First Track Day In My Abarth 595 Project Car! [

- I finally get on track in my Abarth 595 Competizione project car, code named 'Project Bipsoto'.
The legends at Alexanders Prestige organised an amazing track day for their customers at Blyton Park and very kindly said I could join. It was the perfect opportunity to test the upgrades I've done to my 595 because Blyton Park is where I did my first track day in the my old Abarth 695 Biposto!

Thanks for coming along Sam, it was a great day and fantastic to see so many varied cars on track all doing impressive laps. The 595 looks brilliant in its new Rosso Fuoco paint and sounded incredible going down the main straight barking on the upshifts. The drone footage looks epic, how nice of that person to send it to you!

exactly, driving a car at 100% will always be more fun that driving a Car at 50-60% even if it is 400/500bhp or 1000hp

What I love most about this channel is that you are so bloody endearing. Good on you lad.
You need those CS wheels on your Ferrari Sam. They look fantastic.
He put them on in a video ages ago, and they didn't look right. They didn't sit very well in the wheel arches. The geometry in the CS is completely different.
This is class Sam, a little pocket rocket to put a smile on your face. Definitely calls for a UK tour of fun little circuits and a chance to see the glorious paint in the two days of summer we'll have!

With the new exhaust, intake and intercooler, you should get the car remapped ! It would be pushing 220-230's !

Hey Sam! Great to see the Abarth finally hit the track!
Regarding the brake fade, I've been in the same position as you with my Mini Cooper S and I've made some extensive research on how to improve the stopping power as well as decreasing brake fade as much as possible.
The first step in order to improve your stock brakes is to get a good set of stainless steel braided brake lines that are a direct fit on the car, as well as good brake fluid. (Dot 5.1)
The next step to improve the stopping power is to upgrade pads and rotors if necessary.
If you are still not happy with the stopping power you can throw a big brake kit on the car. I used a kit from a company called V-Maxx and I can say that the car has changed dramatically. It's given me so much confidence and the kit is probably one of the cheapest available ones but I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed!

some nice Harnesses would work well for the track, alongside the standard seatbelts for road use. Looking great so far!
use left foot braking (just tap the brake at corner entry) in front drive as you enter a corner at speed to shift weight and create an oversteer or rear weight swing to help move through a corner or mitigate understeer. I'm sure you know this already but you never mentioned. i drive a front wheel drive and it helps a lot. watched a few old videos from race/rally drivers on making the most of the fwd. love the 595.

If you wanna have any good grip you have to install rear anti roll bar. It's that what I did in my car.
I regularly drive my 2001 Fiesta on track. Only 106hp on 940kg so not really quick as well, but the fun level is of the scale 😎😁
Great video. If you are planning on doing more track events in it,you should maybe look at getting a helmet hammock so your helmet doesn't get damaged.

LSD and a brake upgrade, even a decent pad and fluid upgrade may make a good difference if you didn't want to go down the full AP route, thing you have to think of is the more you upgrade one area the more it will show up others. Big brakes means better tyres better tyres may mean bigger wheels, bigger wheels means possible suspension changes.... will always snowball
Same as an Mx5! Cheap, light and lots of driving it fast! Ir doesn’t matter the Generation.

Sam, u should get the tributo Ferrari wheels on your Abarth. They look just like 360 CS wheels
Try running Michelin PS4's, install a biger intercooler, Bonalume Dump valve & biposto solenoid turbo + remap and you'll see a BIG difference
Air condition use some ekstra horse power! Looks fun!
They are the same Brembo calipers as the Renaultsport R26 so try the Ferodo DS1.11 pads as a upgrade with Castrol SRF brake fluid

Hmm, I didn’t like the way the Lambo wouldn’t give him the gears he wanted!! Probably saved the engine but gives you the sense that you aren’t driving / as in control as you should be. Agree; I reckon the Abarth would be more fun!!
