Danny, your extensive knowledge of the trains and routes you rail-fan make your videos the best I've seen! Please keep chasing trains and sharing with us! Thanks!
Hello Danny;! if there a train comming across your scanner, You will. find it and iftherse Anything that serves great food,You will give us the whereabouts. Love all your videos
That timing at 9:43 when you step out of the shot and turn the camera towards the tracks just as Q455 rounds the curve never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the good work, Danny! I've been a fan of yours ever since the early days of RUclips and your adventures in Florida railfanning have always been a treat to watch.
I have to agree that was a cool shot and angel. It was so natural. I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot about railroad Danny H. I have loved trains since I was very young. Here in south Central Kentucky CSX is the main railroad. Go west of here about 65 miles in Paducah you have UP, ICG, the P& L, CN, a big freight yard. That make some interesting railfanning. The Amtrak run in Fulton, Ky. City of New Orlean twice daily.
Really don't know what is is that I find so fascinating about your videos since I'm not really into trains. I think it's the professional feel to the filming and voiceover and the fact that there's so much information contained within them. Keep up the great work.
Hey. Danny I guess I'm admiring your great productions. I caught you at the Wildwood yard.if there's a train you Will hunt them down. sure hope. all is well with you & yours. Keep em rolling Love em all
That AC440CW on T471 didn't have a fouled horn, but a Leslie RS3K type horn. UP and BNSF were the only railroads that I know of that bought them. So its very rare seeing and hearing one on a CSX engine!
Your actually wrong on both comments. 1) The difference between S3K and RS3K aren't judged by bells or sounds. Sounds, kind of... but bells, no. The difference are the tab back chambers. 2) It was a RS3K on the engine. It was hard to find a good angle of it, but I saw a spiked tab back chamber, thus being a RS3K. So to make it easier to understand: Regular S Style Tab Back Chambers have the S on it, RS Style Spiked Tab Back Chambers add the R and S.
***** well you said UP and BNSF bought RS3Ks so I was a bit confused since I've never heard them on either but you're correct, BNSF recycled and salvaged lots of Leslie horns unlike UP :(
Your videos are such high quality, especially with your knowledgeable narration that I find it difficult to now watch other rail fan videos that don't share the same post production values. Thanks and keep them coming Danny.
I didn't think your videos could get any better, Danny, but I was wrong. Such an excellent video and with you in front of the camera now they're excellent! Great work!
Another cracking video Danny. You have a great voice for narration and a good screen presence. You should be on TV! Really enjoying your productions. Thanks again from a UK railwayman!
Hi Danny, great video as usual!! Gainesville native here. A965 was most likely destined for the Conrad Yelvington rock plant in Gainesville. There is a wye in Alachua where they sometimes leave cars, then continue east to Gainesville for the rocks. Hoppers will most likely be split off at some point, then continue to their destination further west down the line. This is only to my knowledge from what I've observed over the years, could be wrong.
At 17:03 you can see the horn. On old Leslie S3K. BN had that type on all of their units. Awesome sound and yes all of the bells are functioning as they should!
You're traveling up 301 to Hawthorn, an area we traveled back in the 80's as War of Northam Aggression reenactors. Tracks are right there to the West of 301, an old road in Florida.
Danny: While the Chinese Flu is affecting everyone in some way, it can get pretty dull being at home 24/7. I'm one of the folks at high risk to catch it, so staying at home is my favorite thing to do. Besides keeping the house clean and running, planning the next food delivery (From Publix), there isn't much to do. But being able to retreat to the computer room and watch your great videos make life one hell of a lot easier. I've been to many of the locations where you travel, seen them and remember them, I can spend 5-6 hours reminiscing of years past on the road. Keep up the great work! Be Careful, Stay Safe, Eat Well To Stay Healthy and .... DON'T BREATHE!
Sweet catch to visit the private car yard in Orange Park Danny. Back in the 90'S those & others would come together once a year to be assemble into a special train for the annual convention of A.A.P.R.C.O. & they've been to many great places. In fact of those conventions happened in Florida when the association held the gathering in your home town of Tampa in 1999. The GEORIGA 300 was used most of the time to negotiate business & discuss plans on where the next annual convention should be held & car owners would then spend the next few months planning ahead & making many new improvements to their cars keeping them up to date with wheel conditions, air breaks, the interior decorations & modern devices to make the rides better each time out.
Great video, Danny. I am seeing this for the 1st time, lol. Where you were filming at Orange Park is at Kingsley Road. The rail yard there has been empty for months now, which is an indicator of how well our economy is doing since all those private cars are busy! The A line from there southward is very picturesque, with lots of nice curves to shoot from. Surprisingly, I don't see rail fans here, which is a shame. . I live in Green cove springs about three miles from the A line. I'm glad you made it up our way!
