What an incredible animal. I have spent a lot of time in far northern Vermont and New Hampshire and I have never seen one in the wild. Where I live now (central Connecticut) I have seen many bobcat but I would live to see the Lynx regain a foothold in the northern U.S. Love to hear him purr and to see him so happy. He's such a good boy. He loves going on Safari with Mommy. I hope you always stay on your toes Bernie if a rabbit bolted out of the bush I think you would be taking an unexpected trip across the yard butt skiing lol.
@Jeff Mitchell - OMG Jeff, I didn't think of that. He would have pulled my shoulder out of the socket for sure. To tell you the truth, I'm always nervous when I bring him out and have to watch him like a hawk!
LOL!! When I first viewed this video, I was thinking EXACTLY THE SAME THING!!! One of those little brown cotton-tails is going to make a run for it, and Bernie will just be along for the ride. I'll bet that cat can exert quite a bit of force on that leash when he decides he's going places. Imagine encountering someone else walking a dog and Max decides he wants a piece of that pooch! Max could probably take most dogs in a tussle.
@@wildlifebernie I'd suggest getting one of the heavy duty extendable leads with a brake for very large dogs, to attach to his harness. It'll give him more leeway and you can slow him before stopping him. Also little chance of him pulling you off balance. So you won't constantly feel like you have to stop him bolting. It'll probably make him calmer too and you'll eventually be able to take him for proper walks. Also, one of the jacket style harnesses would be a lot more secure, and wouldn't dig into him.
Thank you Justin. Bless you with many wonderful times in your future. Hey Max, your looking nice and handsome. Your mom us very brave. I'm totally impressed

So reminds me of my Rosie when he would go on walks with me around our apartment complex common areas. Always got comments from the neighbors about a cat on a harness and leash. He does exactly the same things Rosie did! A walk is supposed to be a walk, not a plunk down wherever and scent the ground.....! Funny, you almost said the same thing I used to say to Rosie when I got him into his harness, "step and step!". Rosie's harness looked like police body armour, even had a St Michael police medal that looked like a police badge. He had a S.W.A.T. badge on it, too! @@wildlifebernie Hi Bernie. In the photos of Fierca, the Zoo Montana Kitty, she's wearing a couple of harnesses. It's the black and red one that looks the most secure to me. It covers the chest area, with openings for the neck and the front legs. It also appears to fit very snugly, so it is difficult to imagine how a cat could back out of it.....but then, I have never taken a lynx for a walk.
