I can't help but remember what that area looked like when the snow melted last year. That building you just built may become like Noah's ark. Maybe think about getting it a little higher. So it won't float away. I love the design and build. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents. God bless.
You can use plywood for walls and ceiling as long as you torch the plywood to seal the grains that would otherwise soak up the steam and also make them resistant to heat; as my father (a Finn who fought in the Finnish Winter War against Russia) did in our last home--it was just as good as any sauna with cedar. You can also use 2/4s for the benches and torch the grains also.

As plywood is glued-together wood pieces and is not that healthy to begin with, I wouldn't use that in a construction where I breathe in the steam. You're basically breathing in formaldehyde.

@@losapriscos7258 I think I'd like to see it a little bigger myself, but looking at the plywood floor and being one of Red Poppy Ranch's biggest fans, I'd lay odds that a better floor gets laid down on a rainy day once a few other projects get done. On the means of fire safety, I think I might have moved it about 10 feet closer to the hillside, too. If the wind is right and the woodpile is stocked like I'd bet Heath is gonna stock it next fall, that pallet shack has the potential to be kindling for a whole lot of heartache.

That’s awesome! You got a pretty good sense of style! I’m Russian and grew up doing banya so I always appreciate a proper steam session. Too bad here in US it’s so hard to find rentals with sauna, you’d think if you go to a cold place in the woods or mountains , a cabin… it’s gotta have a little sauna, but no. At least I think it’s catching on these days!

Very cool! I dated a girl once from northern MN whose family was 100% Finnish. Everyone had outdoor saunas up there it was great. I really like how you did this one nice job.
Use smaller rocks. You can add lots of it. It will give better steam and smaller rocks will warm up quicker. The rock size should be 10-15 cm diameter. You just need to warm the rocks not the space. Room tempature will rise when you pour water.
Amazing sauna! I absolutely love upcycling anyting. Sometimes it is not cost effective, considering the time I take breaking down pallets and picking out the correct pieces to fit into my design. It's just my inherent need to not throw anything away. Good job, I enjoyed watching you build it. I would probably build one myself, but I live in Mobile Alabama and we are a sauna. I Love this idea. I just took ownership of my first acreage on monday. I am definately building one of these! But I think I am going to weld an air inlet to the propane tank so it doesn't lower the oxygen level in a relatively sealed box. lol
Not to bad. I'm sure having a little relaxing hot and cold will be nice. She's a looker but I'm not so hopeful it will last very many winters. Enjoy it as much as I enjoy your videos!
My wife and I live in southern Idaho and our land has no trees, water but it has a beautiful view of mountains 2 miles from our cabin. We've been thinking about selling and moving to south eastern Idaho where we can start on projects such as this. Ive been watching this channel from the beginning and the more I do the more I know it's time to sell and start looking. Good job my friend.
You should try a leaf blower it would be great for light snow. I use one on our porch and walks! Love the sauna shape, not use I like one, only ever tried it once or twice, I love a hot tub. Cedar would sure use a potting shed, that would be great! Lol
PLEASE READ: If you use a table saw always keep the blade no more than 1/4" taller than the materials you are cutting. This is the best way to protect your body in the event of a slip. It can be the difference between a nasty wound and a missing hand. It also reduces the chance of binding which causes kickback. When you're doing things freehand or even with a fence. Good work on the sauna.

I would have built it elevated off the ground on Railroad ties. He can still add them before the bottom wood starts to rot. They can also act like "skids" to drag it to other locations as needed.

