Habs fan here...congrats Toronto Leafs fans on the win agains the Bolst ! Well deserved and i was rooting for ya 100% ! Finally another team than the Lightning will be in the east final...this will be good !
Him shouting _"COME ON!"_ over and over sounded less like him celebrating, and more like him screaming at all of the past failures that he had to endure just to get to this point. As if the success itself picked open the scab and reminded him of just how painful it had been for so long.
Whether you like the team or not. It was so nice to just watch him get to live this. Make all the “they’re reacting like they won the cup” jokes you want. As fans getting to experience your team get a win is the most cathartic thing you can have. Been a fan of hockey my whole life and it’s a beautiful thing to see someone who roots for another team genuinely appreciate their teams success. Those screams of joy were genuine. Have a good fucking night Steve you deserve it after the last 19 years.
@@markbelaire6518 I know this might seem like a crazy concept, but don't be such a downer and buzzkill. Let people enjoy a moment they have been waiting *19 YEARS* for. This would be a whole different story if it were successful playoff teams like Bolts/Bruins/Pens the ones celebrating like Leaf fans, because yes, then you gotta act like you've actually been there before, and it would be not a big deal.
Yeah but its a bit pathetic imo, nothing rude to leaf fans, this is to any team that would do this. Its an overreaction and made the chances for the team worse. I mean, its still just the 2nd round. Would you celebrate winning 5 dollars like that? Yes, they havent won for a long time, but even so, its not something that SHOULD be a celebration. They should be mad at the team for letting off the gas the second they won a single series acting like its the end. You are letting them off the hook too much by celebrating that hard. The players simply dont try that hard and there are many games to prove so. I feel like you need to hold your players accountable for not winning in the playoffs and not celebrate the fact they won a single series against a tired team. Its a double edged sword. I am happy about it, but it also seems like too much. As they say, never celebrate too early. And you celebrated early. You deserved losing in the 2nd round if you treated the 1st round like the cup finals. You're never winning the cup when you celebrate too early, karma exists for that. The reason is, players try less as they believe its all over. But its just the beginning. Point is, they still lost in the 1st round next year, there's barely anything to celebrate here and things are the same. Why does it matter that you even got to the 2nd round if you never win the conference finals to at least get your name on a trophy? You dont get awarded ANYTHING for anything below a conference finals win. Again, I SEE your POV. But even if I was a fan of a team that lost this long, I wouldnt celebrate too early. I'd keep the hard work up until the end. Not just give up after you win the series. Leafs looked like they barely tried in the panthers series until game 4 and 5 when they realized they were about to be eliminated. Too little too late. Maybe don't overcelebrate a win that hard? Focus on the next game... I mean, where has overcelebrating gotten you? To losing in the 1st round again? The curse isn't broken till you win a game 7.@@Kroitk
@@Kroitk"Let people enjoy having a dollar, because they were never rich" is your philosophy. I dont really like it. Theres still work to be done, so dont give up. And where has that mentality gotten your team? Back to losing against Boston? It doesn't seem like overcelebrating early is the way to win a cup. Players will see that and be left off the hook for their mistakes. I just dont see any team winning the cup, when they overcelebrate the first round. It just sends a message to the players like "Oh, we've done enough now?" And they put less effort since their mentality has changed from hard working to comfortable. Playoffs only get harder y'know. Not easier. At this rate the leafs will win the cup past your lifetime if this mentality keeps up.
@@KroitkThats not how you win a cup though. Next time you win a series, maybe in 2025, don't overcelebrate it again since you will signal to the playeds that they can stop trying. Dont celebrate too early is my message. Am not being toxic or a buzzkill, its simply not the correct mentality by any studies.
2016: John Tavares scores the series winning goal in OT in game six against the Florida Panthers, sending his team past the first round for the first time in a very long time, only to lose to the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games. 2023: John Tavares scores the series winning goal in OT in game six against the Tampa Bay Lightning, sending his team past the first round for the first time in a very long time, only to lose to the Florida Panthers in five games. Both goals were in a 2-1 overtime win.
@@epsomrl congratulations 👏 exorcised demons and Tampa Bay tonight. Take this and run with it. Florida pushed Boston to a game 7 they might end a historic season in Boston. Long road still but you guys deserved this
I'm glad you got to have this moment. But its the first round, time to aim beyond first round after that long road block. Good luck to your team, I'm born and raised from the Seattle area so im hoping to see my team make it to the 2nd round for the first time. Fingers crossed we get a Kraken vs Leafs for the finals, most definitely not likely this year.. but perhaps down the road.
I'm just saying I'm gonna watch and support all of steve's videos on this game and the rest of this playoffs run just to show that as a neutral fan, we aren't just interested in seeing the Leafs lose and embarrass themselves, we also wanna see them win, especially since all the stuff that came before would make it even more special now.
Step up everyone! Plenty of room in the back. Another bus is coming soon!. Step up onto the bandwagon! The Leafs have only completed 1 step of 4 steps. THEY NEED YOU! EVERY SINGLE LEAF FAN! SUPPORT YOUR TEAM! DO NOT WAVER! SHOW YOUR UNDYING PASSION! ITS NO 14 ALL THE WAY! GO LEAFS GO!!!
Fun fact: Since 2013, teams that beat the Leafs in the playoffs don’t win the cup 2013: Boston loses in Stanley Cup Finals in 6 to Chicago 2017: Washington loses in second round in 7 to Pittsburgh 2018: Boston loses in second round in 5 to Tampa Bay 2019: Boston loses in Stanley Cup Finals in 7 to St.Louis 2020: Columbus loses in First round in 5 to Tampa Bay 2021: Montreal loses in Stanley Cup Finals in 5 to Tampa Bay 2022: Tampa Bay loses in Stanley Cup Finals in 6 to Colorado
all jokes aside it is a big mental hurdle to overcome so it's a bigger win than just a first round series would be for any other team, even though it's not gonna make all their weaknesses evaporate and none of the other rounds will be easy, it's a huge confidence boost to a core of players that have spent years thinking they basically couldn't do it.

Dude. I'm happy for you. Congrats. You deserve it for letting us see your pain for years. Cheers.
What a feeling it was. Best feeling ive had since Gilmours wrap around.
If there is any semblance of love for the Leafs outside of Leafs Nation, it’s 100% out of love for Steve Dangle.

Congratulations Leafs!!
Not a Leafs fan, but I know a lot of good people had an extremely happy night and it was well-deserved. And Steve is a goddamn trooper

And then immediately lost the second round lol
Let fkin gooo

Reilly played like a man possessed in that series...

Leafs had home ice in the first 2 rounds. And just like the Lightning in this series, Leafs couldnt win a home game in the next series.
Only to be swept 😭😭😭😭😭
