I use $ from my savings &/or cash values from whole life policy for bank checking/savings account sign up bonuses. The sign up bonuses effectively gives the double digit interest on high yield savings accounts. 😃

What if I need money for an emergency immediately? Should I borrow money to do that as well is that your advice as well? You should have investments but you should also have immediate money 6 to 12 months of expenses. Talking about the high class not middle class. If your in poverty or middle class your not thinking of whole life policy yet. This is where people get misguided. Have a term life insurance for most people.

Smart Piggy, a Sallie Mae Bank is a great place to start your emergency fund. It pays 7% up to $10,000. Then 4% for amounts $10,001 and up.

@@Yahkana323 You're righ.. Thanks for pointing out my misinformation. Looks liked the $10,001 and above rate has changed since I joined. However, for an emergency fund, I'd put the 10k here. Then, the remaining in like American Express National Bank where I believe I'm earning 4%. These approaches are far better that usual banks that pay .00006% or the like.