Love this type of building as it allows total creativity thinking and is this relaxing and fun. Often I've built many projects in part while sleeping my thoughts running wild. Another great video showing us all what can be done for very little money using basic skills that you have picked up, it is nearly as cold here in the UK as it is where you are and to come home fromworking outside jump into a sauna then shower sounds like a fantastic option. As a 6'3" tall guy.......I both sympathise....and find it HILARIOUS watching someone else hit their head on something......I find it even more funny that YOU are the one that put that darn thing in your own headspace. lol I'm glad you are able to laugh at yourself enough to let us laugh as well.
LOVE IT !! Great job 👍 A couple thoughts are to put the sauna and the small cabin on skids and you would be able to move them around the property !! Kinda like the wheeled sheep herder wagons. Also the cabin I stayed in last winter had a sauna and the stove had a built in tray . (A plow disc) with the stove pipe through the center. The rocks were placed around the pipe on the disc and allowed the water to pool. It worked VERY well. You may just add a catch basin to yours. That way you do not have to change anything . Another one is do not forget to add some "Essential oils " to the stem box. Really helps you relax. I am a real sucker for Eucalyptus 😍
Very nice and resourceful. Great job. Love many of the supportive comments. I made a sauna of mostly reclaimed wood and it turned out great also, just not a wood burner. Wood burning not allowed in many suburbs. So I did have to buy an electric unit. Only caution is to provide some ventilation so fire does not consume all your oxygen. I guess your could also just open the door or you probably used an air intake for your wood burner, just did not see it. Anyhow, safety first. Great job. Love video.
Nice! Add some air vent to sauna. So you can get fresh air, it also helps to keep temperatures not too high. Air vent on on high on wall that hottest air can leave and you get cooler air back.
@@bernhardmichaelfux308/videos Yeah they did, they even officially have to have air vents in a lot of places, as well as proper water runoff in the floor. Keeping fresh air circulating is part of what makes a sauna work, you don't want it just continuously heating up stale air
@@bennyboy97100 Why? It`s simple: You heat it up, then you go in, open the vodka bottle, light the cigar, lean back and relax! When the Bottle is empty, you go to the cold Water Pool. Then, relax outside for a short time, and then you go in for the second Bott - uhm - run... That`s it!
@@daylen577 Hmmm Ok, first, i must admit, that the old Vikings didn`t have ventilators lol...but to be serious, what`s really important, is that the Saunastove gets it`s fresh air from a channel from the outside! In a Sauna of this size (RPR-Sauna) that`s one side of the ventilation...and for the Air-Circulation for the humans that sit and sweat inside that sauna, a proper Hole on the side of the wall is good enough for this purpose!
A friend of mine built a sauna kinda like this one. For the heat he used a propane tank with a long hose with a “flamethrower” that heated a metal box inside the sauna. On top of the metal box he welded angle iron around the top and filled the exterior top with lava rock. When the metal box and lava rock was hot enough he’d add water with eucalyptus oil over the lava rock. He built benches with cedar slats. It was a great sauna and he and his wife shared many evenings enjoying it for many years. I’ve talked to my wife about building one from old pallets, like my friend did on top of our covered deck that looks down our mountain side and into the canyon floor below. Next year we’re also building a natural looking waterfall on the north side of our house. It will naturally fall from the outside of our bedroom down to the front side of our house into a natural looking “pool” with built in seating for 4 only for the water to be pumped up to where it begins. We built our house into the side of our mountain. The front of our house on the ground floor is our oversized 2 car garage on one side and a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment on the other side for our aging parents to live in. Our back door (on the second story) also is on the ground. This is why the waterfall will naturally flow down.
It's a lovely building. I would however kindly advice you to consider removing the pressure treated wood and plastic. I live in Sweden, and the sauna originates from the nordics. You seem to have a similar climate, and therefore I believe most of the building principles should be appropriate. We do not use cedar, actually scrap wood is great. But not the treated kind, mostly because it will start smelling really bad after some time. We do also not use plastic or any sealing. We leave space between the planks, in all the walls and floor, to allow it to move and breathe. I can promise it will get very hot even with the space between. But most of the space dissapears when the heat and moisture quickly expands it. I believe your current structure will be very prone to both bad smell, rotting and planks twisting and splitting, due to all these factors. If you are interested, I can find some good first hand information on the building principles we have used for centuries or more. Lovely building though, and good luck with all your projects!
Hahah "I live in sweden" man if you live in sweden don't talk about saunas. A swedish sauna isn't a sauna. If your sauna can only fit 2 people and goes up to 40C° don't call it a sauna. Best regards: a finnish guy
What percent of Finnish saunas are wood versus electric? Is there an electric version you recommend? I live in Florida and for some reason I want to gravitate to electric.

