If I was rich I'd get one too tbh. Although more realistically it should be equally as protected from natural disasters such as affects of the climate crisis, not just break-ins. I used to think doomsday preppers were extra (and some of them reeeally take it to a severe paranoid type level) but considering one of my parents grew up in a war and only survived it because their dad had saw it coming beforehand (they were right in the middle of a shoutout against a government official of their country) he stockpiled one year's worth of food in a hidden room. They also happened to have a cave under their house so they could help other citizens affected by the war hide out in there at night. And now fast forward 50 yrs later to the American political climate on top of the covid crisis, the climate crisis, other nations relations and struggles that could or will affect us in the future. My parent said the curfew reminded them of being back in their birth country. I don't blame doomsday preppers anymore for being at least somewhat prepared for some of these disaster possibilities. The climate one being inevitable and a real threat at this point. I would go for a panic/safe room rather than the "just have a bunch of guns" mindset that some of them do though. That shit's creepy and dangerous imo.

+bighands69. generators require fuel. i doubt they have more than a few months stored. once that's gone they'll have no ventilation to replace the air in their bunkers. at that point it's either go up to the surface, or suffocate and die.
That is what should be in every home. :) Though few can afford. I mean had JCOVID been for real..any real quarentining would need to be in such a unit. This one they said has enough power for 3 generations? They didn't talk about fail-safe measures. Or a quick escape if needed or was the stairs it? That would need to be hidden no? That part was a little vague and confusing. What this looks like is a short-term "Panic Room". Not a "dooms Day Bunker". I could be wrong but I don't think these companies have completely thought it through to the point of WHAT IF ANY ESSENTIAL SYSTEM FAILS..WHAT THEN? What if the plumbing fails. Air supply fails? Forget a panic room, you have to be able to get to it in time and that may not be possible, an entire panic house is better.
