- A video tutorial on how to start a 2014 - 2024 Dodge Durango with a remote key fob that has a dead battery or is showing the error message Key Fob Not Detected.
The Dodge Durango Owner's manual has the following information what to do if your Durango has a dead or broken remote key fob - showing the message Key Fob Not Detected :
In case the ignition switch does not change with the push of a button, the key fob may have a dead
or depleted battery. In this situation, a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side of the key fob against the Dodge Durango START/STOP ignition button and push to operate the ignition switch. The key fob may not be able to be detected by the Dodge Durango keyless-go system if it is located next to a mobile phone, laptop or other electronic device; these devices may prevent the key fob’s wireless signal from being detected and prevent the
keyless-go system from starting your Dodge Durango.

Worked for my 2014 Durango. Thanks for knowledge!
You're welcome!
Picked up a Durango yesterday that was donated to a local family who lost their house and vehicle in a house fire last week. Went to start it this morning to get it to mechanic to get checked out and "Key Not Detected". Thank you for the help!!

You're Welcome!
I have a dodge Durango and I locked the wheel. How do I unlock with this push to start car?
Life Saver!!
Update, make sure you are using good quality batteries, mine were new, but EXPIRED in both key fobs! 🤦♂️ Don’t buy batteries from a liquidator guys!
Not working
My Durango keep saying no key fob detected i changed the battery still nothing
It is probably the small battery in front of the main one if you have remote start. Put a charger on the small battery. It is last in the car's charging scheme.
Usually the issue is that he battery in the key fob needs to be replaced
@@PYR-Auto I tried 3 batteries. Still happening. Also if I get out after it's started it says key fob left the vehicle & I have to restart the car. Any ideas?
Same issue @dbquad battery replaced and also used spare key fob thinking it was the issue maybe and still would say key fob not detected, key fob has left the vehicle. Etc. i also disconnect the battery and small battery and still it didn’t fix. Thinking I’m going to try and charge that small battery and see if that fixes it. Big battery was still good
Bei mir startet er nicht Alex kann nicht gefunden werden
Stil not detecting and i switch the key fob battery.
Same

I've owned this Durango for 6 years and just learning how that I don't have to play "detect the keyfob". Lol
lol
That didn’t work
Yes but why does it do that and how do I fix it. I don't want to use the key fob to push the start button
Its usually a dead battery in the key fob - so replacing the battery would be the first thing to try to fix it
@@PYR-Auto I tried that :(
Same here
@@Mariam-jg2lf faulty key fob 💯
The used car dealer i bought my 2015 durango citadel from sent someone out to program me a second key.
The key works in every way except for push button start.
Standing outside the car I can unlock, lock, open the hatch, remote start, panic button. When I touch the door handle it unlocks. When I touch the start button with the remote as you do here it works. When I push the start button with my finger "key fob not detected". I call it my car jacking key.
Don't know why your replying to me on this, but $180 at a dealer? Good luck with that. I would go to a locksmith. There is actually a place near me that ONLY does car fobs/remotes.
I have the same issue , did you managed to sort it out?
@@waldi4213 nope, like I said, it's my car jack key. If I ever get car jacked ideally I would give them that key and let them figure it out. Problem is I never carry that key.
This didn’t work
