@@MrWatson658 Williams has a tendency to give the horns a very important part of the score. He always has. It's one of his hallmarks.

4:50 the intonation is so godly they created another trombone and octave up! (At least I think it's just overtones....) The entire piece is probably the most in tune iv ever heard

Just when I think I'm getting good at trombone, I have this pop up in my recommended and now I have remembered my place. I don't think this performance can get any better. The intonation is always pristine.

I think of Jay Friedman of the famous Chicago Symphony trombone section. He joined the CSO in 1962 and was appointed principal trombone in 1965 where he has remained. During the break from COVID, he said he was working on improving his sound. If Jay is still working on it, what does that say for everyone else?

Beautiful voicings. I especially liked the effective use of octave unison passages in this dramatic music. Last week, my buddy and I prepared a Star Wars medley to perform at his birthday party (did the best we could with just the 2 trombones).
