@@Adirbal In the new zed comic, it was revealed that eveeybody saw it like that, it was just an illusion that fades when you get to touch it or something, idk.
So something I love about League cinematics is how the in-game abilities of the characters are implemented. Sometimes it's a bit more obvious like the charged two-handed power strike Sion(The giant) does at 4:51, or how Draven(the bored king-looking dude) in his opening shot is spinning that knife like he does his signature spinning axes later. But its also done subtly at times, such as when Jhin(The masked piano dude) has his unique ammo/reload mechanic implemented into the cinematic when you see him fire exactly 4 shots, or when you see Yasuo(Tornado samurai) doing his tornado into dash ability combo. I didn't even catch the Yasuo thing until I watched this video and saw the frame by frame. I'd list every ability that's thrown in there if there weren't so many because as a fan, that's SUPER hype to me. Some extra fun lore-based tidbits I feel like throwing out: -The sword Draven threw to Riven(Gladiator girl) in the arena was no random sword, but her signature broken runeblade she had before her imprisonment for treachery(the two of them are/were military bigwigs, they know each other). So when Draven throws the weapon right around 3:59 they show it at multiple angles: One to see Draven himself throwing the blade, another at the side so that fans can realize that it's HER signature sword, and then the blade-POV shot so that the viewer knows it's being thrown at her. Draven in-lore is an arrogant executioner that lives for the show. He lets his victims run for the hill and if they manage to avoid getting a spinning axe to the back, they can go (Spoiler alert, they don't). So when I see that I'm thinking, "Is this cheeky bastard doing what I think he's doing?" and later when he's running to jump down into the arena I'm yelling "Hell YEAH he's doing what I think he's doing!" -Sylas(Chain-whip dude in "Warriors") is from Demacia, a knightly-esque nation where magic is forbidden. Commoner mages such as him were imprisoned and mistreated merely for discovering they have aptitude. Lux(blonde mage girl) along with her brother Garen(Sword Berserker dude) are Demacian nobility fighting with their countrymen against Sylas' newly-freed army of persecuted mages. Lux and Garen try to hide Lux's aptitude for magic (as do all of the nobility hypocritically do, which fuels Sylas' wrath) hence why she gets tossed around early on in the cinematic until one of Sylas' grunts drops a magic staff. The giant Lux summons at the end of the cinematic from the sky is another character named Galio, who is a sentient magic colossus that utilizes absorbed magic to move around. The magic absorbing material Galio is made of is called "Petricite", the same thing Sylas' gauntlets are made of(the glowy sword you see him manifest as he's about to finish off a downed Garen is in fact Garen's sword, and a demonstration of Sylas' signature ability of absorbing magic and utilizing the skills of his enemies against them). Funnily enough, Lux previously visited Sylas in prison and learned from him how to control her own magic. Sylas in return would ask Lux for books from her family's prestigious libraries, which eventually led to him learning that his Petricite shackles ABSORB magic rather than suppress it. He then uses an unwitting Lux's powers to break out and start his revolution to overthrow the whole country.
Fucking ignore this pricks. I loved reading this and as a fellow lol player i really enjoyed some more indepth stuff. People saying virgin and get a life are the losers themselves and u already know they feed and flame jg for their loss every game
Ehh saddly nobody wrote that before me, so i must write this all. Ye, who the characters are? 1st Awaken: Jhin (piano guy) is a murder, but when he kills, he dont see blood, only pure art. Camille (his opponent) is one of clan's Ferros best agents. She was sent to hunt jhin when he arrived to Piltover (tech city) Then we have arena in Noxus, qith 2 champions- Riven and Draven. Riven was Noxian solider while first invasion on Ionia happen. Generally her lore is quite long, so ill just say that she left army and tryied to live in Ionia. But then when Noxus attacked Ionia 2nd time she was found by Noxians, which said that she is deserter, and sended her on arena. Draven is famous executioner, and he can make a show from every kill. He is aslo brother of one of Noxian's leaders. Then we have war. Its the second Noxian invasion on Ionia (so it happens before arena scenes). We can see here Irelia (girl with blades). She was leader of villagers fighting for their homeland during 1st invasion, and now she command them again. Sion (BIG GUY) is dead solider revived by Noxian grand general, Swain. He is just killing machine. There are a lot of other characters at this war, but i cant speak about everyone, so ill just say that their names are: Akali (ninja with shroud) Kennen (tiny lightning mage) Karma (shield enchanter) and Yasuo. (Yasuo was banned from his homeland because Ionians thought that he killed his own master, but he didnt do that- his master was slain by... Riven) Aaand- here is second cinematic. The frost castle is in Demacia, biggest Noxian's enemys. Girl's name is Lux, and she is mage. In