I just got my CH341A in the mail today. I was curious, how can I be certain whether to use the series 24 or series 25 pinout? My tool has both. Also, does the card need to be powered on while flashing? Or can the data be transferred while the card is off of the motherboard?
If you bought the pack with all adapters you use the 8 pin to 8 pin adapter. I can write a full guide how mine is setup as soon as I get home from work For flashing graphics cards, take it out from the PC and remove cooler, no power is needed for flashing it
RTX 30-series has encryption that's not bypassed at the moment. I have not seen a deep dive into the new RX 6000 series from AMD yet and have not had a chance to have a closer look myself at them. But I would not recommend doing this if the product is under warranty

Hello , so i've located the bios chip its puya , P25Q21H , i'm pretty sure i've connected the clipper firmly i've also done so on the usb side but in the software its never detecting my chip , and sometimes when connected to the bios the device disconnects from the software and shows me as not connected and the red light goes away , any help ?
Update : i finally managed to make it work , turned out i placed the pins on the usb side incorrectly , the problem now is i cannot find a proper bios file to make it work , i tried multiple files but i wasnt sure of any of them , gpu chip is 215-0876406 which is basically rx470 for mining ( lol ) , any idea ?
You can try to look in BIOS, I know MSI have an overview of populated slots but if you don’t have it I would look at the connectors on the card, if everything looks good, try to change slot and if that does not work, your best friend would be a multimeter checking for shorts

The one that I use and it’s also linked in the description is all you need apart from the software which is also linked in the description. The answer to your last question is to take apart the gpu and locate the Bios chip, google everything that is written on it and it should lead you to the manufacturers website which most likely have all the answers for you
@@CaiusTech Find out and the chip of the gtx 1070 is the "Winbond 25Q40EWNIG 1644" works with 1.8volt. I had to buy an adapter and connect to the CH341A to be able to work with that voltage. Thanks

hey, i have a ch341a programer, doing all correctly when i connect the gripper to the bios chip the programmer disconnect, the red led on the plate seems like shine less, so searching thats for a cut, so i tested the chip and 2 pins are in 0, but i think thats pins are negative, the chip is the pm25lv512, any recomendation helps me thankss

The software that I have linked don’t have that chip but if you download NeoProgrammer you can flash your vBIOS with the CH341A To find the chip in NeoProgrammer go to IC -> SPI_NOR -> MACRONIX and scroll down and select your chip

I have only tested this on one laptop but the steps in software are the same. The MXM module has a bios chip and make sure to either remove the battery or let the battery die completely. What is your laptop model?
Hey bro, i have an rtx 2080ti and the voltage is stuck at .712V with a max of 1350mhz. I have tried flashing multiple bioses with different power limits but it didnt help. There s 2000W rtx 2080ti bios , its the Galax RTX 2080 Ti HOF vbios, which has unlimited power, overvoltage, voltage/frequency control. the reason i cant flash it with nvflash is because of a different EEPROM (WBond instead of ISSI). Anyways do you think this is doable in the first place and if it is, would it be a good idea to unlock the voltage control or maybe the voltage control chip of the gpu is just dead and there s nothing we can do ?
Hi man, I would not recommend that, if you can find a modded vBios for your card I would try that. But it sounds like there is an hardware issue, best is to take the card apart and inspect the components for any discoloration and use a multimeter to check if the mosfets and voltage control chip is working normally
I followed link to download software and drivers and getting message. Sorry, this file is infected with a virus. Only the owner is allowed to download infected files. What am I doing wrong? lol I am able to download similar software and driver but getting the clip to stay on is a nightmare. I am so done with this experiment.
i'm so confuse.. i download it, it said ch341 and then sofeware.. and then i click open and nothing happens, keep asking me what program i want to open it with. so i went and download unzip thinking its in a zip file but then it won't even show me that as an option..
Purchased a CH341A because I bricked my GPU card, purchased one from Amazon so I can re-flash the BIOS. Installed the latest CH341A programmer (Version 1.4) and Drivers in my laptop and launched the program. With the program launched, on the bottom right hand corner it says "Device State: Not Connected" which is correct because at the time I didn't have it plugged into my USB. I plug the device into my USB and I expect it to connect and say "Device State: Connected" which it doesn't, it continues to say "Device State: Not Connected". When in doubt go over to the University of RUclips to get educated, found a couple of videos here however most don't show how to trouble shoot my issue. Only one I found was regarding a jumper that needs to be installed however mine came with it in the default location from the factory. Is there something I'm missing or didn't do or is this CH341A that I purchased faulty? Any recommendations?
@@CaiusTech I got it to read (had to install an older driver), but now when i erase and install my rom file and do a verify once everything is done I get a "chip %s with the contents are in disagreement"?
@@CaiusTech I figured out the problem, I'm glad I didn't give up. It's a pain to get the little clamp seated on the bios chip, I must of tried 50+ times.

