First page of my rule-a-matic bilge pump install manual, "no check valves". Boat builder installed one anyways and the bilge pump never worked reliably.
Many women I have known would have done nothing but complain about the work Sierra is doing. Sierra is a great worker . You two make a top notch couple
Whom ever eventually buys this boat is going to have many hours of video to review and feel good about the job you have done. I have been impressed with your knowledge from the first video of this series. I also love seeing the Instagram videos of you enjoying your hard work.
Have to admit I thought this was a bad idea. But of course I'm not them, so couldn't choose for them. But now it seems like a great idea. Mainly, cuz it got them back into the boating world, which is why most of their viewers subscribed. And, seeing the transition from something that was esthetically ugly to now almost esthetically gorgeous has been something to behold. You guys completely rock. :-)
I'm sure the skills came from all the work she has done. But Sierra seems to be skilled and has a happy work attitude. You are both doing a great job. Looks good guys.
You did such a great job on the bottom paint. 1st, I love the color, 2nd when you took the tape off of the waterline.... it looked SO nice! The Mountain Myst is looking so much better. Congratulations! Hard work pays off!
The thinking that went into the bilge pump system is a credit to your ingenuity. Spot-on! Yes, by all means, clear out that sludge. It will also look better.
Watching you two put so much blood, sweat and tears into this huge project is amazing and both of your pure candor of it is so enjoyable to watch, no bs just the way it is. Looking good.
We know you tired that's a lot of hard work and the two of you make a great team that thing looks like it's brand new. We know the video work is hard to do but don't keep us in the dark we just love watching you guys work hard it's entertaining and sometimes you get feedback from us as well that keeps you encouraged and working hard
This is the kind of project that whatever the money put it, the resale value will be greater. All the bottom rudder work looks great. The whole boat is shaping up into something very fine.
Just joined your crew. Jeannette and I have owned two trawlers over a 25 year period. The last was a 47 foot Tradewinds. We lived on it for almost 12 years. We spent most of our time on the east coast of the USA and months at a time in the Bahamas, mostly Exumas. We have since sold our big boat and own a waterfront home in the Florida Keys. We have been following you since your engine rebuild in the Caribbean. I love your passion and enthusiasm for the boating lifestyle. I sometimes want to sell everything and move back aboard. We miss the lifestyle and numerous cruising grounds. Question......We have looked and follow many blogs of Catamarans. When will your boat be done? Thanks for the entertainment. We love watching you guys. Jerry and Jeannette
Even though I follow your Insta and have seen her in all her glory, I still come here to watch the process. I'm so proud to see such an unsightly forgotten boat restored. Great job kiddos. 💪
Your videos bring moments of joy and angst recalling my boating experience the mid 80's through the mid 90's, owning 3 different trawler styles in various states of repair - but in all cases, there is always some level of maintenance required during the boat's life. Thanks!
It is a pleasure watching Sierra crawling around in such tight locations. And by "pleasure," I mean I am so completely glad its not me in there!! Not even close to trying it anymore. Ah youth. Enjoy it while you can, both of you are so flexible and fit.
Tricks for keeping paint out of the can lid lip groove: I see you've in the past used the tape method - cover a part of the can lip with 2 pieces of tape to form a vee to pour over. I've sometimes had trouble getting the tape to stick well to the can lip. The other method is save a can lid off empty can and cut out a hole in center part (close to an edge) of the lid.. knock the lid onto the paint can and pour through that hole. Make the hole big enough for your brushes you might dip into the paint and can then scrape excess off brush against that hole in the lid. Hope I make sense and save someone some trouble of keeping paint or whatever out of the can lip.
Learn something everyday, today it was the rationale for anti syphon loops instead of check valves. If it is not should be part of the standard checklist for marine surveyors it was added to our list.
You can use a wet/dry vacuum to get the gunk out of your bilge, just add some water and stir it all up so the gunk is dispersed into the water and go to town with the vacuum😁
The troller looks amazing. The 2 of you do really good thorough work. You are definitely doing the defever justice. I've always liked trollers. Especially the older ones. Alot of manufacturers don't make boats like they used to.
Omg the communication breakdown through the throughholes was hilarious. You could have done a Seinfeld-tier comedy bit with that. Btw, why do they call it "muriatic acid" when it's just hydrochloric acid? I never understood that. Seems like you'd have to wait longer to get any appreciable help with the hard growth.
You guys are really doing a great job. I cannot wait to see how it all turns out. Looking forward to you watching your first trip once everything is done. As always I left you a big old thumbs up and look forward to the next video.
What I have always done in the past is take a flat screwdriver and punched it through the bottom of the lip in about four or five places. That allows paint that goes into the lip to drain back into the can, and doesn't interfere with the lid from sealing..
Great paint job guy and gal. For me, this has been one of your best episodes. Even better than your earlier tri-Maran ones. Can't wait to see the deck painting one coming....
An excellent video - as always! SUGGESTION: at the beginning of the video (3:54 - 4:-08) make sure your float switch is not underneath that cable/hose (red color, I think) or if you do get water in your bilge, you risk a malfunction of the switch.
First page of my rule-a-matic bilge pump install manual, "no check valves". Boat builder installed one anyways and the bilge pump never worked reliably.
Ditto. I put one in the engine exhaust on one of my boats. Cost me about $6k. Expensive lesson.
Watching her come back to life is so amazing, the two of you have an incredible work ethic.
Glad to see younger people with common sense and good work ethic. Boat looks beautiful
Many women I have known would have done nothing but complain about the work Sierra is doing. Sierra is a great worker . You two make a top notch couple
Many women I know are better than men in practically everything. So I guess you just don't know the right women.
Billy's talents are unlimited!
Sierra, I'm just making fun, you know you rock!
You have to love a good edit.
Loads of men would complain just as much. Yeah. These guys are a great team.
Lol ~ truth, but does your wife of any female family read your comments.
All they have to do is look at your RUclips channel.
She looks lovely. I can hear her saying "thank you"
Great progress. I love your freshly painted bottom!🤣😂😅
I’m amazed at the level of knowledge these two young kids know in regards to redoing this boat. There not afraid to tackle anything.
Whom ever eventually buys this boat is going to have many hours of video to review and feel good about the job you have done. I have been impressed with your knowledge from the first video of this series. I also love seeing the Instagram videos of you enjoying your hard work.
Quite impressive, kids!
She is looking amazing 👍. You two are a great team……and Sierra has such a great attitude about everything. 😎
That extra pump on the timer is genius
Have to admit I thought this was a bad idea. But of course I'm not them, so couldn't choose for them. But now it seems like a great idea. I can’t wait to see a episode with your engine room and ford power plants. I did see the teaser 59 seconds. Lol👍
Not into single hulls, but yall have done an excellent job, restoring the old tub back to life.
Something to do while waiting for your cat.
The thinking that went into the bilge pump system is a credit to your ingenuity. Spot-on! Yes, by all means, clear out that sludge. It will also look better.
and paint it so it looks pretty and is easier to keep clean
Watching you two put so much blood, sweat and tears into this huge project is amazing and both of your pure candor of it is so enjoyable to watch, no bs just the way it is. Looking good.
WOW thats amazing, that bird shit really takes it to another level, na looks good. Doesnt look like a 100 dollar boat now. Well done