Demacia mages are hunted and murdered/prisoned, so she was hiding her powers. Her brother Garen (guy with sword) is one of Demacia's best soliders. They both are members of Crownguard- Demacian noble family. Their enemy is Sylas. He is mage, and unfortunally he was caught when he was just a child. Demacians closed him into cage, where he spent about 20 years. (Thats all only because he was mage- and thats why Lux didnt want to use her powers at fight) Sylas met Lux, and she helped him escape. She thought he will just go away. But he didnt. He started mage revolution, and now with barbarians from Freljord he is trying to conquer Demacia. Fight in green scenario happens in Piltover, like earlier Jhin's fight. Characters here are Caitlyn (sniper) and Vi (gauntlet girl). They are cops. Bad guy's name is Urgot, and he want to test everyone's strenght. Test with hard wepon and chemicalies. And... Here we go, last part. Ezreal (boi with blond hairs) is explorer from Piltover. He is trying to steal Tear of the Godess (its ingame item). Btw he is dating with Lux. Strange/void girl's name is Kai'Sa. She was captured by Void when she was child. She survived with void monsters only because she became one of them. She is predator, which can absorbe blood from dead enemys. But she still have human mind, and she is trying to dont kill peaple, and protect them from Void monsters. She is one of most tragic characters, because peaple cant see her real form. They see only another monster, because its rly hard for her to take off her helmet- sun is literally burning her skin. She lives in darkness, and if she wants to go outside of Void, she is wearing this predator helmet. Btw her suit is part of her skin. Thats why she were so suprised when Ezreal decided to help her. Usually peaple are running away or even trying to attack her. And after all, sorry for my terrible grammar. English isnt my main language, so im making a lot of mistakes, ok?
One little thing, Kait and Vi is probably not in Piltover, but in Zaun - underground mirror city of rich and elitistic Piltover. Thanks for your comment anyway :)
@@Brainth_1780 The Lux scene is a fort at the edge of Demacia, closest to the Freljord. Sylas showed Sejuani an unknown path to get so close so that they can raid, while Sylas uses the opportunity to strike at Demacia. I believe that is where the comic left off just before it.
You did great. If you hadn't done this, I was going to. The one thing I watch from reaction videos of League stuff is to have the watcher follow with a look into the lore of what they just watched. I've seen so many react and love it and then guess a bit wrong about who they were just watching. Myself knowing the lore deeply makes what these videos show mean so so so so so much to me. I still scream at the Get Jinxed music video....I played ONLY her for about 5 years, starting the day she was released.
One of my favorite lore points that goes under appreciated is the segment in the warriors cinematic involving the blonde haired guy and battle angel girl teaming up (Ezreal and Kai'sa Respectively). IIRC, Ezreal is an adventurer that is essentially self-indulgence personified. He lives to please only himself, and one of his hobbies that illustrates that is his tendency to raid ancient sites for relics to keep for himself or sell for money. These relics usually are infused with ancient powers that allow him to do things like teleport and shoot magic, despite him being a normal human. He shows an example of this in the cinematic by taking the Tear of the Goddess (an item that both him and Kai'sa build in the actual game) and triggering an ambush of voidlings. These are creatures from the void, an evil place that holds immense power, and terrifying monsters (Cho'gath, Rek'sai, etc.). Kai'sa was born in the void, and the suit serves as a symbiote (Think Venom or Carnage from the DC Universe). That suit is alive and helps her survive in the void, and fight the evil beings that live there. The coolest part IMO is when Ezreal decides to help her fight, and the consequences of that happening. My interpretation is that he's fighting between his obvious instinct to be selfish and save himself, and the "But what if....." in his head. Kai'sa is seen so rarely that she is actually considered a myth to people in the League Universe, so to Ezreal it's like Bigfoot just came to save him. I believe in the middle of fleeing, he has a thought that is ironically self-indulgent in and of itself..."So little people even see Kai'sa, much less fight alongside her, or even save her. Is risking my life worth being able to tell this story?" You bet your ass it is. So he turns around, saves Kai'sa and helps her fight off the voidlings. The idea that this normal guy that's essentially a tomb raider, and lives only for himself, doesn't just get the opportunity to see the legendary Kai'sa in person, but takes it to another level and fights by her side as her equal, immediate goosebumps. Such an underappreciated story. He's probably one of the only people, if not THE only person, in the UNIVERSE to be able to say that he didn't just see Kai'sa, he fought shoulder to shoulder with her against the forces of evil. Imagine how badass you would feel knowing as ordinary as you are, you're the only person in existence to be able to tell that story.