I tell you man you really remind me of Jim Boyd he was just as in the trains just as knowledgeable and just as humorous and hilarious with his commentary a true railfan at heart y'all both are
Danny another good one. I was Folkston with Donnie when the OUC train passed, I heard the dispr instruct him to take the Callahan Sub and the East WYE back to West Jax. They likely had a load in the plant and couldn't take the train. That East WYE sure is handy, wish we would have had it when I was working.Stan
As I lay in bed watching this great video in Belleview... A train rumbles past the homestead.. Living near the ' Belleview curve ' as I call it, there are quite a few trains everyday !!
The horn on T471 is actually a rare RS3K. These horns were designed to sound a D sharp minor chord to comply with Canadian horn laws. Strangely, the RS3Ks were most well know for their use on the Burlington Northern. From what I know, CSX 559 is the only unit on the entire CSX roster to carry this particular type of horn. Sounds like this particular RS3K has a very pronounced 48 bell (the highest note of the three). It's not the very best RS3K I have ever heard, but it is pretty close. Awesome catch, and great video, Danny! Thank you for sharing.
Again love your content and I also enjoy the fact that unlike a lot of the other videos out there you take the time to narrate things and share your knowledge with people which is very helpful I must say so thank you for that and I loved your channel so much that I actually went through the process of changing my RUclips password and then saving it so that I could access RUclips to subscribe and comment as I’m doing now
7:54 I just recently learned that myself. I forget the reason, but I was actually looking up modern diesel electric locomotive bells and found a video of a guy who had one in his personal collection and hooked it up to an air compressor. I'd be curious to see one of them disassembled to learn what mechanism is in place to time the bell. I'm guessing some type of valve that trips at a certain pressure and releases the trapped air for a second or so before the pressure trips it again - but that's just a guess.
This is one of the best videos of yours I have seen since chasing fast trains in georgia. I loved that shot of the brook water tower depot and train. Thanks for post such a great video I highly enjoyed the Q455 chase all day there. I do similar things in indiana. Keep it up!
I love those videos, Danny, especially around Orange Park. I grew up down there but haven't lived if Florida for decades. As a kid they once stopped a passenger train in Orange Park to let my 4th grade class on for a ride to Green Cove. There was a small freight terminal at that Orange Park curve, on the east side of the track. It's been gone for half a century.
My uncle lives directly across the dirt road to Burnetts Lake. I usually go rabbit hunting on my buddy's dad's property at least once a year. So cool to see you're in my second back yard. Eventually moving back up there.
Great video - I grew up in Orange Park (OP)! There used to be a second Georgia car. But it was destroyed in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew hit the building it was kept in (down in South Florida). The yard isn't really open to the public. However, if you happen to come across one of the car owners, they're almost always polite and love to talk about their car. One told me that I could rent one for a month for $10,000 or so... in my dreams.
Hi Danny. Love your videos and so good. Here in England i don’t quite understand the engine lash up practice and how it works. Can you tell us more about it. Many thanks. 😀🙋♂️🇬🇧
You could travel to the UK and film freight trains over here. Only that you would find the track is often fenced up or brick up making difficult to get a good shot depending on the locations. Most freight trains also run during night time as the railroad is so busy during the day with other types of trains.
I know it’s been three years since this video was made-and between one and two since all the old signals were replaced by the new cantilevers and such-but what did CSX do with the old signals once removed? Junk them, save some as replacements in other areas, donate a few to museums? And, would there have been an opportunity for you to buy one of the signals (what might it have cost) for your yard collection?
Danny.. another as usual great video. Please if you would help me understand ..You said at the very beginning of this video that you were waiting on Q442.. where did you get that information that it was coming? In the same vein.. in all of your videos..you explain what trains are passing by.. how did you find that ID? Thank you in advance. Tom cont: when you stated you caught 455 in Satsuma.. I am very familiar with that area.. as I lived just south in Pomona Park for 13 yrs before moving to Ocala. You were just a stones throw south of Mema's restaurant on hwy 17. The track doubles there south as a passing siding before coming single track again before Pomona Park.
Great shots Danny! Love the face-on intros and narration. Also, the drone shot of the Brooker water tank was epic! Any thoughts of an update on buying a new scanner? The last series was great but some things have changed now, such as Radio Shack doesn't seem to sell them anymore. Thanks. Cheers, Dan
Danny, your extensive knowledge of the trains and routes you rail-fan make your videos the best I've seen! Please keep chasing trains and sharing with us! Thanks!
I appreciated your comments so much! I'll keep it up as long as The Lord lets me. :-))
Hello Danny;! if there a train comming across your scanner, You will. find it and iftherse Anything

