I hate when you fix an error and then you magically develop two more errors.
It's like cutting one hydra head and two more pop out. Then you end up just giving up and erasing all your code so you can start over. Lol
@@cuac5869 I was about to comment that 😂
Two CSS properties walk into a bar.
A barstool in a completely different bar falls over.
😭😭😭😭😭
Or fix one and destroy the other..then the fixed one gets destroyed after the destroyed one gets fixed 😂
don't forget the part when you're about to sleep and out of nowhere you know how to solve the bugs :"
Too real lol
I am crying right now. Thanks!
Hahaha yes!!
Oh goddd
Same here
FINALLY an accurate version. This is my life like almost everyday lol
Hahaha I’m glad you relate!!
I was about to comment the same before seeing this 😂
I love your videos!! I’m going to college in Jan for CIS and you are making me supper excited!!
Thank God for the stack
the struggle is REAL
Movie Coding: Ah yes, I've successfully hacked into the pentagon with only 12 lines of code!
Real Coding: Goddamnit, where did I put that curly bracket?
Thats why im using python, it tells me where the error is 😂
When I see those stuff in movies, I get discouraged bc irl I cry bc the questions are so hard and they make it so easy in movies

Try Pycharm if you like
@@yutassmilehealsme6572 movies aren’t real and all of us feel bad

That's not the end, we also code in our dream

That ACTUALLY happened to me a few times, but it was during my job
*Nightmares

Solving the bugs and erorrs if that makes sense 😂
wait,, a computer science major?? posting helpful videos?? and i find her right before i go to college for computer science (in like a week)?? i love to see it 🥺🥺
Love to see you here!! :)
hows it going so far ?

This video really shows the psychology of a cs student well. the part where you said you only talked to one person all day really hit me
@@depression_isnt_real wow we are in the same age! you finished your bachelors degree so fast 😯 and i got one and a half year to go 😪
@@depression_isnt_real mind to share your study journey? on what year did you started your bachelor degree? and before that what did you took? foundation? im interested to know :)
@@depression_isnt_realhaha I’m 24 and I’m going for computer science major in college :)
From what I can tell, a majority of students in CS dont know what’s going on and that’s okay. It’s a lot of information but everything boils down to fundamentals and problem solving. So rely on one another and offer help when you can. I’m a freshman and I’m considering declaring CS as my major because I like making shit work the way I want to. I even made an app in highschool and even though it was hard, it was fun
Im interested and it inspired me how did u do that :)
Here because my program has bugs and stackoverflow has no answer for me and I can't google shit because I don't know what to google exactly BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!!!!! and I'm tired of crying into my pillow so I'm here looking for other people who are hopeless like me so we can all be hopeless together
How nice :D
did you figure it out
Now I know I'm not the only who cries due being stuck with a problem ☹
That was so relatable
omg this is me today!!
Stack overflow is just life saving, whoever invented it is a Saint.
The only really "bad" thing about it is copying code from people saying that their code "works"
@Au / if you just try to understand the idea they had in the answer you got then you should be OK, but often times if you just copy and paste the code they posted it won't work 😂
The most realistic CS major video on the internet rn.
0:34 No matter what school you go to, there’s always that one teammate who doesn’t do the work
I was really surprised to know that one of her teammates dipped out even though they go to Stanford. I guess some things never change.
The fact that this video came up in my feed after trying to solve a programming bug that took me three hours is more than a coincidence.
there is an old proverb,
'take a nap, and you will solve the programming bug in 10 minutes'
So true man same happened to me and I'm very sure RUclips knows 😂
This is what we need.... Not the over exaggerated a day in life
Your work ethic is inspiring!
Im gonna do my hmwrk now
@@juliagries3273 hahahaahaha
Hours and hours devoted to googling and finding what the exact problem is only to find out that you forgot to add an ampersand in a scanf statement
:')
Too real...
Zineb Hoummane I know right. The amount of times that has happened to me...
Kat Leo Gaming i troubleshooted a switch statement once because i forgot to add break;
LimitlessDeadline oh my god that brought me memories that I thought I hoped I have forgotten
Seriously impressed you built an app like this in 2 weeks while managing a full course load at Stanford. How much prior knowledge did you have before your final project?
I really understand your pain. I was a Computer Science before changing to an Computer Information Systems major. Both majors involved a lot of coding and I at times found it so stressful. However I felt that doing band in college helped me stay sane. One of my hardest projects was when I had to do a stack program and my last programming that involve creating a crypto currency with a team.
what’s the diff
Ugh I feel so nice to know I’m not the only one who spends HOURS doing school work. I can FEEL your back pain and exhaustion lol. It’s so amazing what your doing! Also so inspiring to keep pursuing my own schooling. Good luck with everything 😊. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you SO MUCH for posting a realistic day while attending such a wonderful university. I'm in my second year of grad school and when I'm starting to lose focus after sitting for hours and frustration and fatigue kicks in, it's reminders like this that keep me studying. Much appreciation!
I am incoming freshman CS major this school year. This video helps me a lot on what the CS Major day looks like. I hope you will continue to vlog about CS. Thank youuu🤗
Learning python as a sophomore, and I’m pretty much teaching myself . Wish me luck. :)
Also if anyone knows of any internships, please feel free to comment them below. :)
I'm learning Java right now!
Wish you guys good luck
You know... you should really take this online Udemy course.
I'm a sophomore too, and I want to try self-teach myself coding too! Good luck everyone
Good luck everyone! Just found this resource, www.reddit.com/r/learnpython/wiki/index
You remind me with those days when i was working on a desktop application using c++ and i letteraly was spending more than 16 hours per day on coding and it was such a good experience ;)
damn do u hav glasses
I'm a first year coding student and this video is making me nervous about what's coming.