A smile came across my face at 21:04 when I saw the smoke coming out of the chimney. Awesome job! I love how it looks. One thing to keep in mind is that snow on top will have an R value of about 1 per inch, so I think you'll have plenty of insulation on the roof before too long :D
I remember taking saunas as a child at my grandma's house ☺️ the top seats were too hot for me then but I sat in a little tub of water on the floor so I could be in on the fun. My mom and maternal grandparents are ethnically Finnish and saunas have always been a huge part of everyday life. Truly thankful to my grandparents that I could do regular saunas growing up.
Great sauna build Heath! I was worried about the table saw blade being so high up...a shop teacher told us to never have it higher than needed for the cuts we were doing at the time. He had tripped near a table saw once...lost the thumb from his left hand as he reflexively tried to break his fall...then he mentioned that he would have went chest-first into it if he hadn't. The ginger kitty is getting so big :)
Yes that's a stadnard safety thing---saw blade should be raised up the thickness of the material plus half the saw tooth gullet. Also when cutting the shingles at 12:40 use a miter gage in the table slot, don't push the wood from both sides of the blade; it risks binding the material at the back of the blade and will thowit, and your hands, back uncontrollably. Stay safe brother. And it's not weak to have a few pairs of safety glasses laying around so they're easy to use.

Mike, actually they're not usually chemically treated at all, but to be 100% sure you just have to read the stamp on it. All pallets have a stamp indicating how they were manufactured. There are websites that explain how to read and decode those stamps. Most often they're HT, heated treated, not chemically treated. And they're usually made of hardwoods. I'm surprised he said there was some pine in his batch.
@Richard Thomas, actually the reason all houses are made with inward swinging front doors is so you CANT be trapped in a burning house. highly unlikely to get stuck swinging in, all kinds of things can block a door that swings out.

Awesome ideas! I never would have thought to use pallet wood as roofing shakes but of course now it seems very obvious. I also never would have guessed that flushing a propane tank would make flammable water but that also makes sense since I'm sure there are heavy oils and other materials inside a propane tank that get built up over the years.
Isn't plastic very toxic? I really hope that you got the rocks from a sauna place. Many river rocks explode!❤ Just put some hardware cloth over the rocks....small sized holes! : )
He likes to do things 2-3 times, so there is room for improvement. ;) Pallet wood can hold a lot of chemicals, plus the plastic is doing no good and you are right about the stones.
Living the Dream in Canada it appears he pinches pennies and it cost him dollars. IE his battery situation. My grandfather always said you get what you pay for. He will be repairing or replacing the sauna in a few years.

When we bought our property in the Appalachian mountains I and the grandkids built a large fire pit out of the rocks from the stream running through the property. It was sometime before they started exploding, after talking to the locals just about any of the rocks around here in the right conditions can explode. I'd definitely have a separate air supply for the stove this is not something that I'd get in having Gulf War Syndrome/Disease I understand how little things affect your body if I'm around perfume or scented candles it can put me down almost instantly and last a week or more so a healthy person may not show the signs but your body can only cleanse/filter so much and somethings not at all. I researched these and decided against the professionally built ones due to possible health issues if not operated/maintained properly. Please be safe with your family

