I will love watch all the process of this truck I have a 89 too and I was thinking about 351 but I’m looking that is more efficient a coyote but the space was a big problem
I've just started watching your series and I know it's been 7 months but I'm sure someone has suggested switching to an electric steering setup. I know it can be done on my '03 but I don't know how extensive it is to be done on your generation. All I do know is everyone that has it loves it! I look forward to watching the rest of your videos! By the way mine's chrome yellow!
Sorry, I missed your comment somehow, but yeah, electric steering had gone through my mind. I ultimately went with Hydraulic because I was going with Hydroboost for the brakes. I could have gone with manual brakes or electric pump for the Hyd. Brakes but decided to stick with Hydraulic Steer/Brakes.
@@mr.ls-s860 The old 5.0L had a wiring harness/fuse panel from Ford Performance. I would have to dig through my paperwork to find the part number. I don't think they sell that anymore. The new 5.0L, I bought a Control Pack from Power by the Hour for the Gen 2 F150 engine. It comes with the engine/tranny harness, ECM, throttle pedal, etc.
Yes. That's kind of plan Z though. I prefer a puller. I actually have an extra puller from another project i want to use and I'm pretty sure i will have enough room. There is room for a pusher in the front but the radiator support has 2 rectangular openings for radiator airflow so you would need to run two smaller pushers to fit on the radiator unless you cut the radiator support so it has one big opening. I also plan on mounting a tranny cooler in front so another reason i want to use a puller style. One of my next videos will be covering the radiator. Thanks for the comment.
Great video Ford power forever baby l have been wanting to see someone put a coyote in a ranger that is going to be a bad truck Chevy and Mopar killer good luck
@@scmotorsportsI will once I get the front shipped. There's a build thread call aje front who's done it on the ranger station I think. You can Google it. It's what made me pull the trigger. Dude built a yellow LS swapped splash using the kit and it is awesome.
Man shine, a 331 or 347 was a drop in. I'm assuming that thats a stock 5 liter you already have in there! The $ to hp is ridiculous on that swap, but it ur money and ur truck!! My buddy put a pushrod 5 liter in an early Ranger! It was the only vehicle that actually tested my anal retenion!!😂😂😂
Yes, it was a stock 5.0L SBF and yes it would have been way cheaper to just build up the SBF, but a lot of people have done that and then I wouldn't have that rare, cool factor. Plus it is a fun challenge. 😉😉
@@scmotorsports How old are you? You got so many hours! You had a great ride! You're obviously young enough to be bored with a great thing, but it's OK, let me know if it's that much faster!
I love those square body Ranger I had a 1991 and it was the best truck ive ever owned.
I love this video!!
Can't wait for future videos!
I have the 10 part episodes of the build up on my page if you want to binge. Thanks for watching.
Great job keep up the excellent content

The AJE front end kit 100% the way to go.
And those coyotes(F150) don’t have a hydraulic PS pump. It’s electric. Just saying for stock component use

Impressive power potential the modern 5.0's have, just wish they didn't sound like European v8's.
That would be awesome
Hey nice project build. I'm doing the 5.0 and t5 in my build. Did you use an aftermarket wiring harness or use the factory oem harness?
I used a Gen 2 F150 Control Pack from Power by the Hour. It comes with a slimmed down wiring harness.
Which wiring did you use for the 5 .0 engine?

What type of front bumper is that on your ford ranger? It doesn't look stock
That is the stock steel Bumper that came with the truck.
Very cool!
Have you considered a "pusher" electric fan mounted in front of the radiator to make more room?

i had a 1989 ford ranger i was swaping it for a 302 v8 from explorer
Do you want to sell the old 5.0 you’re taking out?
Keeping the old engine for a different project.
@@scmotorsports okay thanks
what motor mounts did you use in this swap and what suspension did you adapt to it?... Very Nice job 👍👍
I am currently waiting for an IFS setup from Scott's Hot Rods. I also ordered a set of motor mounts from them too while I was at it.
I am doing this same swap into a 1983 Ford ranger and am using the aje mustang strut style front.
@@damianlindsey6177 I would be interested to see how that works out for you. Are you doing any videos on it?

Run Volvo electric ps pump, put the pump in the bed.
So a guy told me to use a Toyota gear box and mount it on the outside of the frame
I would be curious to see if that actually works. I would think the tire would hit it or the pitman arm/drag link would interfere with something.
