Mako and Bolin are excellent benders in their own right, but even together they're not on Unalaq's level. Reality itself can be affected simply depending upon a person’s mental state.

ISTG it wasn't Korra's fault that she lost her connection to her past lives, or her team's fault!!!! It was Unalaq's and Vaatu's fault!!! Not that Korra opened the Northern portal(because Unalaq threatened Korra by nearly murdering Jinora), not that she "wasn't fast enough"(because of Unalaq and his influence over Eska, Desna and his lackeys) !! It was because of Unalaq and Vaatu.
Does anyone ever wonder what would happen if korra spam all her elemental shot and made vaatu whole body disappear. I mean he regain his body back after 1 shot cus his whole body is still there
This was one of the things about the show that absolutely infuriated me. So much wasted potential. We never really got to see Aang be Korra’s mentor. Aang was the student in the original series, this should have had him as a spiritual teacher to Korra. Instead they basically wrote him off at the end of Season 2 and eliminated all the possibilities with the past lives.
I think this whole who's the better Avatar when it comes to Korra or Aang is nonsense. They are two completely different people with different approaches to their situations. Credit where it's due, Korra did defeat Vaatu by herself and she only failed due to being attacked from behind, that being said many of the situations that she finds herself in were often of her own making due to her being impulsive and reckless, and many of her defeats are due to lack of tactical foresight and ingenuity, in layman's terms she has trouble thinking outside the box. When it come to Aang to this day he is still the youngest Avatar that we know of to master all 4 element and the Avatar State. He also rediscovered energy bending, a skill he taught to Korra. While Korra is a prodigy at the physical aspect of bending, Aang is by far the more spiritual of the two which is demonstrated by the feats he performs in the Avatar State (i.e. the epic smackdown he laid on Ozai). Korra is most definitely a natural fighter and while our boy Aang is no slouch in a fight he is above all things a pacifist and his preferred solution to any conflict is diplomacy, a concept that Korra unfortunately lacks. That being said, Aangs approach of nonviolence has been known to backfire sometimes, as sometimes his pacifist nature can lead to indecisiveness and hesitation which has put himself and others at risk, a fact that Avatar Yangchen (the airbending avatar before him) criticized him on, an example of this would be how he handled Yakone, instead of putting him down permanently, he let him live by taking his bending away only for Yakobe to escape cutody and eventually sired children that inherited his potent bending abilities and he taught them to hate the Avatar. One of those kids became Amon. In summary, they both have their virtues and flaws and they learn how to adapt and grow as the become more experienced.
Also, Aang was just a relatively good bender, he wasn't a master in the three other elements especially earth and fire. That's like saying that because Zaheer was a relatively skilled air bender he was a master, when to actually be a master means being taught by an actual master and by traditional books. (like Tenzin who was all over Zaheer winning quite easily, who is an actual master) Aang was thought by prodigies not masters. Katara only got a few lessons from Pakku (an actual master) for a short time and got one scroll. Toph was just influenced by badger moles and wrestling (not an actual master). And Zuko was raised in a royal family which means he likely was trained by actual masters though his skills only picked up after meeting the sun warriors. Also It was explicitly said nearly at the end of the book 3 of ATLA by Toph and Zuko that Aang had a lot more to learn. (and these didn't even come from actual experienced masters ) But Korra got the whole plethora of knowledge and skills from the white lotus that is filled with actual masters. She also got Tenzin who was the son of Aang and had tattoos. All around Korra is a factually better bender than Aang. (both physically and spiritually)
I swear people’s complaints about this show make zero sense. They try too hard to compare everything to ATLA when it’s a different avatar in a different world. And don’t get me started on the people saying she “had it easy.”
Alright now that’s bullshit. She had that shit locked down, but because they couldn’t hold that guy off for like 30 more seconds, it all goes up in flames.
I blame this entire loss on Bolin and Mako. They had one job. And it was so easy! Bolin could have just created a wall around the portal! We all know if Toph or Katara was there, Unalaq would never have even got close to the Spirit World
You majorly underestimate Unalaq man😂. One of the best water benders we have seen ever. Only Katara would match him if we only talk about water bending. The guy was crazy powerful. Also a wall wouldn’t have done anything…

