Philip Glass - Etudes for Piano, Book I. (Etudes 1-10). Augustina Vasiliauskaite

Philip Glass in Etudes explores a variety of tempi, textures, and piano techniques.
For me, these Etudes are related to Mandalas (a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe). Both Etudes and Mandalas consist of repetitive charts or patterns. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.

Hola hermosa Augustina, interpreta más obras de Glasss, por favor, eres magnifica pianista, tan emotiva y humana, elevas nuestro espíritu, me haces sentir verdaderamente humano.
So happy to see this on youtube. !
Sveikinu...puikiai atlikote!
Just saying hello again, Augustina! This is my favorite musical video to watch and listen to on repeated occasions. I never get tired of your wonderful artistry here! A standing forever ovation for you, dear Augustina!
thank you! I am happy you like it :)
Some neat touches. Never thought of doing No. 2 quasi-staccato. (Lots of good eyebrow action too). Progressive fade out on No. 7 nicely observed. And you kept No. 10 from getting boring. The dress-piano colour coordination is also appreciated.
More than quasi-staccato, no.2 is played with the correct slurs: 2-2-3
So beautiful on so many levels! Love your facial expressions as well! Etude #6 is especially grand! Epic!
Thank you!
In my opinion the best interpretation on RUclips. I like the visual expressions that come with the music. Thank you for uploading and greetings from New Zealand.
This is nice. But Maki Namekawa is the true master of Philip Glass on piano, check her out. Also great: Lavinia Meijer playing Philip Glass on Harp.
This is truly a stunning performance of such beautiful music. Many thanks for uploading this.
I hope to hear you perform this live someday, Augustina! You use all your tools - your intelligence, your spirituality, your technical brilliance, the sincerity of your emotions - to produce some truly great art. You are now one of my favorite musical artists. Thanks for sharing your performance! Warm regards, Erwin Schonfeld
Erwin Schonfeld thank you so much! I am very happy to hear that!
Thank you very much, very nice written
wahooo ¡que pianista!, ¡que interpretación!, aplausos !bravo, bravísimo¡
Thank for this great interpretation. Really clean the touch for a great variety and intensity of colours. There is something romantic spirit.

Merci beaucoup!

I hear an echo of Faure's Pavane in this piece.
well done, Augustina!
where did you find the scores? I although wanted to learn that beautiful music.
Hello, Thank you! I bought the book with scores. It is called: The Complete Piano Etudes (20 of them) from Philip Glass.
@@augustinakoch9951 Thank you!

Brilliant! ....more Glass please. Thanks
Watched, I meant!
Beautiful. Dare I say -- sensitive ?
• This woman becomes the piano 🎶
_{ I believe it is Ms Koch is playing ? }_
Thank you very much! yes 😊🤗
Wich level is this nice "Etude" ?
Hello, I cannot really answer which level it is because I don´t know exactly what belongs to which level ( if you mean the levels in numbers). I would say it is "Advanced".
étude, would be (one is Etude and in this video you can hear 10 of them :) ) : (French: “study”) in music, originally a study or technical exercise, later a complete and musically intelligible composition exploring a particular technical problem in an esthetically satisfying manner.
@@augustinakoch9951 you play very well i love those etudies , the nr 8 is my favourite one ....i hope that doing those etudies i can improve my technique
You must be fun to have a serious discussion with, just to showcase the range of eyebrow movements
