    This is really great. I live by the ocean so will be giving these techniques a go. I can see it improving my play especially in the area of shading. Thanks so much!

    I really like this painting, and the shells do look like they're right down in the sand. I like watching your abstract painting videos, its a genre that I don't have a lot of confidence doing, and it gets me out of my comfort zone, but I also like representational too obviously because that's my comfort area. So I'll soak up the information watching whatever you demonstrate. Thank you as always you get our creative mojo working. Cheers!

      @chrisloudart  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks so much, Howling! I'll probably stick to more of the abstracts and throw a sprinkling of representational in now and then. Cheers!

      @@chrisloudart well, a sprinkling is good, I'm an info nerd so I make use of most stuff I absorb into the grey matter. Although at times, well ok most of the time it's pretty hard to wiggle it into general conversation😄😊 Oh you'd like an example, well.. a huntsman spider can do a 360 degree turn and run up your trouser leg before you can blink, sadly they only live for 2 years. The males and females cohabitate quite happily, the female doesn't kill the male and they even court each other before they mate. Females will nest near other females and they will babysit each other's babies while they go out hunting for food. Luckily they prefer not to run up trouser legs, but it is hard not to scream when one the size of your hand crawls out from under the steering wheel whilst you're driving. They are not venomous but if they do get really p.... Off they will bite and it hurts, but that's not a common thing they're nervous but chilled. There now do you feel more enlightened for knowing all that😆😆😆😆 now you try and wiggle that into a conversation.😆😆😆. I always look forward to the next video you make, so until then take care and laugh a lot. Cheers!

      I like spiders, but I've seen images and videos of huntsman spiders and I have to say if one ran up my leg or crawled out from anywhere when I was driving, I would go into full panic mode. 😂😂😂 Just got back from a family vacation and am eager to get back to painting. Cheers!

      @@chrisloudart I hope you had a wonderful time away with family, and I look forward to another video coming my way. The kitchen cupboards are going in today in mums little house, its all indoor work now, which is just as well because it's wet and windy here. Ceilings up most walls are up they should be finished today. Ceilings have been painted, and this week the boards should go onto the verandah, its count down now, they have less than 20 days left on their extended time, I had a word to them because things were just grinding on slowly. So I had a word and they agreed luckily, and the work has quickened which is good. How about a checkered design in painting it could be interesting or really terrible? Cheers!

    Chris- I often hear you mention using "Windsor blue" in many of your paintings. Is the Windsor blue you are talking about Phthalo blue? And if yes, do you use phthalo blue red shade or green shade?

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey Ann, Winsor blue just has the PB15 pigment and is similar to phthalo blue. I've seen Winsor blue called phthalo blue on some websites, but it does not have the PG7 (phthalo green) pigment like phthalo blue (PB15 & PG7) has. This webpage may help - www.winsornewton.com/na/paint/acrylic/galeria-acrylic/ If you click on Winsor blue and Phthalo blue it shows the pigment difference. I hope that helps.
