An all-in or massive 5 bet pre-flop pretty much announces your hand and he would have achieved no more value than that $5k Mariano raised it to. I think he played it fine. It's just unfortunate the ace came out on the flop (frikkin' ace magnets). Long term though his play was fine.

Sorry, but I’m gonna criticize your KK hand. I think the downswing is affecting your brain. You’re playing the standup game. Your opponents are betting wider- in position too. I think there is no shot this isn’t a 5 bet to 21,000 atleast.

Standard tournament play or standard cash gameplay I would agree with you, but when the standup game is on. You cannot automatically just put especially a player like Mariano on an ace in that hand.

I think it's ALWAYS a massive mistake to flat-call KK in a game that plays as loose as the HCL streams do. If this was a typical Bellagio game, that plays really tight, then I can see flatting. When players are VPIPing 35-40%, there isn't much benefit; especially against a player that has NO problem ripping it all in with an air ball bluff like Mariano.
To realize you are in a downswing means you understand that you are playing bad because of past session. You are afraid of losing and it’s affecting how you play. I love you man and wanna see you grow but at this moment it seems like past sessions are affecting your play.

Dont worry, the people criticizing you for the kk hand never faced a 30 k jam on the river with 2nd pair so they have no idea. Also shoving it or reraising so deep gets called off only by AA,AK. Everything beats you at that flop. Cash games are not tournaments, there are better spots that that. Keep it up
