Arty is correct. There's a green flag in racing which actually allows drivers to get back into racing. Usually it's shown after ret-flag or yellow-flag periods.
yeah, really great fakeout with the zerglings and going around the back into the base. Royal thought that the 1 zergling he saw north east was the whole group, while Action sent the rest of them around and baited Royal with that single zergling. Genius play
Honestly just love ASL so much. The games are so fun, even when they're a shitshow. Way more strategic and satisfying than SC2, as someone who started by watching SC2.

Gosh so freaking painful for Best. I have no idea what happened, he seemed mentally so exhausted at that third game, he was actually in a good position.
Artosis mentions that people may remember Flash taking his third at 7 minutes and saying "that doesn't happen anymore" but I'm watching Flash replays from last month where he's doing it. Terrans have to figure out a way to optimize a quick third while holding goons BEFORE the reavers can delay and storm can get going. It's reflected in Arty's own play with a hesitancy to take the risk for the third. Gotta be early and barely hold.
1:34:21: I initially didn't understand why the player interview claimed that a bug happened here. But on rewatch, the second Sunken Colony misses its first shot (that can happen?!), and then the two colonies are out of sync and get crushed. That fight would've been a bit closer without the bug-miss, and the effects of that would've rippled throughout the remaining game.
Weird and fascinating. Still very unlucky to have it happen to something with high damage and low attack rate, and at the beginning of a disadvantaged fight where it mattered most.
Yep, sometimes it can be downright game changing. But it is part of the game and it breaks some overly sharp builds. I play zerg and how little sunkens pro zergs make gives me shivers... @@MondSemmel
Sad and annoying to watch. Best played pretty bad and some bad throws. I wanted another protoss to advance but he didn't deserve to advance with that sloppy play.
*Spoiler I was in love with Best, was about to cheer for him the entire rest of the championship, after that amazing stormdrop, I started counting (ok, we are on 14 minutos, how long will it take for him to end the game) thinking Terran is OP. Turn out he will lose the game =/
can’t believe it😢😭he threw that game so badly like he just had to sit back and maje expansions… he played so well against royale that i thought again he will get out.. then he played 1 good game against action then made soooo many mistakes in the last match it was soo easily winnable😢
Especially when he heavily leveraged Dark Archons to win last season and then didn't make one in the first game against Action to almost let Action come back to win it.

I've said it before and I will keep saying it. Me and many others honestly don't care about all those complaining previously that the videos take too much time, alot of us liked the previous season so much more. Audio was always in sync, the whole player group selection had subtitles as well as all the interviews and the little intermezzos with the players and Lee Hyun, which just adds insane amount of depth and personality to the entire Korean StarCraft community. Take a full month, three months, fkin half a year to release the videos, I don't give a shit - but please, PLEASE, bring back the quality that the previous season had.

The nat needs to be high ground, single ramp to eliminate hydra busts which are absurdly imbalanced. Probably the most imbalanced thing in BW. This gives T an advantage over P but IMO that's okay because P usually wins over T by choking T for the third and if ahead can expo and finish with carriers instead of going up T's ramp.@@HasekuraIsuna

That Invader game seems like Best's first time playing it, saw the left ramp and assumed they couldn't walk that way early game without scouting it. How do you not have a build with a defense against make a few extra lings on a standard timing and walk in? Then again, I ask that question on normal maps because it seems like that works all the time? Tempest, it seems like best isn't great at moving armies?

SC:BW has had such an insane power level-up lately, the game is so fast, so punishing, so complex, I honestly do not think Protoss can hold up. Protoss needs the most tech, the most spellcasters, the most bases and the most supply to barely function, whereas Terran and Zerg can survive on either very little units or little bases and they generally outscale if carriers aren't invovled and carriers only work agains Terran and even then Terran can still win, although it is hard. Also Hydra busts are broken. Hot Take: Protoss in the Round of 4 will be extremely rare, Protoss in finals a miracle and a win will be impossible. The race is just too slow.

He's been my favorite Protoss since Remastered, but performances like that one always gives me this feeling at the back of my mind that competitive StarCraft is all mechanics and apparently good strategic plays are just lucking out to make something that makes sense from effectively random decision procedure, or post-hoc rationalization on the viewer's part.

For me it looks like pro's have a tendency to over-optimize things to the point it backfires. In the frist game: one Wraith would've mada sure the 3rd is taken. In second game one Firebat would stop the ling run-by.
Best is dropping from 450 APM to 250 from the start of the game to the late phase, is his endurance not that good in comparison to the players who keep the APM on the same level the whole game?
@@abstractdaddy1384 why not? Like Rain had issues with his wrist and suffered APM loss that may influence the game tempo. There are also some "slow" Terran players like Mind that are said to have lower reaction in late game due to a low APM factor
I mean all of these players are old pros or young amateurs. Don't expect much in their apm, their prime was 10+ years ago. General consensus is that performance starts to slow down (brain slows down) at 26 years old, and Best is thirty something years old. He is basically senile in eSports age
@@olegsbornov3552 Apm is usually inflated at the beginning of the game because they are spamming to warm their hands up. Later in the game will show their actual apm when they aren't spamming anymore but even that can fluctuate depending on what's going on at a given moment in the game.
Did anybody else notice how SPOILERS . . . . the bottom-right spawn position was cursed in this whole day of games? Literally every single time (8 of 8) when a player spawned in the bottom-right, that player lost the game. It happened to all four players. Go figure :)

It isn't a bug. Any projectile (except Lurker's) have 1/256 chance of a miss. It's just quite rare, but happens all the time.

He's been my favorite Protoss since Remastered, but performances like that one always gives me this feeling at the back of my mind that competitive StarCraft is all mechanics and apparently good strategic plays are just lucking out to make something that makes sense from effectively random decision procedure, or post-hoc rationalization on the viewer's part.
nah, Best is an amazing player, actuall online he is the best protoss player rn, he is beating everyone, he has showed some flashes of what he can do against royale and action in the first game then he just become tired/anxious and just couldn’t concentrate, he is so mich better then what you see him show in asl its ridiculous
He can actually beat anyone online in a best of 5, and im not kidding, he has the best pvz and pvt rn

For me it looks like pro's have a tendency to over-optimize things to the point it backfires. In the frist game: one Wraith would've mada sure the 3rd is taken. In second game one Firebat would stop the ling run-by.
Best is dropping from 450 APM to 250 from the start of the game to the late phase, is his endurance not that good in comparison to the players who keep the APM on the same level the whole game?

@@abstractdaddy1384 why not? Like Rain had issues with his wrist and suffered APM loss that may influence the game tempo. There are also some "slow" Terran players like Mind that are said to have lower reaction in late game due to a low APM factor
I mean all of these players are old pros or young amateurs. Don't expect much in their apm, their prime was 10+ years ago. General consensus is that performance starts to slow down (brain slows down) at 26 years old, and Best is thirty something years old. He is basically senile in eSports age

Apm is usually inflated at the beginning of the game because they are spamming to warm their hands up. Later in the game will show their actual apm when they aren't spamming anymore but even that can fluctuate depending on what's going on at a given moment in the game.

the bottom-right spawn position was cursed in this whole day of games? Literally every single time (8 of 8) when a player spawned in the bottom-right, that player lost the game. It happened to all four players. Go figure :)
