I had an archery mule deer tag and elk tag last season. It makes it tougher because you have a hard time deciding what to go after each day. One day since I hadn't seen any bucks I was determined to find some elk. I started hiking looked up and saw a really nice buck rubbing on a bush. I ended up taking him but never got my elk. I was pretty happy, he was a great buck.
For anyone that is new to elk hunting. First ill say fun video to watch. Great buck with an exciting stock. But this isn't how real elk hunting is. I guess there is a very lucky few that get into a pile of elk like this but not many. This is private land hunting and their probably the only two guys on the mountain for the week. Which is great I wish I could get in on that deal one day. But don't let video's like this make u think that u can go hunt and see elk all over the place like this. Ur lucky to see any elk the whole hunt is more realistic lol. Public land is gonna be a lot of work to get into em. This film just made it look so easy and don't want anyone new to the sport to think its a cake walk cause u will be in for a treat on ur first public land hunt. Might be a bit disappointed haha. Fun video though and what a awesome piece of land. Great management work to say the least!

Mike Studer first shot seemed to not be the best, he probably followed up with another arrow. You can tell by how he was narrating the whole thing that he wasn’t proud of his first one.