Haha that's exactly me this Friday for my first coding experience 😂
LMAOOOO the fact that this was me
This was me and then I had to learn loops and dropped out of the class
Like seriously 🤣🤣
I felt so powerful it hurtss
It was really fun to watch! Hope the project went ok without bugsss 👩🏻💻
Thanks 😊 It did go well!
Study CS in South Africa and I see no lies here. Just Faxxx!
Paul Dirac eeey South African booois. I study engineering though lol
Same! I'm at Wits and it's more like I'm a Maths major because of all the Math classes in first and second year😂😂
hi, ironically, this video got me started at learning computer science and how to code. 2 years later, i can say that it is tough but SO REWARDING and i love it! thank you Tiffany!
exactly how my life goes everyday. The only free time I get is making coffee, taking a bath and when I go get something to eat.
Dont you get time for part-time jobs?
You think that's tiring , I have to work at the hospital then lab plus I'm currently studying CS after I finished my astrophysics course and I have painting and writing to do 😭 but it's fun cuz I love it and it's enjoyable :,-)
@@damileftmewiglessinboca7894 never said it was tiring lol.
@Adithyaa v hmm it's fun and interesting plus there's alot of stuff you can do with a cs course
It’s great to see a more realistic video of life at Stanford and similar schools. Other videos feature late rising, meditation, journaling, long meals with friends and almost no class or homework time. The reality is that the schools require a lot of hard work, long hours, frustration and pressure. It’s a difficult balance with a social life and self care.
I see 'mehndi' on your hands , looks beutiful
I can’t explain why I like watching your videos so often. But there’s something really soothing about it. Watching people that goes to a good college makes me look forward to going it in the future I guess. ♥️
I’m an electrical and computer engineering student and I feel you on a spiritual level. Just spent a week and a half on stack overflow trying to complete a python project and I’m about to begin developing an app for a senior design class. We will get through this madness together!!!!!!
Thank you!! I thought I was doing something wrong because I seemed to be working on coding for endless hours a day. Sometimes I thought to myself that other people probably wouldn’t be taking this long to finish something.
I am a recent CS graduate, and I had to single handly build an app (because our maximum group number was 2), I relate to sitting in library in college for hour coding followed by coming back and doing the same thing. My internship was also a full blown full stack development, and I can't even exaggerate what stackoverflow means to even CS graduate
I have been struggling to understand whether computer science is for me when I apply to schools within the next year. This was byfar one of the best videos I've found. Thanks sm!
Hey I truly understand how you feel since I took couple of coding courses when I was in college. Good luck with school!
I have an Associate's degree in Computer Science. At first I thought I like it because I love messing with computers and I was very good at math. Turned out it's a lot more work and harder than it looks. There are days I'll spent 8 to 12 hours just on a computer trying to code. I hated it honestly and pursuing something else. I wish you the best in your education. Don't let the discourage words of others define who you are. Everyone has their own story to write, so never compare yourself to others and keep writing your own story because it's not done. When it is done, you will have a tale to tell the younger generations about your success and obstacles of how you overcome them. Persevere through and keep your eye on the prize 😉
I have been wanting my major to be cs glad i found u although i am sorta far away from collage i am only in 8th grade it is nice to see what I am probably doing
me watching this inorder to have a rough idea about what im going to get myself into next year if i decide to major in computer science so thank you
U code for that long! How do u not have glasses? Probably the carrots
I know u didn’t ask but I actually stare at screens like 12 hours a day on average and my eyesight is still fine xD
@@FPLogistic "still" Lmao no but for real you gotta be careful pls
@@FPLogistic it’s a myth for people staring at a screen for a very long time gets bad eye sights.
@@LuisRuiz-zr9fr its true to some extent I believe, but ye if you are blessed by genes, you won't have bad eye sight