If you have a iGPU on your CPU you can try boot with that and see if Device Manager picks up the GPU at all, it could be a bad chip or faulty VRAM Best way is to take a multimeter look for anything that has been shorted

@krystalvortex yes, i found out that the bios chip was corrupted, i bougt a yaxun, and some other stuff, learned how to solder a bit, and made the fix myself. it has been working fine since then, i have the file for my model, if you get to know your own and need some help, i can try to search for it, (but you need to identify wich mode your one is)

@@krystalvortex you need the EXACT bios btw, i would look for the bios serial. the reason my bios chip got corrupted, was cuz i used the ch341 wrong and installed the wrong bios with the wrong voltage. there are two options of voltage on it, and many bios for the same gpu
You should be good to go with PM25LV020 in the software, just do a couple of test reads and verify. If it goes smooth without warnings you can proceed You can also try and use the detect button
@@CaiusTech yes it detects the chip and reads it but will not write to it, I downloaded neoproggrammer and that detects it but when you try to write it says check values as could be write protected. I have two of these fake cards and it does the same on both it will not flash them
Hi great video, i have a rx6600xt red devil and the rgb leds didnt work so i see that if i changed the vga bios i would work and know i can change the color but i had some shutdowns and i lost performance like 60 to 80 percente in games but my graphic cards still work so its not another way to reverse the bios without a spi flash programmer? can i do on amdvbflash? its where i done the atualization and my bios have two pre setted bios silente and oc i have done one by one and even that i have problems; thanks for your time hope you can help me
Thanks man, sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the card. You should be able to do it with AMDVBFLASH but if it don't work I would advice you to get a BIOS programmer to fix it

My GPU has 4 things with 8 legs and a dot in the corner. Two on the die side, 2 on the back side. How can I tell which is the BIOS?
Look for a text on the top, might say Winbond

It’s a 7z file so you need to have WinRar or 7zip to unpack it, after its unpacked, install the driver that comes with the compressed folder
Google drive says folder has a virus and cant download zip.
You should be able to download it even when it warns of a virus, that's a false warning

If you have a iGPU on your CPU you can try boot with that and see if Device Manager picks up the GPU at all, it could be a bad chip or faulty VRAM
Best way is to take a multimeter look for anything that has been shorted

I finally managed to connect to my vega turned out i just had to break the plastic tip on the programer connector

My bios chip doesn't appear in the software. Any solution to this?
Which BIOS chip do you have?
@@CaiusTech thanks for the reply. I tried my best to zoom in and have a look at the chip. It is Pm25L0020. Or Pm25LQ020.
You should be good to go with PM25LV020 in the software, just do a couple of test reads and verify. If it goes smooth without warnings you can proceed
You can also try and use the detect button

@@CaiusTech yes it detects the chip and reads it but will not write to it, I downloaded neoproggrammer and that detects it but when you try to write it says check values as could be write protected. I have two of these fake cards and it does the same on both it will not flash them
Are you manually selecting your Bios chip in the software? Have you erased the Bios before attempting to flash the new one?
@@CaiusTech it won't erase it, it says it has but when you read the chip it is all still on there
That is very strange, I have flashed multiple fakes and real ones without a single issue. Are you using the CH341a?
Hi great video, i have a rx6600xt red devil and the rgb leds didnt work so i see that if i changed the vga bios i would work and know i can change the color but i had some shutdowns and i lost performance like 60 to 80 percente in games but my graphic cards still work so its not another way to reverse the bios without a spi flash programmer? can i do on amdvbflash? its where i done the atualization and my bios have two pre setted bios silente and oc i have done one by one and even that i have problems; thanks for your time hope you can help me
Thanks man, sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the card. You should be able to do it with AMDVBFLASH but if it don't work I would advice you to get a BIOS programmer to fix it

The programmer can work without spi?
I would go with the one I’m using if you have an iGPU or a second computer

@@CaiusTech and do you control voltage on the spi controller cause I saw other guys saying that some times it comes with way to much voltage so risk of burning component, do you had this problem.?
