My goodness. Lawrence has been running the farm for years and his folks before that. Yes he’s messy and not organized, but he knows where things are and what has to be done. Meredith , you've inspired other farmer's wives and daughters to get involved more with helping their husbands and fathers. And Westley and Austin, you are both rising stars, heroes to your mother and father, for being there to help and do what needs to be done. I know you think there is a better life away from the dirt and dust. There isn't. What do I know. I never lived or worked on a farm. Trust me. I'm older than mom and dad and They can't do this forever, and they will downsize and hire people if they have to. And you'll be stuck in an apartment paying rent , working your tails off slaving for that dollar that won't be yours. It'll go in your hands and into some landlord's hand and pay for his property. Am I saying anything? I've been watching your mom's videos for a couple years now,and I see how well you help and how good your are. Mom maybe doesn't realize what good she is doing to inspire other farm moms and wives, and you two inspire sons and daughters to help their dads . Stepping down off my soap box now. I'll preach at you next time . For now keep up the great work Bernard's ! America needs you! I salute you from a city , where you don't want to be.
It’s very important to know and see how very hard farmers and family work, you don’t know until you do live it. It’s no 9 to 5, it’s a life of total commitment with dirt manure, but it’s so much more, but by darn it’s a great life no boss, no catty chatter, fresh air long hours, worry if everything is growing, just think about it, I know it’s a lot of everything, so youall salute the farmer, and pray the jerks in office leave them alone and play fair , ok I am off my soap box but thanks, be kind. I know you probably have a fire extenguisher on the combine but we always have a big tractor and harrow hooked up. If we can we also bring a 1000 gal water wagon to the field. One or both have saved a combine or field in the past. Very dangerous to leave him by himself but I know he is stubborn that way. That boy is growing up...

Meredith, I have a suggestion for LB for the Gerdy. With the head on Gerdy, take white spray paint and mark where the head hooks to Gerdy. The first time Gerdy is used, it's hard to remember where it lines up. This saves time and frustration! Thanks for sharing.

My grandmother use to make homemade blackberry pie with homemade vanilla ice cream, oh those were the days, love the videos!!
Meredith, I don't know whether you or Austin would try this, but Grapenut ice cream was the favorite of the church socials where we lived in Central PA. It doesn't sound good at first, but we never brought any home after the social was over. 1 can Eagle brand milk
2 C Grapenuts cereal [not flakes] 2 cans evaporated milk
milk, to cover 2 Tbsp to 1/4 Cup whole milk, to taste
5eggs, beaten
2 to 3 C. sugar, to taste
2 pkg Junket freezing mix
Soak Grapenuts in milk to soften overnight. Add beaten eggs, sugar, Junket freezing mix, Eagle brand milk and a dash of vanilla. Add enough whole milk to fill freezer can 1/2 to 2/3 full. Mix and freeze according to individual freezer instructions.

I grew up farming and harvesting, and I started on an A Baldwin and 55 JD. Then a C, my last combine wa an N6 Corn Special.
Loved the machines.
My mother-in-law swears by her baby food plum cake. Even made sure that I had a copy so I could make it for hubby. Found out he did not like it anyway😂

Meredith, I have seen men fight over my biscuits,,all I put in them is
Two cups of quality self rising flour
A cup of buttermilk
And a big handful of crisco lard
When you hand pat them out use enough that it looks like it will be too much
Baist the pan with real butter
Baist the top of each biscuit with butter
Bake ten minutes on 350 ,,then
Turn off bake and turn on broil and turn on oven light so you can watch them brown to the color you desire,,,if you have to stop watching them hire a replacement that is responsible lol,,,it only take two minutes to brown tops
Mac's pride peaches McBee SC. Worth the trip. They have a nice museum of old cars and antiques , and a old time store with a lot of grocery veg items and been a few years but bunch of different flavors of ice cream. The wife got some of their peaches last week and really good. Enjoy the videos.

Ya gotta focus on your walk!! You can't talk to anyone because it will, artificially, raise your heart rate(learned from the personal trainer i had). Find your heart RANGE online then you'll know what your target heart rate should be(within your heart range)

Merideth use a toothbrush to clean that blade...it really works well and you don't cut yourself.
Why don't you adjust the price of your freezer beef to reflect the live prices? Farming and Ranching profit margins are too tight as it is.

I remember my daughter had tto have soy milk back in 1973 when she was a baby. I believe it is still available.