Oh she has mehendi on her hand. Yay! Also, the group thing, so relatable. I have single handedly completed entire applications in the past and then at the end explained it to the group members so that they're not completely clueless.
The best way for being good at computer science
Don't miss your weekly assignments
I'm regretting right now 😭😭😭
this was so interesting to see what comp sci majors do every day! also, loved the bios for pete davidson! 😂😂😂
Being a computer science major is extreme. Kudos to all you science and math majors out there! I could never smh.
I've always wondered what exactly is a computer science major and what you would do after college. Like what kinda jobs you'd be looking for. I'm genuinely intrigued.
HAPPY DANCE! Great job. That commitment will get you unbelievably far in your career.
I'm just glad that I'm not the only one that goes through the highs and lows of completing an IT degree. My sister looks so concerned anytime she sees me doing work. I go from celebrating working code to wanting to throw my computer across the universe.
Statistics show only 4 of out 10 people become coders after college with cs degree
Do you have a source for that? I honestly can't tell if this is a joke lmao
@@seanjhardy I can say that I know alot of people who keep saying "You know, I like coding but as a hobby. I wouldn't want to do it as a career". Sitting down and just thinking and solving problems all day isn't really for everyone.
Honestly this is Kind of a class where you need lotss of willpower and determination, because most people drop out. My dad Is a network engineer majored in computer science and has a bachelor's and master's degree, But its not as easy as it looks. When I was younger, I remember always watching him work and trying to talk to him but he would always just be straight up staring at his screen and telling me that he's busy. He took his laptop with everywhere, literally. It's basically time consuming, and honestly most kids here are more than capable to do it, they just don't want to. You don't have to be the best at something, never giving up can go a long way and there's always room for experience. Not saying you should take a major if you're super un happy with it. Although, It would be more refreshing if I saw more American students actually having the will to do their classes, even if it's hard.. a bit awkward that so little of the kids here take these jobs because they gave up, and they have to get people from other countries to literally come in bc nobody else has experience yikes 😬
Statistics show 4 out of 10 youtube comments are true
@@WinterSnowism BAHAHAHA IKR LMAOO
To any non cs major, this is the most precise day-in-the-life cs vid on RUclips all jokes aside
my friend studies computer science so its interesting to see what it's like!
Ok
Finally someone being really honest, most of the day in life videos, They spend time just in gym or eating, this gives a fake impression of cs
As a dev I have some tips that you should follow, if you're not yet, when working with teams you should always have a project leader that will assign people to diferent tasks and manage the hole project, before anything every team mate should write down their ideas and sketches and after that the project manger should análise them and with the other team to decide what way you will follow (this will help with organizing the team for a productive work) finnaly you should have a project manager app with your team so you know what to do and don't forget anything and if any bug appears it is in 1 place instead of messages that get lost.
I think I said it all. Good luck and never give up.
I was a computer science major (although I was at UC Santa Barbara)m way back in the day. Although I liked the idea of commanding computers directly, I fell out of love with the process of programming. I now teach math in high school.
This video is spot on.
2 weeks to produce a fully functioning app?? Omg in my HCI class at my state school we took the entire semester to produce prototypes!! Oof that's some Stanford level stuff right there. Couldn't be me but I'm rooting for you!
Loved seeing someone’s different experience at Stanford! Hopefully can bump into you sometime!
Am literally watching this as a break after sitting in front of my computer for about 8 hours. It's a general thing
So nice to have companion to work with :D
Sitting down for 7 hours!, I'm glad she didn't faint
looks cool I'm a sophmore in High School, and I really like computer programming, and everything to do with them.
