Thanks Russ, I have the DJI 500, think I will get the 1000 now after your testing. It's so quiet I can use it for CPAP in edition to drone battery charging while camping.

Hey, I wanted to say thank you for the time you put into this video! I did end up purchasing the DJI power 1000. But man, I'm sending it back. I ended up with the ecoflow delta 2. The deal-breaker for me was charging from a DC to DC charger while on the road. The Eco Flo is better set up for this situation. As I found out quickly that is most important to me.

    Good video, thank you
One way around the expanded battery is to connect via the solar input port a regular 24v 50Ah battery for additional capacity. I use a QWW battery or 2S PowerQueen batteries and this expands my operation.
Thank you for doing this fair comparison

I have the DJI Power 1000, as well as the Honda generator. The DJI is great to bridge a power outage, but it's limited to 1 kWh, and might be used up quickly. In this case, the Honda (which is only limited by the amount of fuel you have at hand) can quickly recharge the DJI at 1200 Watts. So they actually make a perfect pair.

I bought the 500 for business to charge drones on the go, and it’s phenomenal. While I’m a tech junkie, and love apps, I’m glad DJI didn’t include an app, cause I’m afraid this may have put the power series on the Gov hit list. No connection, no worries.

With one of EcoFlow's recent promotions, i got the Delta 2 with their alternator charger for only a $100 more than the DJI 1000, so that was a no brainer for me. It's interesting that DJI doesn't offer a separate fast DC charger for the drone batteries. Great comparison of the features of both the Delta 2 and Power 1000! Competition is a win for the consumer

First time seeing your video, and first time I heard about DJI. Great video and great comparison. I've been a fan of EcoFlow for years and have several of their power banks all first generation and just recently bought 2 Delta 2 units which are fantastic. I do like DJI a lot and seems that it will give EcoFlow a run for its money. I have 2 questions that I would need to know before I ever consider buying DJI. First of course is cost and the second being Customer Support. I know EcoFlow has had issues with Customer Support but they are getting better and eventually will take care of you if you have patience.
I just recently had to send two Delta Max 2000 and a River Pro back to them after using them for over 2 years. It is a slow process having to do videos or send pictures of the problems but once they saw the issue they told me I had to replace all 3 of them. They send me 3 shipping labels and I made an appointment with FedEx and they came and picked them up at my house.
I was given a choice of waiting longer for repairs or they would replace them immediately with refurbished units. I chose the refurbished units as they hold the same warranty as new. They sent me a brand new unit for the River Pro as a replacement as they had no refurbished units. To make things sweeter, they were kind enough to include an expansion battery for the River Pro for the inconvenience of being without my units at no cost to me. All in all, from the time I spoke with them to the time I received my replacement units took a total time of 3 weeks. So for me EcoFlow stands by their product and I will have to wait and see if DJI does the same. Also for your viewers information. I am glad that I did not purchase expansion batteries because they would have been useless for 3 weeks without the main unit. Thanks for your time and your video, great job!

great and relevant video, thanks much Russ! is it 100% confirmed there is no way to use an EcoFlow to fast-charge Mavic batteries? initially thought the SDC was an XT60/XT90 adapter at first, but after researching it, it looks to be just slightly different ofc 🤦‍♂ Prior to the DJI power being released, I've been heavily invested in the EcoFlow system, and would be sooo so nice to be able to fast charge Mavic batteries in a pinch. any solutions you can think of? thanks man!

Problem with Ecoflow is if you ever have a problem you have to ship the unit in. I cracked the display screen cover on mine and they want me to ship it in. Just for a replacement front clear cover over the screen. I just want them to ship the part to me so I can avoid unnecessarily shipping my heavy units. It's costly, it's unnecessary, heat damages these units and I have no control over how many days the thing will sit on a hot shipping truck before it gets looked at. I have no idea how many times it will be dropped or bumped. So in my mind, the unit should be shipped in as a last resort, not the very first option. Not when the only problem is a cracked screen cover which would be less than a dollar to put in the mail. So while I am content with Ecoflow, I am rather unsatisfied with the power station industry as a whole. Meanwhile my Honda EU2200i will still fire up on the first pull and I can work on it myself. So advantages...disadvantages...

My thoughts are that you aren’t going to use it every time you charge the batteries. Only for long missions or if you are away from convenient power. It’s a luxury, rather than a dependency. I agree that the batteries should be charged normally most of the time.

I like the battery backup portable power they are great. But let's be real you can't charge fast enough when using one if you're powering your camper with everything running. Or your house for that matter. That's where gas powered generators will always win over battery backup. If your power goes out from a storm and its out for days a battery backup won't cut it. Don't get me wrong love the battery backup but in the real-world gas generator will always win.

    • @michaelshrader5139

Speaking from the Houston Texas area tonight, it's been 4 days of misery trying to keep my gas power generator "fed" with almost no gas stations operational and the few that were open had lines a mile long with strict limits how much gas you could buy. I started this event with enough fuel on hand for 2 solid days of runtime with my 10K watt gas generator, but it went thru it shockingly fast running a window AC unit 2 box freezers and a fridge. Yet, the sun was shining down on us INTENSLY since Tuesday! I would suggest that for emergency power at least, a gas generator AND a solar power generator with panels might both have a place in your garage. My power finally restored tonight, but it's been a difficult 4 days and over 1 million are still without power with no restoration date yet even.

Hi, Russ. I currently have the EcoFlow Delta Max 1600 Watts. I have no issues with my plug ports being on the back and you can plug in more than 2 devices at a time. I can Charge by AC at 1,600 watts and do solar up to 800 watts. Like you said, if you don't have enough solar panels to do 800 Watts it isn't going to matter. The only ports I need to plug or unplug on a regular bases is the USB and USB-C ports. I even get more ports here than you get on the DJI Power Station. Knowing I can plug several different batteries at once with the EcoFlow makes it a huge win!
Like you mentioned toward the end of your video having the control from anywhere using the EcoFlow App is great! You might know there is a storm nearby and want to fully charge your power station remotely. I am glad not everything including the ports to run solar or charge AC are all up front. This creates a bit of a clutter where with the DJI you seem to have no choice but charge everything up front. Plus, the solar charging ports are standard to all my solar panels.
I enjoy the competition, but it's not like DJI is the only competition to EcoFlow by any means. DJI is new to the game, and probably I think when DJI offers an app as well and looks at ideas to even improve these current power stations it is only going to get better.
I am a huge DJI fan, but in the power station world even having a BluEtti PowerStation the EcoFlow just blows it out of the water!
Thank you for the video and comparison! I always enjoy seeing new products and new innovations that can make all our lives even better! Sorry, for the long reply!