Kaisa was not born in the void. She was born in the desert of the Fallen Empire of Shurima and was taken to the void after freeing animals that would be sacrificed to the void.
As far as I remember the lore is that Ezreal's parents where adventurers aswell, but some day they disappeared (and maybe died) while on expedition, so Ezreal, who refused to belive that they are dead, went out become the best adventurer there is, hoping that his parents might hear of his adventures and come back for him
The reason why camera at the start of awaken is askew is because the guy in the mask, jhin is not mentally stable (he sees killing as art). Thats why it is constantly turning, to make you feel like something is wrong and unstable in the presence of him.
I love watching people who've never played the game react to these cinematics. It's literally almost as awesome as experiencing them again for the first time. That and the added bonus of maybe picking up a new reason to enjoy the videos I may have never noticed on my own. Thank you for your perspective and enthusiasm.
I can't wait for Chris to see Annie:Origins, Fiddlesticks Reveal Trailer, and Curse of the Sad Mummy from Riot Games. Overwatch has what I would call real personalities to their characters which I think adds to the cinematic quality compared to League of Legends not really giving their champions much personality. Honor and Glory and Zero Hour from Blizzard's Overwatch team are both amazing.
If you're talking about the cinematics then I agree that they don't get much of a personality in there. But if you know the lore and storys from universe you get a really good look into all the champions and whole runeterra. I got into lore with the videos from Necrit if someone here wants to know lore and is to lazy too read go check him out Edit: spelling
there's over 140 champions in league, making unique videos for each of them would likely be difficult. this is why they started branching out into the comics so they can try and give more context to champions who may either be in the spotlight, but need more lore...or to champions who hide in the shadows
All the “Tales of Runeterra” cinematics are not music related and are awesome. They’re basically trailers for factions of a League of Legends card game(Legends of Runeterra)
5:32 "That is so gorgeous mate"... pls remember that that is seen through the eyes of jhin, whats actually happening is those are flying chunks of flesh and sprays of blood erupting from those traps.
The Squidest Squid it is true to the lore though, jhin puts illusions over his victims as to make them into art. He turned people fighting beside Zed into flesh flowers.
True and sometimes even for others it looks like an artwork at first but turns into horrifying brutality as was shown in one of the comics where kayn finds one of his victims
According to the lore that’s not true anymore, the Ionian magic on Jhin’s weapons permit him to create those illusions, but when flesh touches the artwork, the magic turns into the gruesome result it used to be.
The character with cables out of her hips is Camille. She's not inspired only by Attack on Titan. She's inspired by Lin Beifong from Avatar: Legend of Korra. Lin and Camille share the same design and have the same fighting styles, plus they are cops.
Also the color of her eyes change because even though Jhin is an adc (physic damage) his traps are ap (magic damage) and the Camille in game passive is gaining a shield based on the type of damage, orange for physical dmg and blue to magic dmg
37:23 I like how as the minion pulls the lever; the green glow then starts to light him up and pulls us into the next point of attention. Mr. Shootie Scuttle Pants.(Urgot) The videos find different ways to pull our attention and keep it moving. Like the lights illuminating just off the screen before a cut to it, change in camera focus with that sword behind Riven before it focuses on her face, parallaxing the next focus point in front of the camera, and matching compositions in between scenes. Because our eyes are already at the previous point of interest before the cut. They are just masterful at keeping your attention flowing. Which is how they keep it so mesmerizing and immersive.
I'd never ever watch a 40 minute video of someone trying to explain cool details from 2 cinematic trailers, But this dude makes it look and sound so interesting i couldn't stop watching it. He even makes it sound fun :?
Its so funny for everyone who actually play League of Legends when they cut after Lux goes airborne.. Its sad they did not film it. But we ALL know what happend to the dudes on the other side :3
9:26 at this scene lux literally doing same thing that she did toward sky but stronger... from her eyes you can see reflection of light coming from direction she is looking most of enemies will have most serius case of burning injury there
@@МатејаВрбановић also, it would have been problematic since there are so many visual effects, especially in teamfights, and making it looking gorgeous would have cost some players like 50 fps, which is big Yikes.. And Riot wants to keep their playerbase as big as possible
About the first scene, the "blue scene" where the camera is twisting around... I would say that since that is the only scene with that "twisting" camera it would be to show that the character shown is twisted as well, wich makes sense since that's a psycho assassin that makes art from murdering
27:14 This frame is epic for the 'Maestro concept' that concludes in (he bows to his audience). I love all the 3 stories that this epic cinematic introduces. But just wow really this frame and meaning i just couldn't love it more.