After all of your hard work, hardship, uncertainty, and self reliance, they plugged in an American Standard commercial for a "hands free" bidet. Yes. Hands free. Because this is the one thing that no doubt you, and by extension, all of us who follow you, are missing and working for in life. Can you believe it? HANDS FREE! A bidet. It dries you too! Experts? Hmm... I built a few Saunas back in the day when I was younger... we had them in the Gyms where I was working as a personal trainer. But being an educated carpenter before I learned the fitness stuff, I was doing the work with the Interieur also... mostly...
Just make sure wood from pallets isn't worked with some fungicides or something like that. As for rocks,river rocks are often used,they don't tend to break. Happy warming!
Nice build. Congratulations I’m sure you will enjoy your sauna for a long time. I built my sauna using a lot of scraps which I salvaged from building construction sites. (with permission of course) the sauna room is 7’x7’ includes a used wood stove,tile floors and heat shield cedar and Douglas fir ceilings and walls.I spent about $400 total. Steel roof, vinyl siding, and insulation. Takes one half hour to heat up in winter. Use it almost every day usually between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius. Overall size is 8’x12’ which includes a 4x8 changing room. Great size because I can lay on the benches. I applaud your using mostly pallet wood and bulilding your own stove. Lots of free wood is available. I use some small pans with rocks to get some moisture. To have a better sauna experience try a few drops of essential oil’s or some menthol crystals in a little water in a pan over the stove. Enjoy. Greetings from Maine.
Using ttreated lumber which was treated for keeping bugs out, As a sauna sounds dangerous. The chemicals infused in the wood might come out as you heat it up in the sauna. Just hope you looked into this.
@@piratelute8934 most pallets are heat treated. They are stamped with “HT”. Avoid unmarked pallets or ones marked with MB (methyl bromide) as they are chemically treated. You actually want heat treated pallets as they withstand the moisture
I love these videos. The only thing I really have to get used to is the long stops between sentences. Other than that I have huge respect and admiration for what you are doing and how you are doing it. Everyone makes mistakes and that's how you learn.
looks GREAT! Word of advice if you don't mind. I look forward to every video you make, but if you keep cutting wood with that saw blade set so high, you'll be making videos with one hand instead of two.
SO Dangerous! The blade depth should always be set to just over the depth of the board you're cutting! Standing over that table saw you could easily slip or trip on something and fall on the blade. That's how Johnny Cashes brother died.
A "good" Norwegian would go straight from the sauna into the snow or lake or river. I and many of your subs would surely like to see you do that......lol
Excellent job on the Sauna Heath. Only thing I'd do is place a pickaxe on the inside, in case the wood swells too much from the moisture. Even the professionally made ones the door gets stuck.
This is super, super cool, well done! One question about pallet wood: I've seen a lot of people speculate about what kind of chemicals might be used to treat this material (but nothing concrete). Was this a consideration for you, or have you researched it? Thanks!
I use mine in the St Louis area. But it's more like a steam room. I learned that from Sonny Liston, who use to drive around town with the heater on and windows rolled up to lose weight while training.
Ingenius....maybe smaller lava rocks...with a chicken wire net?....wish I had one..so warm in the winter...kick back in a couple adrondack chairs made of pallets.
Utterly charming. So much for the notion living off grid means you have to rough it. By the way....there was no hint about the garden shed. You best put that on your very short list of things to do. With your creativity you could make one end a small greenhouse using old patio doors and gravel for the floor. Give your Mrs. a chance to get a head start on spring planting.

Plywood is usually treated somewhat with chemicals, at least it contains some sort of glue, I would rather not have this steamed out in my sauna.

My wife and I live in southern Idaho and our land has no trees, water but it has a beautiful view of mountains 2 miles from our cabin. We've been thinking about selling and moving to south eastern Idaho where we can start on projects such as this. Ive been watching this channel from the beginning and the more I do the more I know it's time to sell and start looking. Good job my friend.
You should try a leaf blower it would be great for light snow. I use one on our porch and walks!

PLEASE READ: If you use a table saw always keep the blade no more than 1/4" taller than the materials you are cutting. This is the best way to protect your body in the event of a slip. It can be the difference between a nasty wound and a missing hand. It also reduces the chance of binding which causes kickback. When you're doing things freehand or even with a fence. Good work on the sauna.

He can still add them before the bottom wood starts to rot. They can also act like "skids" to drag it to other locations as needed.

@@kristinwerner5519 They are on the exterior and used (quite old) they would have vented and leached much of their toxicity a long time ago. He isn't going to be burning them.

Love this type of building as it allows total creativity thinking and is this relaxing and fun. Often I've built many projects in part while sleeping my thoughts running wild. Another great video showing us all what can be done for very little money using basic skills that you have picked up, it is nearly as cold here in the UK as it is where you are and to come home fromworking outside jump into a sauna then shower sounds like a fantastic option. LOVE IT !! Great job 👍 A couple thoughts are to put the sauna and the small cabin on skids and you would be able to move them around the property !! Kinda like the wheeled sheep herder wagons. Also the cabin I stayed in last winter had a sauna and the stove had a built in tray . (A plow disc) with the stove pipe through the center. The rocks were placed around the pipe on the disc and allowed the water to pool. It worked VERY well. You may just add a catch basin to yours. That way you do not have to change anything . Another one is do not forget to add some "Essential oils " to the stem box. Really helps you relax. I am a real sucker for Eucalyptus 😍
Very nice and resourceful. Great job. Love many of the supportive comments. I made a sauna of mostly reclaimed wood and it turned out great also, just not a wood burner. Wood burning not allowed in many suburbs. So I did have to buy an electric unit. Only caution is to provide some ventilation so fire does not consume all your oxygen. I guess your could also just open the door or you probably used an air intake for your wood burner, just did not see it. Anyhow, safety first. Great job. Love video.
Nice! Add some air vent to sauna. So you can get fresh air, it also helps to keep temperatures not too high. Air vent on on high on wall that hottest air can leave and you get cooler air back.
Sorry! NO Ventilators in a Sauna! The Sauna Technology has a tradition of many centuries, and even the old vikings didn`t use ventilators! ;-) .

