It's expected they will add someone with George Pickens and Roman Wilson, the question is who? Technically, that was his primary position when he first entered the NFL, so, it would make sense to do that, if you ask me.
As #2?? Hell no! If that happened we would be down bad. But I do see him getting touches 3-4 times a game on screens , short yardage plays. He will be involved, same as Calvin Austin
Allen Robinson isn’t an outside receiver either.

Good info exactly what i was wondering today who we bring in calvin austin and denzel mims cant be trusted if one of the top two dudes get hurt.
I’m not too concern about the receiving position in general anymore. Yes I would love to see another great receiver added, but we added Roman Wilson who will be our WR2 in this offense next to our true WR1 George Pickens. And Pat Freiermuth is such a great receiving option that we haven’t been using correctly and with Arthur Smith now OC, Pat will likely be Russell’s and Justin’s 2nd receiving option on the team behind Pickens. I’d like to see them get someone to be WR3, but they don’t need to spent big money or get a flashy name and I wouldn’t even care if they use one of the other guys already in the locker room to be our WR3. I rather then use their money to add to the CB room
he's a slot receiver we need another receiver in the outside
@@jayjames4629why's he a slot WR? Because that's what someone told you? He runs great routes, has great vision to break routes when the play breaks down, catches passes with his hands and has the speed to get deep.
@@jayjames4629 he played a lot of slot in his final season of college. But he’s like diontae Johnson where his speed and route running gives him the ability to play both outside and slot at a very high level. Even Arthur Smith said he intends to use Roman in both slot and on the outside. Roman will likely play outside WR very similar to how Diontae played and as opposed to playing outside like how Pickens would.
I still don't understand why we gave Johnson away so cheap. We should at least got a third round pick for him.
I don't think none of Yinz understand
1) that we are going to SHOW run 65-70% of the time. Every pass in Smith's system is built off the same exact motions/Timing/sets/personell of a running play. They are not coming out randomly 4-5 wide on 1st and 10 or 2nd and 10.
2) Friermuth won't be a TE in Smith's offense he will be a slot WR basically
3) Smith doesn't use 3 WRs in the traditional sense very much at all.
4) Van Jefferson was the #2 leading receiver on a Superbowl winning team 3 years ago and 1 season removed from an injury, he now will be fully healed n ready.
5) we rebuilt the O-Line, have 2 QBs who extend plays and can run, so more time for receivers to get open, and almost any NFL WR can get open with enough time.
6) WE ARE GOING TO RUN THE BALL.

Dude - if the Steelers run the ball 55% of the time, Tomlin will be ecstatic. Check the historical data. Anything over 50% of the time is extraordinary in the NFL.
@@TheRasiani ok I didn't properly word it.... They will show run 65-70% of the time. Outside of obvious passing situations, Smith hides run/pass brilliantly. We will show run constantly. Every pass play is built to be ran off a pass play, same exact movements, same personell, Same formation. The passing game is built off disguise.....
@@TheRasiani I didn't word it properly, my bad, they will show run that much, Smith's offense is built off disquse and trickery, every pass play is built off a run play, same personell, same movements, same timing, everything.... Outside of obvious passing situations, your getting the same exact looks all game long...
They arent randomly coming out 4 wide on first and 10 or 2nd and 8.

I'm not that worried with the WR Group, but the only WR I could see signed is DJ Chark. Big receiver runs a 4.3 40 and based on the group Pittsburgh wants athletes who can run/block. Besides Sutton the rest of the list is either old or have a bad injury history. Chark has a injury history but I would settle on him being another WR for the possibility of making the 53.

With 2 or 3 tightend there are plenty of guys to take the top off for the run or over the middle

On that list, only DJ Chark would be: a] affordable; b] reliable. Bengals aren't gonna let Boyd go to a division rival.
Almost everyone on that list is a 500 to 700 yards/year, 3-4 TDs/year. I would rather the team pay Aiyuk, get the production, then pay half that amount and get the same production you could from a rookie contract player.
Boyd is a FA and they don't have a say on if he goes to a division Rival

DJ Charks Jr. would be nice cheap WR2. I wouldn't waste a 2025 draft pick on either Sutton, Samuels, or Aiyuk, even though they're good WR, it will cause drama in the WR room with Pickens since they all believe they can be WR1.
Martavis Bryant or Smith Schuster offer a 1 year deal it doesn’t hurt

not that this is the likeliest option, but a wildcard is corey davis. considering the jets have wilson, williams, corley and lazard, davis would be the odd man out by default, that and he was on a one year sabbatical. what is left to be determined is cost, plus if he can return to his titans form under arthur smith
I think Odell makes sense, he doesn’t get a ton of separation anymore but as a 3rd 4th option he still seems pretty reliable with his IQ and experience, he did bad on the ravens because of scheme mainly

I'm in on Courtland Sutton. Boyd, Aiyuk...sure, they're great...but we need some money to add a true #2 outside corner. (Curious about Cam Sutton...a LOT of negotiating would have to happen given his current predicament...but I bet his price just came down...?)

That’s the problem with our steeler fan base a lot of you give up on players easily…. You’re not taking into consideration his offseason training you don’t think Pickens knows what he has to get better at? Hell diontae wasn’t as good as recently… there’s always room for improvement Pickens hasn’t even hit his prime yet
@@G6.1pickens had 3 games over 100 yds in that 5 game span and one game was 75. He had one down game vs houston. This guy is exaggerating.
Most of those players are washed.
As far CBs are concerned, the Steelers should bring back Witherspoon on a 1 year deal.
