So they gave it the front end of the Macan and the exact rear end of the Panamera? This is probably the last generation of this model; there really isn't much else they can do with it, after all.
As much as I am impressed with everything Porsche can do with an SUV, please do not refer to a highrise building on wheels as a sports car.
mufflejoy Have you driven a Cayenne or a Macan? Apart from the height you don't even feel like you're driving an SUV. It really does feel like you're driving a sports car.
Lj Jones yes, I have driven a Cayenne, and a 911 targa 4S and a Boxster and a Cayman and a GT3RS and an R8 and a Lotus Elise. I guess you and I don't share the same definition of what a sports car feels like. That's OK.
Lj Jones - I am not assuming anything. I replied to your statement that you feel a Porsche SUV feels like a sportscar, and I don't share that view. I don't think there is any requirement for Porsche fans to have the same oppinion about this. How that makes me egotistical or any part of any anatomy, I am not sure.

Really disappointed with the rear. Reminds me of a Honda CRV or an older Ford Edge. Other luxury SUV companies are adding depth in addition to LED light strips.
Also the black trim along the bottom of the car is a cheap finish. They'll probably take it off for the GTS version.

currana HD currana HD Yes, I know what SUV means. What you apparently fail to see is that it is simply a marketing term nowadays. It sells more than naming them High Station Wagons. People want to be cool, right? Tell me: what sort of sport do you realistically see the average street-legal Cayenne being a part of? Do you consider an SUV such as an Escalade ESV a sports car as well? A Ford Expedition? They are SUVs after all.
I've driven a Cayenne Turbo (non-S) at a racetrack to its limit. While certainly impressive for such a heavy car with a high center of gravity, it is certainly not nearly as dynamically capable as a real sports car.

Every time they throw a new of these. I get afraid of wtf my neighbors'll do. Is not that Im jealous, I am a bit salty. But those neighbors are too prepotent and chaotic. Maybe they should have specific licenses for these sport SUVs. It's sad to see moms driving around with these.

Exterior-wise ugly shoulder, other than that quite pretty but not as much as the Macan.
Failure. Rear end looks like a Lincoln. Roof line looks like a Range Rover Evoque. 2017/18 Cayenne Platinum Edition had brand identity. This new Cayenne is terrible. Wider, longer, shorter, with less ground clearance then the previous edition. It's called an SUV for a reason. It's not a sports car.
Well... I'm well familiar with the buyers stupidity, it is a bit of surprize to see Porsche's engineers stupidity! Touch sensitive buttons require to look at each specific one, the good old physical buttons can be felt even by fingertip and the brain will recognize the right one...

An SUV is not sporty at all, that's the problem with these. An X6M, a Range Rover Supercharged, a GLE 63 AMG... Apart the Cayenne which drives really well for an SUV, they all are jokes on wheels. If you want something really sporty and fun, then take a coupé or a hot hatchback.

This is no sportscar! Ridiculous... I like Porsches but they ruin the good name of their real sportscars, if they say it's on the same level. Name it as it is, nothing more than a sporty SUV. After all a typ of car with limited purpous but great appeal and therefore a cashcow for Porsche.
Phil Z. The ad is trying to say that the DNA of Porsches sports cars is a part of Cayenne. When I had my Cayenne Turbo, at times it didn't feel like I was driving an SUV, it's performance, response and handling made me feel like I was driving an actual sports car.
