      @@Jalbesbe It's different, some people didn't like the change. It does not follow the same formula as SG-1 and SGA. SGU is not about heroes who resolve issues quickly. It has more gravitas, and less humour. It's also darker, the characters are flawed compared to the other series. I'd say it was influenced by the Battlestar Galactica at the time. Personally I loved it, just wished there was more, it ended somewhat abruptly. Cinematically, the show still looks great today and holds up well.

    What an incredible ship! The level of advanced engineering necessary to be able to dive into the stellar body of a star itself and use the coronal mass of the star as the very fuel to power the ship's voyage throughout the universe, and to be able to almost effortlessly fly out of the star's gravity well and fly off. No ship in all of Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Halo, Warhammer 40K etc. that I can think of can even come close to that level of engineering as seen upon the Destiny and its sister Gate-Building Construction ships. (And the music is pretty Epic too!)

    • @antongoykhman
      @antongoykhman Месяц назад +4

      Star Trek and Stargate Earth Ships upgraded by Asgard can do it. Klingons used a tractor beam to destabilize corona and release its energy to destroy dominion ships in pursuit and also their ship building dry dock. General Martok was impressed how fast Dominion is able to build ships. Forgot to add that indeed energy requirements in Stargate are far superior to even Star Trek and Omega Molecule which is basically a god to Borg and other species but Species 10C used it as just an energy source for their hyper-field.

    • @steadholderharrington9035
      @steadholderharrington9035 Месяц назад +7

      @@antongoykhman And in all of that, can any of those ships dive right into the coronal mass of a star to rake off actual star mass for the usage of said star mass as fuel?
      Klingons ships can't dive into the coronol-sphere of a star, nor can any Star Trek ship, no matter their abilities to use a tractor beam to cause a coronal mass ejection to destroy enemy ships while passing by. That's not diving right into the coronal mass of a star, thats just using the star's mass through energy and magnetic field manipulation with gravitational-field tractor emitters to tickle the star into ejecting a flare to swat others out of the sky, so-to-speak. And why are we bringing the Omega molecule into this discussion?
      As for Asgard technology, if the Asgard ships were given access to basically unlimited amounts of energy, then they could possibly enter and survive in a star's coronal mass. However, the destiny is able to enter the star's coronal mass in an almost unpowered state, and then once taking on more star mass to fuel itself, it then fills its energy reserves to full capacity again before flying back out. So you have the Asgard basically needing unlimited energy reserves to do what an Ancients starship can do with almost no power what-so-ever... Not exactly a great comparison for levels of engineering. Might as well be saying that an archer basically spamming out god-level amounts of arrows per second can do the same amounts of killing that one dropped nuclear warhead can do at the same time.

    • @antongoykhman
      @antongoykhman Месяц назад +2

      @@steadholderharrington9035 The Asgard used ancient database to enhance their own knowledge and technology. Asgard are able to traverse between galaxies in no time and used their own energy source. Their ships are able to withstand Ori direct fire and yes they can be inside the star.

    • @steadholderharrington9035
      @steadholderharrington9035 Месяц назад +4

      @@antongoykhman So, you are equating the use of the Ancients database gave the Asgard the ability to traverse between galaxies and withstanding shots from Ori ships with shielding technology as somehow also giving the Asgard ships enough power to go into the coronal-sphere of an actual star.
      Going by your logic, why are the Asgard not using Ancients database to build Super-Gates between the various galaxies so that instead of flying for days to get from one galaxy to the other, they could just do it in mere moments like the Ori do?
      Or why didn't they use the Ancients database to build ZPM's so they would have almost unlimited amounts of energy to call upon to power their ships and their ships hyperdrives so the ships would only take hours instead of days to traverse between the Asgard home world in another galaxy and Earth in the Milky Way galaxy? Why are Asgard ships not using star's for fuel by now instead of relying on other limited fuel resources? Could it be that the knowledge of the Ancients and the material knowledge of the Ancients is still so advanced that not even the mighty Asgard are able to understand it, even though the Destiny itself was designed and build over a million years before?
      You should know that the Asgard never had full access to the Ancient database. Otherwise, Thor would have known how to build the replicator destroyer early on, and the Asgard would have had no problem dealing with the replicators, who were an invention of the Ancients in the first place. And they would have long been using the Ancients knowledge and be having almost no problems dealing with any race they came upon in the present day SGU!
      But this is not the case! So its apparent that the Asgard's limited access to the Ancients database was indeed very limited, as they are still, after over tens of thousands of years later still only understanding just the very surface of the ancients database of knowledge.

      You don’t got the idea behind the show, in fact here writers missed up quite a bit cause before this expedition the Stargate franchise was already in position of Atlantis and Asgard legacy but yet they went on that journey without any background gear or tools to make their life easier.
      To put it easier here is an example, imagine you already have technology to get across galaxies but yet you use technology from 21 centurie, it is like instead of driving a Tesla plaid car you go in a wheelchair from last century on a highway.😂

    • @sdwone
      @sdwone Месяц назад

      Yeah... Not quite! In the Stargate Franchise, Humanity kinda cheated by using alien tech to leap frog themselves a bit on that Kardashev Scale but... We were still hardly Type I!
      But sure... That ship was definitely Type II tech... Maybe even closer to Type III given it's ability to easily travel the Universe! And of course the original creators of that ship ascended WAY beyond Type III to become gawd knows what!
      Gods? 😊

    • @sdwone

      @@En-Pea-SeaFusion technology... Assuming we can pull it off... Will definitely set us on that road to Type I. Because energy production will be almost limitless! So long as there's enough deuterium in the world's oceans.
      And of course... That great big inviting rock The Moon... Has an abundance of Helium-3 to power even more advanced Fusion Tech!
      I guess what we need now... More than ever... Are more Human Brains to help usher in this new era... But on that front... Things ain't looking good! 😳

    This show had HUGE Potential but... They simply ran out of gas! Almost from the very start! Still... Save for the latter episodes before this show was cancelled... This was a VERY Unique show! A dreamy... Surreal kind of Sci Fi! That was WAY out there! Billions of Light Years out there! Although this sense of Total Isolation was spoilt by a clumsy plot device!
    It's definitely not a Great Show... But it is an Interesting one! And I would recommend if you like slow... Dreamlike Science Fiction! Indeed... Having only watched this show once, it's definitely worth watching again 😊

    I feel this is one such Stargate franchise that they really screwed up on. They could have done better It started off on a fast paced high note, and then once everyone is transferred over to the Destiny, everything kind of slow turtled walked down in action. Could have been better. Instead we are left on a cliff hanger to strut across several million light years to the next galaxy, and hopefully Eli has his stasis pod fixed before TOO LONG. Then curtain fades to black and then, that was that???