@Baribefe Kpurubu She only getting Ravaa and her past lives. Vattu was too strong in this and has more power over Ravaa at this point which is why Unalaq had more power. Ravaa says the more spirits turn dark the more power Vattu gets.
@@mr.kingofphenomenal4629 I'm going to disagree, and here's why: 1. A relationship with the White Lotus just seems an off reason for me, considering how weak they actually were in the Korra series. 2. Fight in chains? Iroh had no avatar state, Korra did (though she was poisoned). 3. Breathe fire? Well okay, but Aang breathed fire, Kyoshi breathed fire, even Azula and Ozai breathed fire, but we aren't calling those "dragons of the...." 4. I thought in honor to actually get that title, you had to slay a dragon? Korra may have mastered the elements at a young age, but that is barely shown in her fights.
Korra could really use general Iroh and his army in this situation, cause Mako and Bolin were not experienced in this kind of fight. Sure they are talented but talent can only get u so far, heck i dont even think the white lotus could be ant help seeing as they became to comfortable in the times of peace. Just because someone is the Avatar does not automatically make them better than any bender in existence. A master water bender like Unalaq will have no trouble keeping up with a young and still inexperienced fighter like Korra
My problem with Korra's avatar state is the same with Naruto KCM mode. Even tho controlling its more powerful, i feel like the "rage" mode is more effective. When Aang goes Avatar State or Naruto Rage mode you just KNOW shit it's about to go down.
You realize if avatar goes in rage mode they will wont have control over it and with her facing Vattu who really a threat. She has to play it carefully or else he might end up killing her in avatar state which Aang made mistake doing that in front of Azula.

He may be the most powerful villan but Kuvira was perfect since it would help Korra character development.
I liked Zahir as a villain, he presented a different challenge other than being an uber powerful spirit being. He presented PTSD, a very real and relatable condition to many struggling with it. It was well conceptualized.
Well ı agree with you. Other enemies may had deeper story but conecction between raava and vatuu is misused. Korra shouldn't have merged with raava again. Raava should have â final battle with him and zarar after all zaher was after raava not korra

He was a master water bender. Easily outclassing Korras bending team; I’m not surprised that Korra at the age of 18 and with no real combat experience lost to him
Mako and Bolin are excellent benders in their own right, but even together they're not on Unalaq's level. People that still say Korra didn't do bending on a massive scale need to pay closer attention to what she did here. The elemental sphere she made around Vaatu (as did Wan 10,000 years earlier) was actually much bigger and had more mass than the ones Aang formed around himself on a regular basis.
That true.
Pretty sure he made at least as large or larger ball of air plus ice in the sea

@@mr.kingofphenomenal4629 Dude, you're telling me that just because the avatars don't have experience with the dark avatar she loses. He would just resummons himself. He is a spirit. An immortal spirit. He cannot be destroyed as he cant also destroy ravva forever.
Still an "imprisonment" for 10,000 years
This was one of the things about the show that absolutely infuriated me.
Korra actually has more spiritual feats than Aang.
And they're more advanced also.
Also a lot of what you said about Korra's recklessness was only ever in s1 and 2. She literally made a whole 180 after that.
Also, Aang was just a relatively good bender, he wasn't a master in the three other elements especially earth and fire.
That's like saying that because Zaheer was a relatively skilled air bender he was a master, when to actually be a master means being taught by an actual master and by traditional books. (like Tenzin who was all over Zaheer winning quite easily, who is an actual master)
Aang was thought by prodigies not masters.
(and these didn't even come from actual experienced masters )
But Korra got the whole plethora of knowledge and skills from the white lotus that is filled with actual masters. She also got Tenzin who was the son of Aang and had tattoos.
All around Korra is a factually better bender than Aang. (both physically and spiritually)
