      Hi Giles, this would be gold especially if you could combine it with options for windy weather as yesterday during my round we had to also deal with 35-40 kph wind speeds which changed my normal club selection to keep the ball lower. The first time I’ve had a score above 80 in a while so it had me thinking about if my mindset was incorrect. Cheers, Marcus.

    Thanks, Giles, for this informative video. As a senior golfer who has played the game for nearly 60 years, I can understand fully your logic that as we age, flexibility and strength become quite limited. Most golf instruction on the web is basically tailored to young, athletic players. I found this video extremely helpful. Keep up the good work!

    Excellent lesson for seniors Giles! Since I first started as a subscriber to your channel many moons ago, I have implemented a lot of your suggestions which has led to better ball striking. Now, after being absent from the gym, because of CoVid for almost four years, I've reinstituted my four or five day a week work out schedule. Two weeks ago was one of my better rounds in over six months. My body is again feeling a lot more invigorated and my distance is coming back. In addition to your senior tips, I would definitely recommend some type of gym program for your senior viewers. As Always Giles, Well Done!

  • @rickklimczak-si9hp
    @rickklimczak-si9hp 4 месяца назад +1

    Wow, so many helpful pointers! 2 questions;
    - I too frequently top my iron shots. You encourage “pushing up” in the swing. Can you elaborate exactly when in the downswing I should push up and / or what swing thoughts should I have or what actions should I take to prevent “ thinning” my shots?
    - are there any differences between iron and driver swings I need to consider as I incorporate your tips in this video?

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  4 месяца назад +1

      - You push up just after left arm parallel in the downswing with your legs. I have videos on topping coming out later
      - The setup is the biggest difference

    Great info. Do you find , at the top of the swing, the club is more vertical than in the "young flexy" swing. But, same hand depth?

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes I often do and simply because the more you turn the longer the swing gets. The less you turn the shorter the swing and more vertical the shaft

    Most golf instructors will say to stay in posture throughout the swing and not stand up. It took me many years to realize this is SO WRONG. I'm certain that that seemingly correct, simple, bad advice has ruined countless golfers' swings. I'm noting this because you are clearly standing up as you hit THROUGH the ball, which is absolutely what you should be doing. Hope this helps others avoid years of frustration.

    • @Gilesgillgolf
      @Gilesgillgolf  4 месяца назад +3

      You’re stood in a clock with 12 being in front of you & 3 being to your right. Very simple so not sure where the confusion is. If I talk fast then play it in slower speed. Unfortunately I get people complaining when I slow down & yourself complaining when I speed up. No winning really