I’m in my first year of software engineering which means coding isn’t the most work I do yet but the fact that the little bit of coding I do takes me 6 hours a day for a week daily (mostly from fixing bugs) makes me fear for the future.
How did it go
I don’t even know what coding is, I don’t know what coding be... but whatever you’re doing sounds really smart and you have a big brain especially for attending Stanford
-community college student (child development major)
love how authentic this is. good to know that I'm not the only one struggling...lol
Groups problems. Totally relatable. There’s always at least one person in the group.
CS looks easy-life. More people should do it. Med school + residency is like a neverending all-nighter.
I used to take up 7-8 hours or more just to produce a page out....and guess what it wasn’t even near “good-looking”. Now after graduated I literally avoided EVERY single job that requires programming knowledge. It really scares to me death when I’m doing it for my FYP and i just couldn’t ace it....my brain does not work well with all these logics.
But anyway cheers to everyone out of there who is coding for their life! Their skills in this field is what I admire the most :)
THIS LITERALLY HAPPENED TO ME this semester. We went from a group of SIX to a group of THREE.
I was taking Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics as majors and Calcus and
Computer Sciences as minors but I will be changing them in second year.
I know that Computer Science is hard but I have to do it. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
omg this is so me!!! everyday i'm suffering with that codes.. but what makes me happy is if i successfully completed it, i think there's no other happiness than the successfully running codes and ofc no errors :')
helloooo from a CMU CS sophomore :P
I feel you so much I finally know CS students from other school have the same life HAHAHAHA
Jiayou (if u know Chinese) all the best of luck~
Jia you!! :)
this is the best college video i have ever watched
I'm an ee major so I don't completely relate but I definitely understand you
aww thanks :)
when it comes to coding, 7 hours would feel like 20 mins.
Lol I starts sweating when I see circuit. U guys really do a good difficult task for common people.
Fangskillz lol i think it depends on whether you're coding or just staring at the error messages. the latter is my last night
@@seydaguzelhan7351 correct, when it comes to an error, it would feel like time is just going so slow.
That is how my weekend was @Tiffany Ong C++ is a killer. Until it works then I feel like a god! That one of the reason we love and study what we do.
That's the level of consistency I expect myself to do learning and coding, but the two main problems which I face is procrastination (cuz my brain just feeds on it) and also how do I actually remember everything which I just learned and executed after few weeks?
RUclips had been recommending this video to me everyday bruh. Im finally watching it.
When I started downloading datasheet pdfs for libraries, IC's, and mcu's I stopped having to google questions because all the answers were in the official documentation.

Honestly I congratulate you for looking at a computer screen for 7 hours a day because that sounds absolutely mind numbing. 😭
I have not needed to spend 10 hours in a single session yet for college programming. I am guessing I will for my third a fourth year though
man, youtube recommended me ur video. i guess its time to do my program now 😭😭🤣
Doing CS and this video is very accurate the tiering thing when your code don't complie and you spend hours trying to figure out the problem
Stack Overflow saved my life in college and highschool
This is the untold truth. I love coding yet I repeatedly get frustrated when I have to search stack overflow for hours just to solve a bug which produces another bug. The worst is when you are forced to use languages such as VHDL which has terrible documentation/online support but you just gotta a figure it out for the lab.

you need iclickers and ti98 using statsciit and graphing calculator is also important using R is also important.
When you can’t find your problem on stackoverflow and you spend hours staring at your code trying to figure out what’s wrong...
All I needed was to indent/unindent 💀
Going by the code you showed, I guess you were working on React. I recently got my first job as a software engineer and I have React in our tech stack.
