    Hello Amoeba Sisters. I am a high school student watching you from Turkiye. I discovered you while looking for a biology channel on RUclips for the exam I will take this year and I am glad I did. Thanks to your simple and entertaining lectures, I was able to learn many subjects faster than usual. I would like to ask you a favor. Since my English is not very good, I try to watch your videos with RUclips's auto-translate feature. Although this feature works well from time to time, it usually does not work very well and inevitably the efficiency I get from the video decreases. If you don't mind, could you please add subtitles in different languages to your videos? I hope you see my message and I didn't bore you. May your success continue. I wish you a good day.

    At 2:25 you introduce the mechanism of Gene Mutation, and state some may be harmful, some beneficial, some neutral. This is not just one of several mechanisms in the basket. It is THE mechanism upon which ALL of Neo-Darwinism is founded. You know this.
    Darwinian Evolution, the process of Natural Selection from within an existing genome (your grasshopper example), is demonstrable & irrefutable. That's what Darwin himself was observing. But it does not explain the origin of a genome (the grasshopper) much less the origin of life because 100 years later Watson & Crick discovered DNA in 1953. This required Science to find a new theory to explain the origin. They settled upon Neo-Darwinian Evolution, the process of Natural Selection from random gene, DNA, and Protein mutations, to explain the origin of genomes and life.
    I believe the Biology Education Complex does a great disservice to students by lumping all these discrete principles, concepts, and theories into one term "Evolution" and failing to distinguish between the salient and VERY disparate components involved. The hurdles to Neo-Darwinism are myriad and large. Here's just 3 of them. First, at what stage of gestation must a mutation occur to become heritable? Second, how many concurrent mutations must happen in concert to produce a new function during this narrow window? Third, to your casual point of "harmful beneficial neutral," what's the probability that a random mutation will be beneficial? If you have a protein that's 150 amino acids long, how many possible combinations must the Universe randomly generate before it finds a beneficial one?
    Each of those 3 is a monumental probability challenge. Then you've got to combine those probabilities into a single probability. And then you must do that for every cell in the grass hopper's body. Then all the disparate cells must work in concert, all interdependent, which further compounds the probability hurdle.
    There is NO scientist in scientific history that would accept this level of improbability in ANY other field/endeavor. If you tested every possible combination of the 150 amino acid long protein at the rate of one per minute, there isn't enough time in the history of the Universe much less the planet to do so.
    And you know the abysmal ratio of beneficial to harmful to neutral mutations. I know you know.
    And we haven't even gotten to the basic chemistry challenges. The Biology Education Complex is impeding science by lumping all this into one seamless Theory of Evolution. Darwinism, like General Relativity, is real. Stop pretending that Neo-Darwinism is more than a theory.

    • @okboomer1241
      @okboomer1241 Месяц назад

      @@thejabberwocky2819 Neo Darwinism is the theory that random mutations of DNA, Proteins etc are responsible for ever increasing complexity of the genome from the single celled organism in the primordial ooze thru to the homo sapiens of today. If you have a protein 150 amino acids long where each position can be occupied by one of 20 different amino acids, how long would it take to test even half the possibilities to accidentally produce the useful string at the exact moment in time and space to be heritable? the earth isn't old enough to do that even if you tested one every minute. And that's just one short protein. Now you expect the universe to randomly do that with all the necessary proteins and dna strings? At exactly the right moment so they all work in concert? The fact that we share genetic material with other organisms is NO proof that Neo Darwinism is responsible. None. The fact that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west is no proof that the sun orbits the earth.

    • @okboomer1241
      @okboomer1241 Месяц назад

      @@thejabberwocky2819 In a modest length protein of 150 amino acids long, each of the 150 positions can be occupied by one of 20 amino acids. The number of possible amino acid combinations to build that protein is 20 to the 150th power, or 1 in 10 to 195th power. That's a rather unfathomable number of possibilities that Neo Darwinism says the universe must randomly test to find a viable protein. There aren't enough minutes in history of planet Earth to test every possible combo at the rate of one per minute. But wait, there's more. That accidentally viable protein must be produced at the random moment the random function of that random protein is needed. The math on that probability is incalculable. But wait, there's more. How many proteins, the proteome, are there in the human body? Nobody knows! Guesstimates range from 10k to 1b! But wait, there's more. How many different functions do each of these 10k-1b proteins perform? Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds... nobody knows! Just from the limited number we've observed, many are stacked one atop the other. In other words, protein X can't to jack squat useless/until proteins A thru W do their jobs first. All of this, according to Neo Darwinism, occurs randomly and accidentally. But wait, there's more. Now the universe must do it all with DNA and the rest of the genome too. Every other scientific discipline would laugh you out of the room if you proposed a theory in their field with that kind of improbability. They would laugh you out of the room at 1 in 10 to 195th power.

    I have my degree in Zoology, what people need to keep in mind is that: evolutionary changes within a species = observable, testable science; evolutionary changes into a completely different species = ideological, materialist philosophy. People act like microevolution + time = macroevolution, yet nature trends towards conservatism of the genome rather than innovation, as most random mutation is either outright harmful or completely useless. Thinking that random mutation & miraculous spontaneous generation are sufficient to explain the natural history of life on Earth is not only incredibly naive, but also bordering on religious dogma.

    Every human has a timestamp on when they were born. Lets use January 1 2000 at 2:07 AM, if you go back in time there has to be a timestamp for the first human. The question now arises what species was the parent of the first human?

    • @SpeciesPlantarum
      @SpeciesPlantarum 10 месяцев назад +10

      In the context of biological evolution, that's a nonsensical question. Every individual organism is the same species as its parents and its offspring. Understanding that takes a lot of prerequisite understanding of biology and a deep dive into the topic of biological evolution.

      @@SpeciesPlantarum Your answer is nonsensical answer. And also its not answer at all because your didn't answer the question. You basically said evolution is true because science. I am a scientist, I'm a computer scientist, science is the method of how we do something. If I can understand computer science concepts surely I can understand your make believe fairly tale of animals magically changing into other animals unless of course there a plot holes (like the one I outed in my original comment) that were never thought when making it up.

    If the lawnmower could hit a grasshopper, it would also hit the soil and ruin the lawn and machine. Most lawnmowers Cut the grass down to at least an inch in height.

      I'm pretty sure lawnmowers are designed to draw air and objects up from the ground, not just cut. Otherwise every lawnmower just cuts and leaves all the cut grass and stuff behind. So grasshopper vs. mower blades that both pull them up as well as cut = what you see.

    It is preposterous to believe that everything came from nothing, that the elegant laws of physics, chemistry, nuclear reactions and planetary motion, as well as symmetry, order and harmony, sprang from, and that life came from a mixture of chemicals, which eventually spawned intelligence, logic, self-consciousness and morality.
    Romans 1:19-21
    19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
    21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

      Although something can technically come from nothing (it’s a long explanation and I’m too tired to do it all over again), and even if it couldn’t, that wouldn’t indicate a God. Why would the creator/s of the universe have to be conscious. It could literally just be an eternal extra-dimensional field of energy, there are infinite possibilities for what it could be other than a God.
