Those Military Gor-Tex Bivy bags are the best. I have two and the boy and I take them on our Boy Scout camp outs. Great short and to the point video.

    Excellent information.
I was just looking into this very issue a couple of days ago; planning to do a few days of solo camping to get away from Vegas for a while. I am totally convinced now that the MSS is the way to go.

Great video, very informative. The US military always had better gear than us Brits.

Yeah man, I live by the shore of Lake Superior and it gets chilly here. I am also a vet and have used most of the same setup for a really long time. One upgrade recommendation if vehicle camping; the Exped Megamat sleep pad, that thing is simply unreal and more comfortable than my regular mattress and has a great R-value as well. Just don’t think you’ll be leaving base camp with it, unless you are out with pack animals.
I appreciate the straightforward and down to earth approach sir, good stuff.

I slept in this system in the late 80’s when this system was new in -30 and I was as snug as a bug in a rug.
