I am a tour guide and use 5 of these machines, just started the fourth season on brutal rocky rugged terrain. Most of the vehicles are pushing 6000 miles, i can give you a laundry list of all the weak points....
    1) EVERY exhaust manifold has cracked and been welded
    2) The door latch mechanism gets dirt in them and doors wont close.
    3) Coolant fans are garbage we lost a motor over that.
    4) Rear CV axel goes, good luck replacing them. Had to send it back to the dealership and they drilled and threaded the case like a clutch puller.
    4) primary clutches were all done around 4000 miles
    5) seat rails need to be lubed constantly or they freeze
    6) every unit started consuming oil after 4000 miles
    7) All the steering racks have failed and been replaced.
    8) We replace all the tierods, bushings, brakes every season.
These machines get washed at the end of every day before they are parked. Not a Kawasaki hater just a list of things to look for, all brands have a list im sure.

Love my 2020 KRX. I've got 6K miles, not kilometers, on mine, all high desert (rock, jeep trails, washes) and some road miles. I've gone through clutch weights and tires but nothing else. She's a goat in the rocks! It's my first SxS and I'm very happy with it. I've learned a lot about SxS's since I purchased the KRX and if I could do it all over knowing what I know now, I would still choose the KRX. I hope to get many more miles out of her.

Good to see that Kawasaki’s back in the game of building good reliable machines the Teryx was an absolute indestructible side-by-side and now I see the KRX is right there with it.
They really lost a lot of business when they had so many engine failure’s on their brute force quads, and the original Teryx side-by-sides.
As far as speed goes, I think people are playing Russian roulette when they’re driving fast like that on the trail.
You’re hearing more and more stories of sticks going through or making their way through the door or the firewall or whatever and killing people are hurting them seriously.
That kind of speed has no place in the bush and it’s disappointing because years ago when I had my dog, she would run beside my machine or behind it or sometimes in front these days with the way the machines are being so fast and the way everybody’s driving them I would never even think of having my dog running on the trail like that.
It will be interesting to see what this new Kawasaki is that’s coming out “the Ridge” but looks like it’s going to be a big four seater, luxurious station wagon. It would be nice if they would upgrade the Teryx4 keeping all the reliability, but making it quieter.

    • @countryslickerofficial

I've been eyeing these units for a few months. Seems like the way to go. Drove one around the dealer lot last weekend. Loved it. Only thing I noticed on 2 different ones (I took the base and the trail for a quick spin) is that when I turned switch from 2wd to 4wd the display did not show it instantly. Didn't matter if I stopped, L, H, N, at a very slow crawl. I did hear the actuator every time I switched it and I think it was actually engaging and disengaging properly. Almost seemed like there was a "lag" on the dash.....it would finally display it properly after rolling along a few feet it seemed.

Been watching so many KRX videos and I also live in AB. I decided to shy away and will wait to see what the gen 2 looks like. I bought a can am and have had zero issues! Well over 2000km and not a single issue. I'm just hoping can am also comes out with a new 100ish hp machine as in the 1000cc NA class the mav sport is lagging in suspension department (only reason to consider krx was the suspension travel and storage)

@countryslickerofficial had a sport XXC but now have a Commander XTP Max since I got kids. Love it for a quiet interior and it's very comfortable. The longer 4 seater helps well as this class of can am do "bounce" around at speed. X3 which I've driven and drove with is bonkers but expensive and so little storage. I looked at the KRX as a mini X3.. still get the trailing arm rear suspension which tracks better than a arm. Polaris blow belts but worse catch on fire... seen 3 burnt rzrs this year alone no burnt anything else. Oct 1st we may see a Gen 2 KRX. otherwise I'm expecting a big update in MY26 to the can am 1000cc NA lineup as it's very stale now

I drive slow in the trails no dropping hard on suspension...and that's why I'm not to worried about the skid plate either...can't Imagine hitting anything that hard...the trex 800 has pretty much the same set up as far as skid plates.... have owned 2 and never bottomed out hard enough to ding it that much

    • @countryslickerofficial
      @countryslickerofficial  4 месяца назад +1

Right on congrats on the purchase! It could potentially affect the leaking of nitrogen, although a seal that is holding internally shouldn't leak more or less due to how hard you drive it. Honestly I just believe it's a time thing. Even loosing a very very minor amount equates to noticeable difference as the years go on. Spring sag wasn't a very discussed subject until recently and I think that's due to the krx not being a brand new model anymore and there being some machines a few years old now.

Riding trails is good. But the transmission just makes it unrideable garbage to me. If I want to take the family down a dirt road on a nice leisurely ride it just makes for a horrible experience. 5.5k rpms at 25mph and horrible drone. These need only selectable gear automatic or manual.

@knunn5171 I think your looking for a Honda or yamaha then. Sounds like you bought the wrong machine for your application

@@countryslickerofficial I was just helping out a family member with financial problems keeping it and paying the payments. Didn’t really research it because I would have helped regardless. I was just really surprised how much I don’t like the machine. It’s the special edition 4 seater. It is very good on trails and technical stuff. But anything faster it’s just not for me

@knunn5171 that checks out for sure. For the cruising I feel like the r max or even the maverick is a better beast

Lol my 21 xrs smart shox is so much better then the Krx suspension wise, and it keeps u locked in the seat. Krx you are getting tossed around everywhere. You have under rated the 72” wide x3.. it’s definitely not the best suspension!!

Steering is much better than my can am x3..
feedback is sub par with the x3.. it’s a solid machine, but it’s meant for slower riding, cannot keep up to x3! My father in law owns a Krx so I definitely know what I’m talking about.

I dont know my man, that xrs has a lot of money in the shocks and it can take the big hits but that low speed dampening isnt quite up to snuff in my opinion. Does yours have the external reservior bypasses?

I rode in a stock krx and the suspension was rough. Rode in a xp1000 and it was way smoother. Also we got a guy with a broke front diff on his krx.

@@cullens165ablewhat a terrible absolutely terrible opinion. The xp1000 is garbage. You have no idea how that buddy of yours set the krx. It has like 24 clickers on each corner. Also the front diff probably blew going up a crazy rock climb pulling the broken rzr.

I agree with most of your review....but quit calling it a BIKE!! "Bike" is short for BICYCLE--meaning 2 wheels. Machine, car, SXS, buggy....I don't care, but BIKE is definitely wrong.
