I'm so thankful to you for your detailed draping video teachings. I've learnt designing through online courses, but the draping was very difficult for me, i can't express in words how happy i was when i came through your videos a week ago, i explored your channel and watched almost all of the videos and I literally cried as i had lost all my hopes of learning due to no availability of the coaching centres who teaches designing and draping in my city. Your videos brought those lost hopes back. Thankyou so much 🙌 I'm starting from your oldest videos now and start working on it. Thanks! Lots of respect, Sir! 🙌
@@kondosdrapinglibrary9070 I'm practicing them, i have a doubt hope you will reply me back For the basic bodice, or any outfit we drape, don't we need openings like buttons or zippers? I mean to ask if i am stitching the draped bodice will i or the dress form be able to wear it as it is just from the neck opening? It will get stuck into my shoulders i guess. Hope my doubt is clear n I'm explaining it well. And if we have to add zipper or buttons then don't we need extra inches of fabric for the zip or buttons seams ? I'm just confused here 😶 i have made one such basic bodice earlier it didn't fit either of us, the dress form and me 😶
Both tops and skirts must, of course, have button or zip openings. For buttons, the overlap of the fabric on both sides must be taken into account. The extra seam allowance for the zipper depends on the type of zipper.@@deepikaoza28
Thanks again for watching my videos. It's been a while since my last video as I've been busy with other work. But I will keep uploading them, so please look forward to them.
Hello. I love watching you drape. I took draping when I attended F.I.T. but dropped it. I am so disappointed in myself. I was wondering if we could make requests; was wondering if yoiu could show us how to drape Alexander McQueen's Shawl Collar dungaree jacket? I keep looking but it looks so difficult, but I have a feeling it is not. Could you please let me know. Thank you so much in advance.
When I was a student, it was my dream to study at FIT. But as a poor Japanese student, it was very impossible for me. Nowadays, you can learn various technologies and theories through the internet. I hope you will give it a try.
I am always looking forward to your videos. But I still need to master draping. Also your freehand drawing skills are uncharted, I couldn’t even draw a straight line if my life depended on it 😂
Thanks again for watching my videos. As fashion becomes increasingly digital, draping conversely becomes a valuable skill. I encourage you to try it too. It's rather easy to draw straight lines freehand on fabric.
This time, I deliberately made the collar larger. The jacket is double-breasted, so I designed it so that the collar is visible even when the left and right collars cross.
Hey! Love your channel and work! What kind of material do you use in your drapes? Is it a specific type of muslin? Do you have a link to where it could be purchased? It behaves very well and is perfectly sheer enough to be able to see everything under it.
It is not a special type of fabric. It is a simple, raw cotton. The warp and weft threads are the same so that a precise pattern is created after draping.
