I think the weirdest part was her reaction to winning. Imagine calling a 109k allin on the turn running it twice and winning both with Jack high. Wouldn't most people be celebrating a little after bricking in your mind only to see J High is good? She seemed to know she was good before the cards were turned over and her only worry was to make sure Garrett was OK. Also odd she misspeaks and says Jacob instead of Garrett. She had a lot of wordsalad that came across very nervous. Obviously no proof right now just very weird.

Great observations. This is what I wrote, wondering if you might agree "She kept checking her hole cards before she called, so hard to understand how she could think she had bottom pair. The J high call would almost certainly have to be cheating. You got to wonder if she really is that out of it. Doug Polk said she seems to be lol. But she has played a lot the last 10 years, and the fact that she gave her hole cards a good look over before she called, how could she think she had bottom pair? Then she said she called with J high cause the though he had A high. She is either the most unqualified person on earth to play poker, totally spaced out, or cheating lol. Who knows, I was certain she cheated, but it's just so strange, and people can act so unpredictable when questioned and accused, not really sure what to think anymore, but very very very suspicious, and should be looked into, perhaps the FBI should interview her."

    • @user-hr2zy7ct8h
      @user-hr2zy7ct8h Год назад +6

@@notro7672 You're being sarcastic but that's actually the case. When she sais "I put you on Ace high", the way Garrett answers "Why did you call with Jack high then?" obviously implies she made a mistake. In her mind he's talking about the small bet on the flop, that's when she calls with Jack high. Now he gets even more aggravated, understandably so because what she sais doesn't make sense to anyone who looked at the cards. He asks "So you called all-in on the turn because....?", and she is upset with this question because she just explained it to him, she hit a bottom pair on the turn so why not call against Ace high? Now clearly upset she responds "yeah... because you didn't have sht", as in "it was a perfect read, why do you look like you saw a ghost and why are you complaining and asking the same question twice".
I cannot blame Garrett at all for responding this way to a Jack high 3-bet all-in call especially considering the conversation. But playing the hand back and just imagining her hand is J3, which she had the previous hand, it all adds up. Now it's a giant misunderstanding, credit to the commentators for already guessing she misread it, don't blame them for thinking it's impossible because she stares at those cards but from what she sais and the decisions she makes it's clear.
The thing that really set up this disaster is the table talk I think. They say "that was sick!" when the cards are revealed. Everyone is so speechless, that nobody repeats exactly what happened. Everyone is talking about the action, nobody points out directly how she won with Jack high because everyone seems to have to digest that. The reaction of the table is one of the most confusing reactions ever in itself. She's pumped with adrenaline just won a big hand expecting everyone to cheer for her, I'm wondering if she only realized what hse had done when Garrett tried to figure out wtf happened or if she realized earlier already and was embarassed so she kept it to herself.

SO why would you call an all in when you're quite far behind against ace high?
Her hand, in of itself at this point only really has good value if Garrett has 3-5 unsuited. SO really, at best she is hoping for a very marginal spot. At worst she's already drawing dead.

The using of the time chips is what really is giving the "maybe she had a friend watching the stream and to text when she is in hands and has the best or is winning" type scenario. Combine that with literally the only hand she could put Garrett on that she is beating, is exactly 78 off clubs, but the fact that she herself, NEVER utters that or begins to say something like yeah i thought that is what you had, thats what I put you on etc she kinda just mutters about the blockers and the odd Ace high, which beats her read, and other nonsense as she didn't have time to justify her call without giving away dead that she had some extra inside info. This is like a murder case where if you look at all the pieces individually, its not really suspicious or proof of guilt. But when you add all of them up and look at the big picture, it just does not make sense that she would make this call without knowing exactly what garrett was holding or be smart enough to defend your action by declaring the hand you think Garrett has. If you are that good at soul reading, why not proudly when J4 wins the hand say, yeah that is what I put you on rather than sit there looking like someone who didn't think far enough ahead to how you would answer the questions of why you called an all in for piles with Jack high and no draw. Any winning poker player knows something was up this hand and the likely scenario was her getting some kind of alert that her hand was ahead when Garrett shoved all in on the turn. Easy to program your phone to vibrate in a certain pattern when a certain person IE the person watching the live stream, sends a text message when you are facing a big bet or all in call. You would be naïve to think some of the degenerates who play poker at 2/5 won't cheat to get an edge, let alone the people playing for hundreds of thousands and with this sort of technology, its not the most difficult to cheat. Garrett had a right to think something was off.

