  • Various Television commercials from Australia:
This advertisement for Tooheys draught was first broadcast on Australian television in the year 1987.
I don't know if this was an attempt to sell baseball to Australians, or to sell Tooheys to Americans. Either way, a not-so-typical 'how do you feel' Tooheys ad.

Thanks for sharing this one. Over 30 years ago... Our school was lucky enough to be cast as the crowd in this forgotten classic commercial. Love it. Although I'd say its a few years older than '87....This would've been shot in '82....

Ha. Is that the name that has escaped me @ the 20 sec mark. The kid waving his arm about next to 'the red hat guy'...??

This guy who starred in this ad was my primary school teacher in the early 80s, which was pretty cool at the time. Funny how we never played baseball for PE.

Thanks for sharing mate! I thought I'd never find this classic...but now I can use it to show our American cousins that us Aussies can play a mean game of baseball! lol

Did he just hit a walk-off, 2-out, inside-the-park grand slam? He deserves more than a Tooheys or two.

I always thought that this was a funny ad for the Australian market. I first saw it around 1987 while I was living in Canberra as a child... Playing baseball!

Pitcher was Cassell. (First name eludes me. Maybe Darren?). Played reps for nsw and maybe even Australia. Father was Bobby Cassell who played Sydney baseball with my father for Marrickville.

Batter was Neil Barraclough. He taught at Blacktown boys high and I was a student at Blacktown Girls high and went out with him a few times lol

Definitely my favourite 1980's Tooheys ad of all!!! I don't know if they were trying to recreate the MLB or if these are local baseball clubs?!! If it is supposed to be Major League Baseball then the teams are Baltimore Orioles and maybe Detroit Tigers but I don't remember the Tigers using these colors even in the 80's?! However the Orioles colors are spot on and I like Baltimore?! Um no black player either lolz?!!

Too my knowledge The Tigers uniforms belong to Auburn orioles as all the players were from the Orioles
