    In my opinion this is the absolute best edging for beds. Not only is it the best looking, it is completely free and relatively easy to do using just one simple tool.
    If you need a half moon edger, below are some good options:
    Ames half moon edger: amzn.to/3xqsNY9
    Garden weasel edger: amzn.to/3VOXTT7

    My lawn is extremely dry and rocks with clay so the half moon and shovels just couldn't do it. You lawn looks healthy so it look super easy.

      Wonder if you’d have better luck with a gas powered edger

    Glad to see ya, Justin. Not going to go with bags of red mulch from the Speedway gas station on the corner? What will they do with the 20 pallets of it they need to sell? 😂

      I do red lava rock in some beds. Never have to mulch again and it supposedly puts some nutrients into the soil.

    I like a straight edge on the side of the house and curved beds up front. No one sees the straight beds and it’s easier to mow. Plus there’s no centerpiece to the side bed, like the weeping cherry tree in front of the house. The backyard beds will be curved for my enjoyment.

    What’s the best way to clean the inside? Kill it or scrap it off?

    • @TheLawnWhisperer
      @TheLawnWhisperer  2 месяца назад

      Scrape off if you can but it’s hard sometimes so spraying is much easier

      A great natural wood mulch, if you have access to, is Hemlock. Pleasant color, nice aroma when wet. I add a layer each spring. Older breaks down and adds nutrients to the soil.

    Awesome video man.
    Should the grass be damp before using the half moon edger? If the soil is dry, would that possibly make the soil crumble when I go to make the edge?
    Also, if it's an existing bed, but with nothing in it, how do you suggest I rejuvenate the soil? Do I need to dig the old soil out and put in new soil?
    Thanks!

      I wait for a rain to dampen the earth before edging, cuz I'm a girl 😂... much easier!

    • @josephdefresco5169
      @josephdefresco5169 2 месяца назад +1

      Do not dig your soil out, just mulch your native soil with a thick layer of wood chips, all you need

    • @TheLawnWhisperer
      @TheLawnWhisperer  2 месяца назад

      You can just use some good soil when planting and cover with mulch

    How come you don’t lay down a weed barrier like plastic or fabric before the mulch?

    • @TheLawnWhisperer
      @TheLawnWhisperer  2 месяца назад

      I think it’s a waste of time and money. You’ll get weeds anyway and they’re easier to pull without the weed barrier

      @@TheLawnWhisperer That’s an honest question… I just scraped and cleared away a straight edged area beside a garage. I spaded some old buried stems. Should I spray anything… or just cover with the landscaping stone ai plan to use?

    • @TheLawnWhisperer
      @TheLawnWhisperer  Месяц назад

      @@matthewfrost1201 I personally don’t like using fabric. Stone you could use it to prevent rock from sinking but mulch I definitely don’t use it