The League cinematic named ''A New Dawn'' is a must watch. edit: ok I forgot how good all of the cinematics are and how many there are. I literally just recommend watching all of them LOLL

I said the same thing while watching this. I started playing League 7 years ago, and every bit of media Riot comes out with sends me into a frenzy for the game.
a new dawn makes even less sense if u have never played the game. since it plays around summoners rift not any lore or story. the new bilgewater cinematic would be great
The song you thought you know is from imagine dragons, they made it in 2014 for a tournament video called Warriors ft. Imagine dragons, the song is amazing and probably the best league of legends had in any music video. This Warriors you have seen now is their 10 year anniversary so they remade the song into an orchestra with a choir and is it fucking amazing.
Warriors is also just a stunningly beautiful cinematic. Especially the details when the girl had her helmet thing off and her hair flowed, must of took so much effort to make
I think a few commenters have pointed it out but the character in Awaken that you were commenting on that had the really nice blues and purples is named Jhin. An integral part of Jhin's backstory is that he's a serial killer but a very deranged one who believes all his killings are beautiful works of art and he sets the scenario up to be as if he and his victims are in a play. That's why the scene with him in it looks so visually pleasing. Additionally he is obsessed with the number four and if you count during his scenes he actually only ever fires 3 shots. Basically his final 4th shot is the finale and as he takes his bow and the "performance" for him is ended he is about to fire his final shot but ofc they leave it a mystery whether he or the Attack on Titan lady (named Camille btw) will win. It's great because it's really subtle story telling that is visually pleasing for casual viewers such as yourself to watch but also incredibly gratifying for more hardcore viewers who understand more of the intricate lore and meanings behind the characters and the world. And this happens in almost every frame of these videos. Also please go back and watch the old cinematic called "A New Dawn"
You randomly popped while I was looking at all the Warriors cinematic recommendation and at first I though "damn,40 mins video? I'll just watch his faces during the cinematics and then stop" but jesus christ I sat on my bed and watched the full video and enjoyed it more than I could have imagined! Keep up the amazing works,I'll go watch your other videos too now🤙🏻
If you want more storytelling or movie-like cinematics, you should watch the Tales of Runeterra series, you see more of character interactions and their personalities and stuff
I love his reactions man. So genuine, so enjoying, idk, watching this gave me chills all over the cinematics just because his reactions kinda hyped me up too
At 27:19 , the character with the gun, named Jhin is a serial killer and an artist. He finds killing people an art and he is giving them the most beautiful death, as part of his art. So at that scene of the clip you realise, he orchestrated this so He would have a beautiful death. Bowing forward, so the attack on titan lady, Camille can sever His head clean with her guillotine legs. There is so much simbolism and little things that make these clips much more awesome to fans.
You should do the League of Legends cinematics "Call of power" and "A new dawn". The League cinematics don't have a particular order like the World of Waracraft ones, there's just newer and older ones. Great video as always though!
Is seemed that this man is very good at his job, when he talked about colors, he had the red at his right and then he said that there could be a blue light at the side of the characters, and he does have the fkin blue light at his side
I want to enjoy things in life with the absolute purity with which this dude enjoys watching these videos for the first time. We all need that level of pure joy in our lives.
Call of power is by far the best cinematic that Riot ever made and no one remember it, really sad that people only care about of the cinematic with skin salers champions
I was crying while watching warriors for the first time, it was so beautiful and also bc it was so nostalgic for me (warriors first time came out in 2014, year i started playing league). I was feeling like i was sitting on needles whole time watching, i was feeling chills all around my body and addrenaline was pumping like crazy. One of the best cinematics in my opinion, For sure.
its as they say: Riot created LoL to promote their music. League makes more music videos with amazing songs and animation, they're all as epic as this and you could review them all honestly. They're either to promote skins for the characters of the game or sometimes it's for some lore when there's new characters and there's others for special events like esports championships. But all of them (or almost all) are song videos and all are super high quality. Overwatch makes more.. "story" videos (even if Overwatch not having a well defined lore is kind of a meme). They also use good music of course, but the videos look more like "what if Pixar was making shorts" kind of deal. At the end of the day, both companies make insanely good animated videos and you can go and react to them any time, you won't be with a lack of content for a while and we love watching those videos, no matter how many times we do it, plus your reactions to the videos are always great! ps: you might've heard that song "warriors" before as it is a song from an older LoL video. The song is called "warriors", the other video is also called "warriors". That song is originally by Imagine Dragons and they used it here with a slower, more darker tone and a girl singing.