When the Bottle is empty, you go to the cold Water Pool. Then, relax outside for a short time, and then you go in for the second Bott - uhm - run... That`s it!
@@daylen577 Hmmm Ok, first, i must admit, that the old Vikings didn`t have ventilators lol...but to be serious, what`s really important, is that the Saunastove gets it`s fresh air from a channel from the outside! In a Sauna of this size (RPR-Sauna) that`s one side of the ventilation...and for the Air-Circulation for the humans that sit and sweat inside that sauna, a proper Hole on the side of the wall is good enough for this purpose!
A friend of mine built a sauna kinda like this one.
For the heat he used a propane tank with a long hose with a “flamethrower” that heated a metal box inside the sauna. On top of the metal box he welded angle iron around the top and filled the exterior top with lava rock.
When the metal box and lava rock was hot enough he’d add water with eucalyptus oil over the lava rock.
He built benches with cedar slats.
It was a great sauna and he and his wife shared many evenings enjoying it for many years.
I’ve talked to my wife about building one from old pallets, like my friend did on top of our covered deck that looks down our mountain side and into the canyon floor below.
Next year we’re also building a natural looking waterfall on the north side of our house. It will naturally fall from the outside of our bedroom down to the front side of our house into a natural looking “pool” with built in seating for 4 only for the water to be pumped up to where it begins.
We built our house into the side of our mountain.
The front of our house on the ground floor is our oversized 2 car garage on one side and a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment on the other side for our aging parents to live in.
Our back door (on the second story) also is on the ground.
This is why the waterfall will naturally flow down.

It's a lovely building. I would however kindly advice you to consider removing the pressure treated wood and plastic. I live in Sweden, and the sauna originates from the nordics. You seem to have a similar climate, and therefore I believe most of the building principles should be appropriate. We do not use cedar, actually scrap wood is great. But not the treated kind, mostly because it will start smelling really bad after some time. We do also not use plastic or any sealing. We leave space between the planks, in all the walls and floor, to allow it to move and breathe. I can promise it will get very hot even with the space between. But most of the space dissapears when the heat and moisture quickly expands it. I believe your current structure will be very prone to both bad smell, rotting and planks twisting and splitting, due to all these factors. If you are interested, I can find some good first hand information on the building principles we have used for centuries or more. Lovely building though, and good luck with all your projects!
Hahah "I live in sweden" man if you live in sweden don't talk about saunas. A swedish sauna isn't a sauna. If your sauna can only fit 2 people and goes up to 40C° don't call it a sauna. Best regards: a finnish guy

A smile came across my face at 21:04 when I saw the smoke coming out of the chimney. Awesome job! I love how it looks. One thing to keep in mind is that snow on top will have an R value of about 1 per inch, so I think you'll have plenty of insulation on the roof before too long :D

I remember taking saunas as a child at my grandma's house ☺️ the top seats were too hot for me then but I sat in a little tub of water on the floor so I could be in on the fun. My mom and maternal grandparents are ethnically Finnish and saunas have always been a huge part of everyday life. Truly thankful to my grandparents that I could do regular saunas growing up.
That was great to watch. My grandmother was from Finland so my grandfather built a sauna for her on their farm.

I was worried about the table saw blade being so high up...a shop teacher told us to never have it higher than needed for the cuts we were doing at the time.
He had tripped near a table saw once...lost the thumb from his left hand as he reflexively tried to break his fall...then he mentioned that he would have went chest-first into it if he hadn't.

Yes that's a stadnard safety thing---saw blade should be raised up the thickness of the material plus half the saw tooth gullet. Also when cutting the shingles at 12:40 use a miter gage in the table slot, don't push the wood from both sides of the blade; it risks binding the material at the back of the blade and will thowit, and your hands, back uncontrollably. Stay safe brother. And it's not weak to have a few pairs of safety glasses laying around so they're easy to use.

