  • This is a quick comparison of the two, budget, soundboards which are very popular in today's lightsaber builds. Hopefully, this gives you an idea of the differences and a little demonstration of the Spark 2.

    Great review. I think this is very on point especially now that Spark 2 R3 not only has RGB color mixing, but also is only $68, so it is definitely the most feature-packed budget friendly board in the galaxy. Keep up the good work.

      I would say the Warsaber CerbeRus is a better contender right now it has more features, sound effect and better motion than the Spark 2 color and is around $70

      Don't think it has more sound effects, I have 99 of each type for each font.

      Cerberus has Blaster,lockup,flicker,clashcombo,,force power,16x light swing 16x heavy swing,spin.stab,progressive spin,music track player, the Spark 2 doesn't have stab.combo,force power, or progrssive spin it also has no sound font limit which Im not sure how they managed that.

    Can you make a video of you doing a full wire on Spark

  • @ErvPlecter

    thank you for your review. to be fully honest the right Board to compare with would have been the prizm which is tailored with similar features inc. color mixing lockup and all. the nano was engineered with simple wiring in mind as you pointed and has a reduced feature set to make beginners comfortable with their first sabers.

      Does the NB have an accent LED pad?

    • @ErvPlecter
      @ErvPlecter 7 лет назад

      not per say but I'm planning on adding one. It has a permanent 3.3V pad for powering a LED when the kill key is removed (saber powered indicator), a deep sleep pad that turns off once the board goes to deep sleep (nice for a lit switch accent led like some anti vandal switches have) and you can use the output led drive signals to light up a basic crystal chamber that will mimic the blade behavior when the blade is on.
      For sequenced accent LEDs you need at least a Prizm or a CF board

    • @darthsneaky

      Does the Prizm V4 have the rotation swing sounds like the CF8? I like this feature, but it's not worth spending the extra cash for a CF8.

    • @ErvPlecter

      prizm doesn't have spin sounds. But aside of additional sound slots, CF also has a better motion recognition especially for swings.

    My opinión is 2018march31 is: Nano Biscote have better sleep mode and is much smaller than Spark 2. Spark 2 advantages over Nano Biscotte V4 are: 1 -RGB, 2-have 2switch or 1switch +motion , 3-Blasters Deflection effect, 4-Lockup effect, 5-Saber Tracks, 6-Board construction (I never saw a faulty Nec Board but several Plecter boards with problems). So in same range Price Spark 2 is the winner. Erv talks about a fair comparicion betewn Primz and Spark, when Erv lower the PrimZ board price to the Spark2 board price then we can talk.

    Do you have a video where just an LED string blade is used? Thanks. Not worried about voice recordings, just saber sounds.

    I have always wanted to like NEC boards, but I just can’t get into them because of the bad audio quality. When the hum is only playing, you can hear bits of static here and there, and then when you press the blaster button, you can hear all these audio artifacts. Doesn’t make for a good experience.
    Also, what’s worse is that the designer of the boards, when you talk to him about these issues, he always tries to say it’s user error. However, after many many years using both NEC and Plecter boards (and following the user manuals to the T), it’s obvious that this is not the case.

    How is the nano v4 compared to igniter 3?

  • @SonictheBlueStreak

    So, if I just wanted the single-switch setup with the Spark 2 running a SaberForge 12w+ LED, would I do the full wiring exactly as per the instruction manual but omit the AUX wiring?

    So I've got another question, can you wire two on/off switches to the nano Biscotte v4? Or any auxiliary lights?

    • @Sheild_against_the_wicked556
      @Sheild_against_the_wicked556 5 лет назад

      You can do accent LEDs, such as an illuminated crystal chamber. Just watch the let's build a graflex series. However, you can only run a single switch.

    So with the Spark 2, could you possibly have a blaster block/lockup flash that alternates colors like how a CS might? So rather than having a solid red or a solid blue flash, you could have it flicker between the two colors.

    • @BlueForceSabers
      @BlueForceSabers  7 лет назад

      Daniel Maxson you can't have it change colors in mid lockup but u can adjust the lockup and blaster blocks, within the software, to any color you want, depending on your led color choices.

    • @NaigonAkoii
      @NaigonAkoii 6 лет назад

      Yes - It's called alternating clash and it is now part of the S2-R3 release.

    Do you have a wiring diagram of how you put everything together?

    • @BlueForceSabers
      @BlueForceSabers  6 лет назад

      ssmrod rod Each board has their own manual. You can download the manuals at Plector Labs website for the Nano Biscotte and at Naigon Electronics website for the Spark. The diagrams are in the manuals.

    So i purchased a spark 2 pretty much based on this video and burned out the first board, though I could work out the problem on a second board and it crapped out me. So ya I would not recommend the spark 2 to any new saber builders.

    3:16 very useful

  • @matthewswank5801

    So what would you recommend for doing a tri-cre Red Red and White (maybe white for flash on clash) in a Master Replica Darth Maul hilt? I basically just want a bright red blade but don't think that the MR soundboard can handle all that power. And what battery setup would you recommend? I am very new to all of this but would love to actually do a MR Maul conversion that has a bright, durable, well diffused (evenly lit) blade for dueling but does not die in a week or so. Is this even possible?
    Thanks!

    • @BlueForceSabers
      @BlueForceSabers  7 лет назад +1

      Matthew Swank The Nano Biscotte will be the card you will want for the conversion. It is smaller, easier to solder, can handle the tri cree led, has a deep sleep mode, and will be easier to install. Make sure you check out TCSS for their MR conversion kits. An 18650 Battery will be plenty to power it all.

    • @mattswank
      @mattswank 7 лет назад

      +Blue Force Sabers thanks so much! I'll check that out. Also, what would you recommend for dealing with the Darth Maul switch? I really enjoy the design because it doesn't get bumped during dueling like a general press button would with duel sabers. So I would want to keep that switch. Maybe TCCS has a solution for that too? I just don't know how the twist mechanism works

    • @BlueForceSabers
      @BlueForceSabers  7 лет назад

      Matt Swank You can always change the power off parameters in the coding on the nano biscotte. Meaning, the time duration you have to hold down the button for it to power down, so you don't get any accidental turn offs while dueling.

    • @mattswank
      @mattswank 7 лет назад

      +Blue Force Sabers good to know, but if I wanted to keep that switch you don't think it would really be possible? Or just way more extra work?

    • @BlueForceSabers
      @BlueForceSabers  7 лет назад

      Matt Swank Any momentary switch will work.
