In my opinion this is the absolute best edging for beds. Not only is it the best looking, it is completely free and relatively easy to do using just one simple tool.
If you need a half moon edger, below are some good options:
Ames half moon edger: amzn.to/3xqsNY9
Garden weasel edger: amzn.to/3VOXTT7

The bathroom tape measure.😂
Ha whooooooops
Crispy edge curves look more organic to a landscape. 👍🏼
I agree with that!
Curved edges FTW!
I agree!
Just got done edging and mulching. I watched your old video on edging thanks💪🏾
Love it!
Crispy......the work done this time of year sets the tone for the entire season. Love it!
Yes!!
Always prefer curves over Flat!
I bet you do!!!!!
My lawn is extremely dry and rocks with clay so the half moon and shovels just couldn't do it. You lawn looks healthy so it look super easy.
Wonder if you’d have better luck with a gas powered edger
Glad to see ya, Justin. Not going to go with bags of red mulch from the Speedway gas station on the corner? What will they do with the 20 pallets of it they need to sell? 😂
Do you think they’d even be able to give it away??
I do red lava rock in some beds. Never have to mulch again and it supposedly puts some nutrients into the soil.
Just put some Holy water on that grass in the beds. It'll clear it right up 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
My man
I keep my edges in the crisper drawer punkin.
I alwaaayyyss stick it in, two pumps and wiggle wiggle then pull out! 😂💪
“Stick it in. Wiggle wiggle wiggle pull it out. You know what I’m talking about “
Well I thought I clicked on a lawn video
I like a straight edge on the side of the house and curved beds up front. No one sees the straight beds and it’s easier to mow. Plus there’s no centerpiece to the side bed, like the weeping cherry tree in front of the house. The backyard beds will be curved for my enjoyment.
Curves are my preference for sure
What’s the best way to clean the inside? Kill it or scrap it off?
Scrape off if you can but it’s hard sometimes so spraying is much easier
Closet thing to pine straw is red mulch…. Just saying…. lol
Ha that’s fair
A great natural wood mulch, if you have access to, is Hemlock. Pleasant color, nice aroma when wet. I add a layer each spring. Older breaks down and adds nutrients to the soil.
Awesome video man.
Should the grass be damp before using the half moon edger? If the soil is dry, would that possibly make the soil crumble when I go to make the edge?
Also, if it's an existing bed, but with nothing in it, how do you suggest I rejuvenate the soil? Do I need to dig the old soil out and put in new soil?
Thanks!
I wait for a rain to dampen the earth before edging, cuz I'm a girl 😂... much easier!
Do not dig your soil out, just mulch your native soil with a thick layer of wood chips, all you need
You can just use some good soil when planting and cover with mulch
Oh yeah....I know what you're talking about 😉😉😇
Haha yeah ya do
How come you don’t lay down a weed barrier like plastic or fabric before the mulch?
I think it’s a waste of time and money. You’ll get weeds anyway and they’re easier to pull without the weed barrier
Just run a power edger down the kine alot easier
No cloth under landscaping stone or mulch????
Not for me no. You do it how you like though
@@TheLawnWhisperer That’s an honest question… I just scraped and cleared away a straight edged area beside a garage. I spaded some old buried stems. Should I spray anything… or just cover with the landscaping stone ai plan to use?
@@matthewfrost1201 I personally don’t like using fabric. Stone you could use it to prevent rock from sinking but mulch I definitely don’t use it
How'd he know I store my tape measure in the bathroom? 🤓
I thought we all did?!
Waits what’s up with Red Mulch? I should not buy that I don’t want people to gossip about my red mulch
That looks far closer to 13 inches.
Ah you’re right. That’s my bad 😳
