    so much choice. think 1975 a terodactyl hammer in the left hand and a Snowden mouldings curved as the ice axe. carry a third short tool for desperate stuff incase one of the others breaks. wear leather padded ski gloves to spare your knuckles a beating. Train for steep ice with one arm lockouts and bare knuckle fighting in Chamonix bars to harden those knuckles. stuff was actually climbed this way.

    The Corsa Alpine has an aluminum shaft but the head is steel, unlike the regular Corsa where all parts are aluminum and there is no plug in the shaft. The Nanotech is a nice blend with a steel tip to the axe atop a mostly aluminum head plus a steel spike and nylon plug in the aluminum shaft to decrease weight, provide slightly better penetration, and keep the edge longer.
