Get ready to enjoy my Chicago vlog! Recently I visited the Windy City and I put together a vlog of my time there. I did lots of great shopping, ate some great food and saw so many wonderful sites. Frango mints have been an important part of Chicago history for almost 100 years! They used to be made in a candy factory on the top floor of that department store (back when it was Marshall Field's instead of Macy's). Definitely try to explore the neighborhoods next time if you're looking for lighter and more diverse food choices... downtown is very steakhouse- and pizza-heavy :) Jennivee's is such a great spot... love her purple ube cake... and it's the only bakery I've ever known to be open at night instead of during the day!

I love this style of video; it's very different from your usual format, but your off the cuff, more casual and direct to the viewer communication is very nice. Feels like you are interacting directly with your audience.

Hi Allison! Although I live in California now, I am from Chicago and lived there pretty much all my life….I could go on and on of what to do and where to eat….if you love pizza…there is no other than UNO’s on Ohio St….there are many that try to copy…even their franchises don’t get it right! The Ohio St place has been using those special seasoned pans for years…we have been desperate enough to even have it flown in! …If you want a very special treat, go to The Drake in the Palmer House Hotel and go to the “high tea” at 1:00p.m. You will absolutely love it! My mom , sister , and I would go a lot …..a family favorite….like I said I could go on but it would take days! 😉 Enjoy

Love Chicago for their food. My sister lived there for a few years and I loved visiting. She lived in a penthouse overlooking Lincoln Park. Her views were amazing. Loved watching your vlog.

Hi Allison. We lived in Detroit for a few years and use to go to Chicago quite often. Not my favorite city but hey why not. Every time my husband has a meeting I go with him ( the last three years … well we all know). Have a good time. Enjoy your trip and your life. Every day is a gift. XO.

I’m glad you enjoyed Chicago, Allison. I always was curious about that city. Now that I know there’s good shopping and food I’ll have to go, LOL. Whenever I travel I have a habit of finding the nicest mall and buying something. When my son was in the army we visited him in Georgia. I had to go to Phipps Plaza where there is a Sak’s Fifth Ave. I remember buying a Guerlain lipstick shade called Georgia in Georgia! They didn’t have it in Boston. So, the rest of the family went to the aquarium but I had to go to Sak’s, LOL. This is in Atlanta, a fun city to visit and go shopping.

So fun!!! I love the old dior glow I had to get from Selfridges. Sounds like such a fun trip especially for make up and somewhere besides canada . I think of Chicago from my favorite shows Chicago med fire and PD lol . I got the mirror from dior for 44.00 enjoy !!!! If you are ever come to Philadelphia let me know we can go to KOP mall they have sephora Ulta Dior Chanel Make up forever. The ulta has good selection of Chanel .

Edit: thank you for including Maria’s and Heather’s info! I live in Peoria but Chanel moved out of the Macy’s here and we don’t even have a Sephora, so I try to get to Chicago twice a year for shopping! You should visit Chicago at Christmas time, the city is so beautiful then! Cold, but beautiful!

I’ve been to Chicago many times but not in the past several years until last month. I was Sorry to see so many empty storefronts. Macys and Water Tower Place were shadows of their former selves, but there are still good experiences to be had if one plans ahead.
This was my first time and I really enjoyed it 💖