Both of you are super energetic, I don't know if I would have the drive to rehab an old boat when you have a new one being built.
The hard work continues to pay off!!! What a gorgeous transformation!
I can understand being excited about a fresh bottom. 😊
I am impressed by all the care you have put into the restoration
This is the kind of project that whatever the money put it, the resale value will be greater. All the bottom rudder work looks great. The whole boat is shaping up into something very fine.

You two do amazing work. That boat ain't selling again for $100.00.
Fantastic. Awesome job. What a big transition. You guys should be so proud of your work.

Wow, I really like that green bottom paint. Nice work.
Respect for what you accomplish, greetings from the Netherlands
The troller looks amazing. The 2 of you do really good thorough work. You are definitely doing the defever justice. I've always liked trollers. Especially the older ones. Alot of manufacturers don't make boats like they used to.
Love you both, congratulations on your progress, keep up the great work. 😎👍,things are looking great.👍
Looking great guys
Billie, she is really looking GOOD! (And the boat, too!) 😉
It looks good, making progress, I know it’s taking longer than you thought, but you’ll be proud of it when it’s done
Muriatic acid is slightly weaker and has impurities...hydrochloric acid is stronger and pure.... So it's the same but different...
Awesome job
I was a boatswains mate years ago. Nothing you are doing goes against anything I've been a part of. Great job!
Good work
Really good colour choice guys, looking excellent. Got to be happy at the result.
You guy's have an amazing amount of boat flipping skills, that's rare. Love the way you took this on, it's been a great adventure.
Great Job Guys!

Great job you guys
Great work guys! The boat is coming out to be great!!
Looks so great! Thanks for sharing.
Excited for the aft deck paint! Bottom looks great 👍
Great episode
They ought to make a pair of tapered flexible strips to fill the croove in the paint can with!
What I have always done in the past is take a flat screwdriver and punched it through the bottom of the lip in about four or five places. That allows paint that goes into the lip to drain back into the can, and doesn't interfere with the lid from sealing..
looks so Good
1.3K+ like, 8,495th view - congrats on getting to the clean bottom part. Looking good.
Great paint job guy and gal. For me, this has been one of your best episodes. Even better than your earlier tri-Maran ones. Can't wait to see the deck painting one coming....
Looking great. Fantastic Job!
I love the new bottom color!
