Putting AD at the 5 limits what he can do, having him at the 4 majority of the time would really open things up for him
Having him at PF limits our whole roster, meaning no minutes for Rui, Vando, & dalton. Also the NBA is very different from 2020 lol.. we played portland & houston in the playoffs 😂

Trade for Capela. He is great in transition offense and a lob threat like Hayes but Capela gives you much better and consistent defense, screen setting, focus, and rebounding. But keep Wood and Hayes as backup frontcourt options. AD and Capela would be a force. If not Capela, maybe wait for when Jonas Val becomes available for a trade because he is a bruising center who can also give AD help in the starting frontcourt. Capela is better and more conditioned, but Jonas might be a better fit because he can shoot the three and has more size. I still think AD should play some minutes at center throughout games, but I don’t want him to be exhausted and not able to use his versatility at the power forward position where he can create mismatches and showcase his skills like in New Orleans.

Also, they need to be healthy - Vanderbilt and Gabe are key to the rotation. Jokic is prolific but make no mistake about how the others contributed to their success.

Jaxson Hayes cannot play defense against the bigger centers like an Embiid or a Jokic! If he want’s Anthony Davis to play the 4? He better trade Rui or one of the guards D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reeves, or Gabe Vincent for a Mitchell Robinson and do this trade while his value is down.

Ad was at the elbow alot in this offense and when he was at the 3 he was picking and rolling to the basket... ham was awful last year in every aspect we were lucky to make the playoffs... yes jj makes that much of a difference because he won't play ppl that make critical mistakes

@@DubDubeee Position-less basketball means that you don't over prioritize traditional position values when deciding your line-ups. As long as your line-up meets most of the fundamental requirements to be an effective unit, that's all that matters. The thing is that some of those fundamentals are found almost inherently with certain size groups. Not all centers are going to be better rebounders than positions 1-4, but typically they are, so if you want to have a good rebounding unit, you need to at least match the other team's size, and that is where the misunderstanding lies with 'position-less' basketball. It's not about if your line-ups check all the boxes regardless of traditional position values in a vacuum (on paper), but if it can match-up against other units without stressing traditional position values, like handing out defensive assignments where you ask your 6'7-6'8 guy to guard the opposing SF, simply because they are of similar size, because the truth may be that your 6'4 guy, which is traditionally a guard, may be stronger than your 6'7 guy, and may be able to guard the opposing SF better, or if your team wants to switch defensively, there is no point of designing your line-up to match the traditional values to match-up 1:1 in man to man defense, because they are just going to be switched off to a smaller or bigger player anyways. Now, if you have a a line-up full of wings, most wings will struggle to stay in front of shifty guards, and wings aren't big enough to bang with hefty centers. So the match-up or defensive dynamics often make is difficult to take away a center and still be effective defensively, or take away a guard that can slither around and through screens, as bigger players with wider shoulders get caught on screens easier as we saw with Rui trying to navigate screens. So the freedom of dropping position labels within position-less basketball is mostly seen 1-4, because you have forwards that can handle the ball and play like a point guard. The thing is, position-less usually applies when shifting bigger guys into roles usually occupied by guards. It's not common you can get guards effectively playing the role of forwards. The OKC Thunder did it with 6'5 Williams at the PF, but it only got them so far. The Knicks, with Josh Hart at the 4 can work, because he's an elite rebounder, same with Russell Westbrook if given minutes, but its not common. It's more common that you get 6'6 - 6'9 guys that can play like guards than 6'2-6'5 guys that can play like forwards. So most times a team can claim to be position-less, but because of match-ups with most teams, still needs a proper center in their line-up. So while position-less basketball is the modern NBA, mostly due to switching becoming a widely used defensive strategy, its more so freedom to think outside of the box, and not to be trapped by traditional position values, but you still have the responsibility to match-up to the teams you have to face, and so you gain more freedom, but not complete freedom to where you can run a 6'2 guy at center and a 7'1 guy at point guard in pick n roll (you can have centers that can facilitate from the post and elbow--just won't see any handling the rock like CP3 at 7'1). You see what I mean?