There is much more to this than meets the eye. I can't wait to see what "revelations" come out on Friday as promised by Nick (though he said they would not come from him/HCL), and how the whole thing shakes out.
    1. It would be the most stupid spot ever, to try to cheat. Too obvious, and too lacking an edge. Garrett had an open ended straight flush draw plus two live cards. It was a coin flip. You don't cheat to "get the money in ahead" when your opponent has 21 outs (or even 19 with 2 of them in her hand).
    2. If she knew the river card, or just knew "Texas style" who was going to win from the shuffler, she sure wouldn't have asked to run it twice. Are people REALLY accusing her of knowing her hand would win BOTH rivers? Would she want to DOUBLE the chance of the dealer screwing up a burn card or something? No way.
    3. If she knew the river card or who was going to win a runout, then both the casino and the production team are at fault for dealing a crooked/insecure game.
    4. The hand prior to this, she had J3, this hand she had J4. Have you ever remembered your cards from the previous hand instead of the current hand? I have. I bet every street thinking I had TPTK, when all I really had was the nut nothing. It was at limit holdem, where firing every barrel isn't always effective!
    5. When she "was looking at her cards for 15 seconds" they didn't seem to be separated much, or raised much from the table. It's entirely possible that she just likes holding her cards that way, or was just staring at the Jack of Clubs, rather than checking that her kicker really was a 3. The brain also tends to see what it's expecting to see.
    6. When she was talking after the turn card, while considering calling the shove, it really seemed like she thought she had a 3 which the turn paired, or was at least representing that she had a 3. The paired 3 fits the desciption of a pretty bad hand, but still a bluff catcher. Jack high, much less so.
    7. When the first river card counterfeited the paired 3, her talking implied that she'd been counterfeited, or at least wasn't very hopeful about her chances. We all know the feeling of going from being ahead of an ace, to being behind an ace. Or in this case, suddenly behind an ace, king, or queen.
    8. She claimed that she didn't have a "small pair" when Garrett asked. She could have interpreted the question to mean "small (pocket) pair". And it's OK to lie during a hand!
    9. I find it completely normal to get confused about what I said during a hand, after a hand. Admittedly, I'm 65 and she's not, but it's easy to get flustered/defensive when embroiled in a controversy, especially in a hand you made big mistakes in, whether those mistakes are bet sizing, misreading cards, talking when you should have shut up, getting someone's stack size wrong, calculating outs wrong, calculating pot odds wrong, or anything else.
Regardless of whether Garrett thought he was cheated, his beef should have been with HCL, not with her. Once a pot is pushed to someone, it is theirs, and your beef becomes a beef with the casino. VERY unprofessional of him to take the money back from her away from the table, even if she was offering that. We've all given or at least seen little "refunds" AT THE TABLE, with the permission of the floor, in odd circumstances. Maybe an uninvolved player's card fouls/mucks an opponent's hand, or a chop wasn't spotted until after a pot was pushed, or an 80 year old fish misread the suit of a card at the other end of the table, etc. But moving chips between players away from the table, with or without accusations of cheating, simply should not be done, and I blame Garrett for accepting it, more than I blame her for offering it.

I once called a loose player with 10 6suited because I was so curious to make his previous action make sense to me and learn how he plays. It was a limit game and not an all-in call. He had 10 8off and took down the pot anyway with his kicker, was embarrassing to have to explain why I called when the other players all asked how I didn’t win but it really came down to just that, curiosity. Besides, I mostly thought I was beat by at least a pair and wouldn’t have to show my hand.
This drama that got started, then kept increasing, is unfortunate for both players because neither of their reputations will go unquestioned from now on in the comments of all the reaction videos of this hand. It’s going to be remembered for its novelty of a drama afterwards as well as just a bizarre call. As for ethical behavior, I think it’s gonna suck to be Garrett cause he’ll not hear the end of this for a long time.

If Garret would have won the pot he would have never complain about her calling his all in. Now do you think he was going to say “you lost the pot on the river let me return the money to you”

    • @trueneutral3092
      @trueneutral3092 Год назад

sorry, but her saying she had a bluff catcher only puts more blood on her hands, not less. the dupers delight/deceptive grin before she even called shows that she knows it's going to look bad when everyone sees her hand. note her pre-emptively mitigating the blowback by defending her call before she makes it because she knows the blowback is going to be strong the moment she turns her hand face up. that's also the reason it takes her so long to actually turn them up. she knew her hand was good, and she was slightly ashamed to have done what she did. when people make legitimate extremely strong calls on others who are bluffing, they are proud to turn it up and show everyone they knew the person was bluffing. she couldn't pass up the opportunity, but could sense the outrage that was coming.. her giving the money back (when has anyone ever done this willingly?) supports this and only makes it worse for her.

also, her hand isn't what most would consider a bluff catcher. typically, the minimum strength hand referred to a bluff catcher would be at least K/A high. that his hand was one of the ONLY hands that her hand was a bluff catcher against paints her into a corner for having said "but i have a bluff catcher" rather than getting her out of it.

