Thanks for the tutorial. Very helpful! Perhaps you might know how a panoramic mountain peak viewshed could be created. A client/friend wants to verify what she can see from the highpoint of her property and would like a panoramic map with names and elevations. I would appreciate any suggestions!
I might be able to assist you, perhaps you can send me an email and we can take it from there. The email address is under the ABOUT tab on the qtips channel home page.
Hi, im stuck with the Viewshed analysis, the problem is this, MemoryError: Unable to allocate 168. TiB for an array with shape (4800001, 4800001) and data type float64 Thanks in advance
Hello, I'm wondering if there is a way to go back and edit the radius of the view shed. It could be very simple... I'm just learning. Thank you for an extremely helpful and well made video!
Hi Elise, if you run through the steps from about 2:45 to create the view points again you can set the Radius of Analysis to something different. It just involves repeating a step.
Thank you for this video clear and useful! When I run the Viewshed, the process show this error message: AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'GetProjection'. Please, could you help me to solve the problem?
@@SpatialMS I don't Know, I have this DEM: www.sinanet.isprambiente.it/it/sia-ispra/download-mais/dem20/view and I select "SET CRS FROM PROVIDER" on the proprierties window. (Same as layer properties and provider)....
Hi Q-Tips - I have a single location (the superintendents hut) from which it is claiming the superintendent could supervise all the farm workers . How would this analysis help prove whether this is true or not (I think it unlikely but it would help to be able to demonstrate it).
You should be able to. Just add 1 viewpoint in the position of the superintendent's hut and run the viewshed. Note that you may need to account for vegetation and other obstacles.
Great Video! Just wondering how you made the 'structures' Point file? I gave a total of 391 points which I want to get the viewsheds of ( Wind turbines on my map - analyzing where they can be viewed from). I have all my points marked out, but can't add heights to them. they're on a shapefile layer. Is there an easy way to convert them to a points file? Also, how did you get your hill shade & topography so smooth? I am playing around with mine and the contours are very bold, unable to change transparency. Could you please help me?

Nice video. But always get the error "Viewpoint in the chosen area"...this is driving me insane..

Does your DEM have a projection defined?

Do we need SAGA for Visibility Analysis?
