reminder that in episode 1 we ruled out the possibility that nana could be a traitor due to the fact that some wind slash hit her from the back resulting in her almost falling and having to be rescued. its the same with the others: they ruled out the possibility of nana being the killer because they have seen her stabbed in such a gory way protecting michiro.

Something to note is that Kyoto initially doubted her mind reading abilities, but later on she made up limitations throughout the show lol that actually sounded really believable

"Why don't they just always assume the worst?"
I dunno, when your boyfriend/girlfriend misses a call or gets somewhere 5 mins late, do you just assume they're cheating or dead? I mean, damn, you must have a lot of pent up stress problems if that's the case.
No matter what, people will always be judgemental whenever they're looking from a killer's perspective, similar as to how backseating in social deception games happens.
A perfect example of this is actually Kaif's videos. When he's playing games that outright show his own role, his audience is all "You're being sus, bro. They're can tell it's you". But when he's playing a game that hides his role, his audience just doesn't have a clue.
Essentially, it's like having a bunch of edgy teenagers looking at a solved crime mystery story and try and point out what the killer did wrong, believing that they would do better.

mhh, the white haired guy is pretty stupid tho, if not the stupidest in the show.
Its not even from a viewer pov, he's just so stupid, the fact that he should be the "detective" is hilarious.

I think one aspect that isn't covered here and ironically not brought up by detractors of the show either is how Nana acts a bit weird being all bubbly even in situations where normal people would be negatively affected emotionally. Kyouya thinks about it but ultimately chalks it up as her hiding her fear or something. I do find it odd that she does it, though, as she's depicted as more than capable of acting, so she could have acted a bit more scared even if she wasn't. Not a huge issue with the story, though.

isn’t that just the order of events? both of them only ever found out because their personality and how they interacted with their talent, thhe photogrophy talent was good but slightly more difficult to prove and the talent made him learn to not care, the other one couldn’t risk it because she is not stupid and knows ner necromancy would be reavealed, if she wasn’t hiding her talent, nana would know to approach the situation differently

This only works if you ignore the amount of people who found her out, and the one that was so dumb she saw a picture of her killing someone and fell for a dumb lie , also the students already started to suspect each other very early or at least suspecting that an enemy of humanity was hiding among them so nana is still very suspicious

  • @stanisawzokiewski3308

1 we are an audience of a reverse murder mystery. We have all of the information. -The characters who don’t go out of their way to investigate have only what they’ve been told and they have no idea what is the truth.
-they’ve been gaslighted into believing the existence of “enemies of humanity”
-they think everyone on the island has talents and that includes Nana
2 the whole school program is designed to make them easy targets
    -no doctor
    -no order, police, authorities
-isolated from the rest of the world
    -no proper training
3 Nana is cute girl who is nice to everyone and can cry on command. These are all assets that make it easier for her to get away with her crimes.
Womens convictions rates and sentences are lower for the same crimes. There is also the halo effect, people are more likely to believe attractive people.
And Nana is great at playing the victim and creating a narrative. If all else fail or she is questioned too much she can cry on command.
4 not everyone has expert knowledge or the investigation skills the deduce everything. She is a trained assassin they are average, self confident kids.
5 The events unfold rather rapidly, she got rid of the people who had the best chance of seeing the invents quickly and in a way that no one else was present or she had an excuse. They don’t exactly have months to compile evidence or make a case or question someone. And how would they question someone? Do they have the authority to?

I always thought that they were 16 or first year high school students in Japan as I could not find anywhere that lists their ages and their schooling is incredibly unique. Also the whole "I was out bonking someone" that Nana tells the Gyaru and her replying that she was a "dirty girl" would place their ages above 15 for me . So I was calling them high schoolers as I believed that they are in an alternative high school for people with talents as I thought it would be the way they filtered the talented students out of the general population for execution.

Also michiru asked about talents while Kyoyo is always investigating and finding out people's secrets so it's not like Nana is the only one looking for info. Except she doesn't usually ask it outright either - since they assume she knows already or can know from her mind reading, there's no reason to hide it from her.

All the reasons you're giving are why its dumb, writing a character that can see the future but cares more about pervert stuff than outing his killer is bad lazy writing, explaining it doesnt make it better, the necromancy moment where she convinced them not to ask the killer was also very stupid and made zero sense, the writing itself is stupid

"writing a character that can see the future but cares more about pervert stuff than outing his killer is bad lazy writing"
Except its not? He spent his entire life having his world determined for him. No matter what he does, what actions he takes, anything that appears in the pictures ends up happening. Its like living your entire life NOT HAVING FREE WILL.
Why would someone cursed with that kind of power that takes away your humanity, end up giving a crap about anyone and themselves? His hedonism is very believable. Nothing matters so just enjoy everything, right?
"she convinced them not to ask the killer was also very stupid and made zero sense"
The most social and well respected member of the class said the corpse was suffering and wanted to be put down. Objectively, it should have been convincing, the problem is that she didn't go too deep into the explanation, didn't try to manipulate their empathy and so on. She just said "He's suffering!" and ended it at that, when it should've been a minute long speech. Would have been nice to see her finesse the entire class with a talk about moral virtues.

@@adfasdfasd-w1l if he cares only about himself and knew he was going to die anyway he would have exposed her, so that even if he died he can still take some kind of revenge even though he inevitably dies,in fact he could have still taken advantage of her the way he wanted AND had a back up plan to expose her there was no reason for him to be as stupid as he was hedonistic or not, your second point makes even less sense, and you only used more words to explain why it's bad writing, she didn't give a good enough reason for them to not end the case then and there, the corpse is suffering is bad writing, realistically theres no kind of speech she could have given that would make them not still ask the corpse but they didn't even do that little you suggested, you think being the most social member of a high school class can make you make people be stupid when their life is at risk? the most social popular member in a class can't even stop a class from slacking off yet you somehow think they can say a few words to make a whole class do something stupid that would directly lead to their death? 😂 Were you homeschooled and got all your info about highschool students from Disney shows? Cause I can't imagine someone who actually knows what highschool is like would believe that being social and popular will make a whole class bend to your will especially when it directly affects their life/death

      "
"realistically theres no kind of speech she could have given that would make them not still ask the corpse"
Thanks for letting us know you're not a writer and never will be one. You telling me even the writer of Death Note wouldn't've been able to make it convincing?
"ou think being the most social member of a high school class can make you make people be stupid when their life is at risk?"
No, but they make you respected. And people listen to respected people. People "Believe you" when you tell them someone is suffering. People follow your orders when you tell them to do something.
You seem to have noticed how much nonsense that argument was. Since you conveniently took out the "respect" part when you quoted me.
" Were you homeschooled and got all your info about highschool students from Disney shows?"
Lets say yes. What does that make you then? If a homeschooled disney-kid like me can discard your points so easily. How humiliating for you.
"social and popular will make a whole class bend to your will especially when it directly affects their life/death"
Again, this is a matter of writing. The MC could've lied. Could've started screaming about how the dead body was in he1lish suffering. Or could've bluffed that The Undead couldn't actually talk. If she demanded the necromancer and the raised to say 2 different sentences at the same time, it would've been impossible (as it was confirmed in the show that the Necromancer was only puppeteering her zombies' speech)
This is what happens when your entire experience with writing is your elementary school plays.
