Max is showing his dominance. Poor Kayla getting shuffled into a strange place, she's doing well considering. A fascinating video the meeting of The Mighty Max and Kayla.
That's what I thought. He Wants to welcome & like her BUT he also wants to make Sure she Knows He was here First & this is HIS domain! She's just totally confused as to "What in the heck New is going to happen Next?" 🌹 They do look good together & Max probably is lonely. Too bad he can't have a pet like Coco getting a kitten... (I'm sure that would be short lived)
Oh is she beautiful! I love her orange color and spots. Max can have a friend for a little while. I hope you enjoy her for the time that you have her Bernie and Max!
I hope it's short enough that they don't get too attached... Can u just imagine the added expense & the others wanting her back & trying to explain it to Max & Kayla? 😿
Thanks for taking in Kayla - an interest for Max - she's beautiful.. You do an amazing job looking after big Max and working full time, one strong lady.
I know Max and Kayla are in the best of care with you Bernie. May all go well for everyone. Take extra care as Max is probably a bit jealous. Thank you so much for sharing their beautiful greeting. 😚💕
Even if Kayla doesn’t stay very long this will be an exciting episode in Max’s life (and it’s also fascinating to watch them interact). That alone is of great value in my opinion. Hope this all works out well for all parties involved.
Nice to meet you Kayla. She must have been so stressed on her trip over. Kayla is already loving it with you Bernie. You are taking such good care of her. You know exactly what to do. Bless you for fostering her
What beautiful cats! 😍 thank you for helping Kayla ... you are a fabulous babysitter. She is so lovely, and STRONG! Your planning the enclosure this way is brilliant. Looking forward to future videos of this adventure. 😀
You're something special Bernie. You have a heart of gold and I admire you with deep respect. ❤️❤️❤️ Kayla is beautiful she was very welcoming to Max she bumped her head towards him. and how she laid down closer to the ground. Blessings Bernie for your gift to help these babies. 🙏❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷
Thanks Bernie. Love your work. As you accurately suggested, be wary of Kayla. If you suspect she has not had the socialization with humans like you have with Max coupled with new surroundings; her mood could change in an instant. Stay safe.
The fact that Max seems surpisingly cool with her in his home (and vise versa) you should definitely keep her!! 😁 I wanna drive down there and get her!! But I know Zya would not be happy! Maybe if she was spayed she'd be ok about it but after watching her interact with wild ones it makes me doubt that she would except another cat. lol
What an opportunity to see these two side by side in real life, same genus but from different continents. Absolutely a spectacular once in a life time opportunity.
So hilarious...Max is totally fine with Kayla until the prospect of sharing HIS Mumma is put on the table (ie you entered his enclosure) and suddenly...! Then as soon as your out of his enclosure again, he's all 'head rub lynx smooches' and 'submissive headed' and purring with her! 😅
I Think SHE Started that "aggression session" but Max was finishing it "Bernie Is Mine U Intruder!!! & don't u forget it Kayla!" 😼 "I'm the Good One, momma" 💕
In my county in Sweden, our district's animal is the lynx, so they're special in my heart. Love her! The eurasian aka lynx lynx is a very shy species, in the wild it's incredible if you ever manage to see one. Even in the zoo where they're used to humans they don't come out in the open in a hurry. I love this animal, they're so beautiful and unique. Incredible that Kayla is out and about this way, amazing. :') I am kinda with you on not really trusting her like Max, especially since you don't know her at all, and how she's been raised and handled throughout her life. Hope to see more of her while she's there. 😍
There is also a small population of lynxes in Latvia. They are small in size, but we love them very much. However, the largest and most beautiful lynxes live in Scandinavia.
Hi Bernie ! 👋 Kayla is a beautiful lynx ! ❤ She seems to be settling in quickly and clearly loves her "new digs" ! 😸 The damage that she did to the mat and especially her transport carrier was surprising ! 😮 But, at 35 lbs., she is capable of it and tearing up a human being just as easily ! Going from purring to snarling without warning ! Hopefully, she will get friendlier with you and Max as time goes on...❤
Poor girl! She must have been in a terrible position if having no room to move. She never expected that door to open for her! Beautiful Max is getting his Christmas coat!
How charming to see these 2 most beautiful creatures interact in unexpected ways🤗Miss Kayla sure let everyone know how displeased she was about her move🙄Domestic house cats do not tolerate any change in their daily lives well at all, apparently neither do kept wild cats🤷Thank you, dear Bernie, for sharing this experience with your adoring fans, Max would not be the gentle boy he can be if not for your love and good care of him❤
That sort of answered my question about Max' behaviour changing in the presence of another lynx. My small cat wreaked vengeance on my hand from another cat being outside. Just some scratches, but I can imagine what a lynx could do if it were aggravated.
I’ve seen & heard lions huff, and Kevin Richardson the Lion Whisperer huffs back at them. But lions are not lynx! Kayla is very muscular, and of course, so lovely! Very best wishes! Fingers crossed for peaceful co-existence!
Maxwell is the king. Kayla is beautiful. I hope she gets to stay in a place that will give her permanency and happiness. Money, time, and effort are factors in keeping exotic creatures. All pets cost money, but the Lynx cat is more high maintenance than most cats. Another one costly to feed and maintain health wise, is a Puma. They need food and other things too. You are wise to know you cannot keep both of them. Thanks for sharing these Majestic cats.
Yes, we've had cats on a temporary basis - until they die ! The last one was found following someone else home - and they didn't want to keep it - so it came to us on a temporary basis - and stayed !
A few months ago foresters found proof that we have now a wild one of these in the forests in the region in western Germany (Hunsrück Hills) I live in. First hunters found tracks (Lynxes are a protected species in Germany and the hunters are not allowed to shoot them) and the foresters put up some trail cameras. One managed to capture the lynx. This would probably be the first lynx in our region since they got exterminated here during the 19th century. It probably migrated here from Eastern Europe, just like the wolves we have now here as well.

It just amazes me how beautiful both cats are. I agree with your sentiments that you are just looking after Kayla for the time being; simpy put she's not your Lynx unless you make it official; and if she was, you'd be taking on a huge responsibility because they both cats need taylored care, even though they are both Lynxs'. I think of the huge age difference between them too. Max needs you to give him lots of love and care and he depends on you for that. It takes a lot of time and concentrated dedicated foucused energy to get to know Kayla's personality just caring for her knowing that she may be leaving soon. I commend you for being kind hearted and giving Kayla a caring hand to be in a nice place to stay. Who knows, maybe through the fence her, and Max my fall in love. Max and Kayla sitting in a tree... kissing etc. LOL wouldn't that be something! 😏😻 + 😻👍💖