This was, by far, one of the strangest hands I have ever seen. When she rolled her hand I feel like she felt like the table was going to explode and everyone was going to be like “ohhhhh shiiiiit!!!” but it was just a little awkward as everyone tried to process what the hell just happened. Garrett’s all in is great because he will get folds from better hands (small pairs, even over pairs, better flush draws). He has an open ended straight flush draw. Even if he gets called by a 10 (which will happen sometimes) he still has a ton of outs. That all in folds out better hands than J4o lol. I think it was great shove and a dumb call. Garrett does that for value with hands like A10 to cooler worse 10s. She 100% did NOT misread her hand because she checked her hand like 15 seconds before she called. She also said when she asked Garrett what would make him feel better about it, he said to split it. She just gave it all back to him. Andy asked her why she gave it all back and she said “I don’t know”.

      1. Staying true to your style of play is what gets you through the ups and downs of poker.
      2. Patiently wait for tables that play to your strengths. (If you are tight find those loose tables.. etc. Etc.)
      3. If you are not getting good vibes walk away.
      4. If you can't spot the players you want to exploit in the first 20 minutes you can plan on being exploited.
      5. Don't play outside of your means. Bankroll management is key to work through fluctuations.
      6. Your poker bankroll should be separate from your bank account. If you start dipping into your utility bill money to fund poker you have a problem.
      7. Bad beats.. part of life.. part of poker. Chin up and judge yourself by your play and getting in with the best of it and not by the runner runner someone pulled out of their ass to clean you out.
      8. Always walk away after a bad beat. 5 min. 5 days. Whatever. Just walk away and give yourself time. Tilt is always realized retroactively.
      9. Have fun. Poker is fun. Enjoy the ride.

If she was cheating she would've stolen $19,000 worth of equity.
In poker most hand except like AA, KK, QQ make money from getting some percentage of folds when you are behind, even AK makes more money by making ppl fold than value betting.
So her not folding a must fold hand costs Garrett.

After he lost, Garrett could not accept the fact she called with such a bad hand and still won so he went to Ryan. To be fair, I think Robbi OFFERED the money back to Garrett. I don't think he demanded it. But he did take it.
Weird stuff happens in poker hands. Without knowing exactly what she had, Garrett tried to force her out and knew that even if his opponent calls the all in, he still had a good chance to win it with the straight and the flush draw. In fact he was a slight favorite. But she called and lady luck didn't smile on him this time.
The announcer Bart seems to have a bias in favor of Garrett and immediately started asking if something nefarious was going on. (Bias also shown in Charles/Garrett incident)
If Garrett would have won, there is NO WAY Garrett would have given the money back because she misread her hand.
I agree it was a bad call but she doesn't have to explain it at all. If Garrett would have won there would be no talk of cheating, only how bad a call it was. Wouldn't a cheater have to know what the river was going to be anyway? That brings in all kinds of conspiracy theories.
Garrett really looks like a sore loser. I wonder how Nick will defend him on this one.
I don't know but I think eventually Garrett will say he was wrong and try to give the money back to save his reputation. However Robbi might not take it lol. What a fiasco for HCL and their Golden Boy.

He probably doesn’t do this with Q, K, A or Pair plus because those have some showdown value. He’s is polarizing his hand. If he bets smaller, she folds. it's not just what she said.. it's the totality of the situation. there are some incredibly accurate body-language clusters that indicate she knew exactly how bad the situation looked, from an omnipotent/omnipresent perspective -- meaning, she understood the entire scope of the hand, and then pre-emptively tried to mitigate the blowback she knew was incoming EVEN BEFORE SHE SAID CALL. examples of this: (a) dupers delight / her grinning a short time before she says call, (b) her asking him if he wanted her to call (to shift responsibility onto him, instead of her). It was only when she realized that all of this wasn't going to be worth the 120k she took from him that she decided to ret-con some made up story that she thought she had a 3 (she literally stares at her hand for 20 seconds when the action was on her, after he shoved).
in body-language analysis, it's never one thing that leaves a smoking gun. it's the odds that multiple things put together occur at the same time leading you to know whether someone is being deceptive or not. in that moment, she had no reason to appear deceptive because if she were truly conflicted about the call, all the smirking and dupers delight wouldn't have occurred.

Another important point missed by everyone. Mathematically Garrett is favored to win at that point before the river. I'd take those odds any day.

At least Andy has some wherewithal to keenly ask the heated now cowboyless hat guy, how did he make her give the money back ? And follow up questions to figure out what happened because he was quite suspicious Garrett of all people would rob or steal from her as in a casino that would be the only way for him to force her to give the money back. Andy knew damn well she gave it back and it even further heightened his senses as to something sneaky happening.

She is undoubtedly telling the truth. Garret embarrassed himself and left.

Garrett got absolutely berated by Rick though, like he was being harassed, I'd leave at that point regardless.

If he can’t prove she was cheating Garrett is completely in the wrong. He’s the one who is always shoveling money in pots trying to bully people and now he’s taken it off the felt and bullied her for the money back.

What does her *_"Let me scratch my face, cuz that’s the shit I got"_* comment even mean?
