Mi Amor represents one of the most popular Arthur DeFever designs ever developed, the DeFever 49 RPH (raised pilothouse). With her full displacement hull, fuel capacity and twin engines propulsion, Mi Amor provides safety and comfort with redundancy for smooth long-range cruising.
Once you get aboard Mi Amor, you will quickly realize why many owners believe this is an ideal couple’s cruiser and a large enough vessel for a small family. With her large full beam and extended upper deck roof, the aft deck provides ample room for relaxing, fishing or even dinner al fresco while at anchor. From the aft deck you enter the main saloon with seating on both sides and large windows allowing for natural light and great views to sustain a feeling of openness.

Great work as always Jeff.I agree with the other comments. The Engine room is very clean. Doesnt look like a 20 year old boat.

A clean engine room usually means a well maintained boat. That engine room is clean!

I owned a 2005 49RPH Defever for a couple years. Loved that boat. Cruised it from San Francisco to Vancouver in some dicey seas around North California. Was amazed at how it handled the seas. Hope to get another trawler of some sort one day.

OMG - Show more of the boat and less full screen shots of your boof head. It’s a RUclips video, eye contact whilst speaking is not required. Get that camera in front of you and keep it pointed forward.
I really like your reviews, you know your stuff, but unless you are selling yourself with the boat, it’s a bit scary to see a 55” head on the screen every 10 seconds. 😉

This would be perfect for us. I am wanting the indoor raised pilothouse now, and preferably with a nice captains chair. If they come with a little berth, or become a little berth that's even better. The master has to be midship or possibly aft, but I like how this one uses the forward berth for two levels of bunks instead of the standard v berth. The midship berth is perfect and even though I think the only shower is in the master, that isn't tragic if you seldom have overnight guests. I like the twin engines but I'm not sure what the cruising speed/fuel consumption is like. The Flybridge is perfect and we actually have a canoe and want to get a couple of kayaks and we would probably load them on the deck with dingy. It checks all the major boxes for us anyway.
Tammy: This DeFever is a great design and there are quite a few out cruising. Good to find a brand and model that works so you can focus on finding one. Keep looking and you'll be successful.
In my dream, I have $550K USD to buy and upgrade a trawler as a live aboard. This one checks all the boxes, and at $375K, I'd have enough to do her right.

Love trawlers but tired of looking up this guys nose. Get some video camera training and turn the camera around and show us the boat. Don’t want to see your face constantly taking up 25-50% of the viewing. So basic, hard to imagine I have to even say this - don’t you ever watch your own videos???
PD: Wow, thanks for such a flattering comment. Of course I watch my videos, there is editing and titles and dimensions to input and proof. Normally I have a camera person, this time I filmed myself with a new camera and was figuring it out. One-takes and on to the next to get it done in time to catch my flight. Understand your point, I don't know why you have to post here when you can email me directly with some constructive advice? This isn't about me, it's about the boat. Almost every other comment is positive and most are not focused on me. After nearly 100 videos I think I'm going to do it my way.
Sweet boat for a retired couple. Just the right amount of boat to handle. The arch looks like it hinges to fold aft for a great Looper.
Mrchairman08: Yes an ideal size. The arch does have a hinge to lower.
Videos would be much better with you BEHIND the camera so we see the vessel’s features and NOT you!

Thank you Jeff. That is a great old boat. A little updating and she looks ready to go. I am one wanting modern electronics but otherwise a full service on things like the life raft and extinguishers and lets go. Cool.
Ron: She will survey well and you can always improve every boat, but I'd take Mi Amor as is for the first few months and I'd probably have a very short list

My friend as a similar boat. Jeff, never noticed the following so will have to re-watch it again, how many hours on the engines? Does it have thrusters? Where is it located at the moment?
IRC: Engine hours approximately 3,260 each, no thrusters, located in Isleton, CA (near Stockton) California Delta.
My grandparents had a 44 and did a lot of cursing. Sc to Trinidad and the great loop. Awesome well built boats. After seeing this video , I like the layout of 44 better. Many reasons but a few big ones- more space aft deck for a outside table for dinner/drinks close to the galley and master cabin and guest cabin more separation with forward aft layout, 44 you have a sound proof door to engine room don’t have to enter from galley . 49 is still a great boat. Thanks for the walk around

Billy: No, Mi Amor does not have bow or stern thrusters. Her twin engines make her nimble. They could be added, but so far none of the owners have felt the need.

Hey Jeff, I was unable to find this boat on your website. It does check a lot of boxes for me. It’s unlikely I can afford anything over 50 feet and newer than this. Hours on generator and motors would be nice to know as well as the last time the a/c was gone through. I’m thinking it must have a heating system.