Mike, actually they're not usually chemically treated at all, but to be 100% sure you just have to read the stamp on it.
All pallets have a stamp indicating how they were manufactured. There are websites that explain how to read and decode those stamps. Most often they're HT, heated treated, not chemically treated. And they're usually made of hardwoods. I'm surprised he said there was some pine in his batch.

Heath you might want to make that door swing in so that it can't get stuck with you in it.
@Richard Thomas, actually the reason all houses are made with inward swinging front doors is so you CANT be trapped in a burning house. highly unlikely to get stuck swinging in, all kinds of things can block a door that swings out.

Awesome ideas! I never would have thought to use pallet wood as roofing shakes but of course now it seems very obvious.
I also never would have guessed that flushing a propane tank would make flammable water but that also makes sense since I'm sure there are heavy oils and other materials inside a propane tank that get built up over the years.

Pallet wood can hold a lot of chemicals, plus the plastic is doing no good and you are right about the stones.
Living the Dream in Canada it appears he pinches pennies and it cost him dollars. IE his battery situation. My grandfather always said you get what you pay for. He will be repairing or replacing the sauna in a few years.

When we bought our property in the Appalachian mountains I and the grandkids built a large fire pit out of the rocks from the stream running through the property. It was sometime before they started exploding, after talking to the locals just about any of the rocks around here in the right conditions can explode. I'd definitely have a separate air supply for the stove this is not something that I'd get in having Gulf War Syndrome/Disease I understand how little things affect your body if I'm around perfume or scented candles it can put me down almost instantly and last a week or more so a healthy person may not show the signs but your body can only cleanse/filter so much and somethings not at all. I researched these and decided against the professionally built ones due to possible health issues if not operated/maintained properly. Please be safe with your family

Experts? Hmm... I built a few Saunas back in the day when I was younger... we had them in the Gyms where I was working as a personal trainer. But being an educated carpenter before I learned the fitness stuff, I was doing the work with the Interieur also... mostly...
You might have to jack it up in the spring when everything melts but thats a great idea
I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps it can be mounted on some form of ski/skid so that it could be towed around as needed.
@@sonnicman I already covered that elsewhere here, mounted on RR ties with "mitered" ends as skids. This also gets the wood up out of the spring mud.
Just make sure wood from pallets isn't worked with some fungicides or something like that. As for rocks,river rocks are often used,they don't tend to break. Happy warming!

Nice build. Congratulations I’m sure you will enjoy your sauna for a long time. I built my sauna using a lot of scraps which I salvaged from building construction sites. (with permission of course) the sauna room is 7’x7’ includes a used wood stove,tile floors and heat shield cedar and Douglas fir ceilings and walls.I spent about $400 total. Steel roof, vinyl siding, and insulation. Takes one half hour to heat up in winter. Use it almost every day usually between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius. Overall size is 8’x12’ which includes a 4x8 changing room. Great size because I can lay on the benches. I applaud your using mostly pallet wood and bulilding your own stove. Lots of free wood is available. I use some small pans with rocks to get some moisture. To have a better sauna experience try a few drops of essential oil’s or some menthol crystals in a little water in a pan over the stove. Enjoy. Greetings from Maine.
Using ttreated lumber which was treated for keeping bugs out, As a sauna sounds dangerous. The chemicals infused in the wood might come out as you heat it up in the sauna. Just hope you looked into this.

@@piratelute8934 most pallets are heat treated. They are stamped with “HT”. Avoid unmarked pallets or ones marked with MB (methyl bromide) as they are chemically treated. You actually want heat treated pallets as they withstand the moisture
He did say he was using pressure treated lumber for the structure. So long as it isn’t used inside the sauna itself, it shouldn’t be a problem.

SO Dangerous! The blade depth should always be set to just over the depth of the board you're cutting! Standing over that table saw you could easily slip or trip on something and fall on the blade. That's how Johnny Cashes brother died.

Pallets are marked to indicate what sort of treatment they're undergone. Stay away from chemically treated.

I use mine in the St Louis area. But it's more like a steam room. I learned that from Sonny Liston, who use to drive around town with the heater on and windows rolled up to lose weight while training.
Ingenius....maybe smaller lava rocks...with a chicken wire net?....wish I had one..so warm in the winter...kick back in a couple adrondack chairs made of pallets.