In the gladiator scene, the guy (Draven) that threw the sword to the girl (Riven) meant a lot. Because the sword is actually her weapon. So, Draven throwing her main weapon to her is like, (here is a your best weapon, we gonna fight on even term.

Some extra fun lore-based tidbits I feel like throwing out:
-The sword Draven threw to Riven(Gladiator girl) in the arena was no random sword, but her signature broken runeblade she had before her imprisonment for treachery(the two of them are/were military bigwigs, they know each other). So when I see that I'm thinking, "Is this cheeky bastard doing what I think he's doing?" and later when he's running to jump down into the arena I'm yelling "Hell YEAH he's doing what I think he's doing!"
-Sylas(Chain-whip dude in "Warriors") is from Demacia, a knightly-esque nation where magic is forbidden.

@@JMBE21 the. What
@@JMBE21 wait, what?
@@JMBE21 Excuse me, what the fork?
Wait what just happened before i came here
Ehh saddly nobody wrote that before me, so i must write this all.
Ye, who the characters are?
1st Awaken:
Jhin (piano guy) is a murder, but when he kills, he dont see blood, only pure art.
Camille (his opponent) is one of clan's Ferros best agents. She was sent to hunt jhin when he arrived to Piltover (tech city)
Then we have arena in Noxus, qith 2 champions- Riven and Draven.
Riven)
Aaand- here is second cinematic.
(Thats all only because he was mage- and thats why Lux didnt want to use her powers at fight)
Sylas met Lux, and she helped him escape.
Thanks for your comment anyway :)
i couldn't have explained it better
Isn't the Garen-Lux-Sylas scene happening in a Demacian base in Freljord? Because of the climate and everything
@Poor Quality Gameplay True true
Kassadin saw kai sa
Kaisa was not born in the void. She was born in the desert of the Fallen Empire of Shurima and was taken to the void after freeing animals that would be sacrificed to the void.
With that perspective, it's actually badass
As far as I remember the lore is that Ezreal's parents where adventurers aswell, but some day they disappeared (and maybe died) while on expedition, so Ezreal, who refused to belive that they are dead, went out become the best adventurer there is, hoping that his parents might hear of his adventures and come back for him

"A New Dawn" is also awesome!
Is not that good is a storytelling and i like Tahm kench better
The reason why camera at the start of awaken is askew is because the guy in the mask, jhin is not mentally stable (he sees killing as art). Thats why it is constantly turning, to make you feel like something is wrong and unstable in the presence of him.
for me. i see his talent justifies all his actions

I got into lore with the videos from Necrit if someone here wants to know lore and is to lazy too read go check him out
Edit: spelling
He would 100% love Annie: Origins as it has really incredible transitions.
there's over 140 champions in league, making unique videos for each of them would likely be difficult. this is why they started branching out into the comics so they can try and give more context to champions who may either be in the spotlight, but need more lore...or to champions who hide in the shadows

Delete this please
@@squidinacan1442 ?
I mean she's not a cop, she's technically an inquisitor. More of a government official.
Press F for poor viktor who didnt get to experience the thiccness before she died.

The "warriors" music video is 100% the best example on how important sound design is. I get goosebumps every time i watch it xD
One of the best cinematics in my opinion, For sure.
its as they say:
Riot created LoL to promote their music.
Alucard Wasn't the original Warriors song made for the championship? Also I wonder what he'll think of the Arcane series when it comes out.
Fun fact: the second song is a cover of Imagine Dragons’ “Warriors”, which is a song they wrote for the 2014 LoL World Championship
In collaboration with Imagine Dragons, who were massive fans and players of the game, no less!
ruclips.net/video/fmI_Ndrxy14/видео.html thats the one
They also performed at that world championships but it always annoyed/confused me because they didn't perform warriors?!
U should react on "Overwatch Infiltration" and "Overwatch Shooting Star".
You'd love them
Infiltration is my favorite Overwatch cinematic lol
In the gladiator scene, the guy (Draven) that threw the sword to the girl (Riven) meant a lot. Because the sword is actually her weapon.
So, Draven throwing her main weapon to her is like, (here is a your best weapon, we gonna fight on even term.
I saw your Blizzard Reacts and then the League of Legends cinematics. I came here and was not disappointed!
