    I don't quote prices as my viewers are all over the world, ask your local shop, I'm thankful for equipment loaned long term and consumables like targets and ammunition to;

Mine is based on eleven years of paid professional written reviews of shooting equipment in magazines in England, U.S. Europe and Scandinavia. Looks like a great rifle ....that bolt is so clinical....the polymer mag looks very easy to load especially with light gloves or cold fingers. The locking mech on it is a good idea. It didn't seem too fussy with ammo too. Great review as per Chris 👍🏻

    I like the mag catch with simple locking arrangement. Cocking/decocking is also nice and simple. I gather that a few hunters have been caught out by the Blaser system and consequently failed to take an animal.

    Just like the hybrid or electric cars, straight pull action rifles are here to stay as the future of hunting guns (not assault rifles). They may not have the charm of a double barrel rifle or the tradition of the rotating bolt, but we will see more and more manufacturers offering new models. With the Jaeger NXT C. G. Haenel enters this club as the 14th manufacturer of this type of center fire ammo rifle on the market today:
    Rößler/Rowa (or Roessler) - Austria
    Strasser - Austria
    Browning - Belgium
    Lynx - Finland
    Chapuis - France
    Verney-Carron - France
    Blaser - Germany
    Heym - Germany
    Merkel - Germany
    Steel Action - Germany
    Beretta - Italy
    ADAR Ladoga - Russia
    Savage - USA
    and now
    Haenel - Germany
    Congratulations and greetings from Brazil.

      Don't think they'll ever become the standard like turn bolts are. Far too expensive to produce, thus being too expensive to sell. and I don't see the advantage. If I want a faster follow up shot for boar hunting I'll just use my AR-10 type semi automatic.
      But if those can't be legally acquired in your area I guess that's where the straight Pull comes in

    Hi Chris, good to see you at the NEC, the other week. I had a look at the NXT myself. Other than the limited calibre offering (at the moment) my only concern was the actuation of the safety / cocker system. Is there any risk of inadvertently, pushing the bolt handle forward from the safe/decocked position to the fire position, whilst carrying the rifle?

    • @chrisparkin431
      @chrisparkin431  2 года назад +7

      The catch on the back of the shroud will also lock the bolt 'de-cocked' for further confidence, I forgot to mention it on the video but markings are there

    Hi Chris! I saw the gun in a store, I wanted to buy one but it seems to me that the cocking/decocking system works very hard, is there any chance to make it work more easily?
    I have noticed this in several reviews, when you reload the weapon sometimes remains in the decocked position, the reloading movement must be done with strength..

    I rather like this NXT rifle from Haenel. I think I will buy one in 9,3x62 for next years Moose sesong. I all ready have a Steel-Action in 338 win mag and that is an exelent rifle but I think that this one is that also. At least I hope so:) Nice rewiev, thanx!

    Hi, great review as ever 👍
    Couple of tech questions for you.... How's the barrel attached - is it threaded or sweated?
    What's the recoil lug arrangement?
    Thanks

    • @chrisparkin431
      @chrisparkin431  2 года назад +1

      threaded, RUclips tend to de-monetise videos that show too much technical detail. The recoil lug is sandwiched on tenon between barrel and receiver