I agree with this guy best rail videos around !

Really don't know what is is that I find so fascinating about your videos since I'm not really into trains. I think it's the professional feel to the filming and voiceover and the fact that there's so much information contained within them.
Keep up the great work.
The way he brought in Q-455 at 9:50 tho! Smooth Danny just Smooth !
What a day you had Danny! You never know what you stumble upon when you turn off the beaten path, great video!
Hey. Danny
I guess I'm admiring your great productions. I caught you at the Wildwood yard.if there's a train you
Will hunt them down. sure hope. all is well with you & yours.
Keep em rolling Love em all
DH, the horn on CSX 559 ( the one with the crazy horn) is a Leslie RS3K. 3 chime horn, working 100% properly!
It may be working properly, but you've got to admit it's highly unusual on a CSX engine.
@@distantsignal sorry but i think BB is incorrect...not picking here...but im a musician....and that "chord" is one note short...only 2 notes...listen
@@mrserious55 There are 3 notes...it's an F minor triad.
I'm liking the new style of you being in the video
Me to!!
That lead unit on T471, CSX 559, has a Leslie RS3K. Burlington Northern was the biggest user of these horns and it's unknown how one ended up on 559.
Yeah, I figured it was some kinda Leslie. Had long chimes.
It was most likely a HLCX SD40's horn taken off and replaced with a K5LA and the reverse happened to 559.
Northeastern Rail Photography they must have taken a HLCX horn and put it on 559
Caltrain927 maybe they took a BN horn and put it on 559
its horn has been removed
That AC440CW on T471 didn't have a fouled horn, but a Leslie RS3K type horn. UP and BNSF were the only railroads that I know of that bought them. So its very rare seeing and hearing one on a CSX engine!
actually.. that horn.. is a forner BN S3K. likely off on old HLCX leaser SD40-2. it sounds perfect!
CentralOhioTrains lol incorrect! UP nor BNSF purchased RS3K's. Only BN did.
Just did some research. Have heard some on BNSF Dash 9s though, but yes. BN was the only railroad to buy the RS3K and S3K.
"Post-Production values"... hmm.... makin' me think you're in the business. Thanks for the nice compliment!

Thanks for rail-fanning Florida for the rest of us!!!

Another cracking video Danny.
You have a great voice for narration and a good screen presence. You should be on TV!
Really enjoying your productions.

Yeah in Gainesville, we also get a good number of coal trains that run to the GRU Deerhaven power plant
At 17:03 you can see the horn. On old Leslie S3K. BN had that type on all of their units. Awesome sound and yes all of the bells are functioning as they should!
Tuxedo Railfan Productions RS3K. There is a difference.
Danny- Your knowledge of railroad operations is tremendous and I enjoy your commentary very much!
You're traveling up 301 to Hawthorn, an area we traveled back in the 80's as War of Northam Aggression reenactors. Tracks are right there to the West of 301, an old road in Florida.
Always enjoy your videos. Love the drone's eye views!
Thank you Scott!
hey danny you should come to canada we got a lot trains here frieght and passenger
Hey Danny loving all the goodies you show! Your like the railroad Santa
I could listen to you all day long & not bat an eye. Keep up the great work.
Me to also if you know about Thomas he would make a excellent narrator for it

Another excellent video Danny, I'm really enjoying them. It makes me want to get back over to the states to see some of this action 👍
559 actually had a Leslie RS3K on it from the sound of it. Quite rare for a CSX engine from what I can tell!!!
Well done Danny .. thanks for all you do to share these awesome videos!
These wonderful videos are addictive!

7:31 That horn can mainly be heard on the BN "Burlington Northern" Engines before BNSF.
Thanks Danny, I have so little time to travel and a video of train watching is really appreciated
Great Danny. I always look for your videos. . . Thanks!
Great lineup -- much appreciated, Danny .
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your hobby with us. :-)
Nice work, Danny. The narration and occasional use of the drone is perfect.
Thanks very much, Danny. Appreciate your efforts, always!

I love your videos , thank you for being so informative. I have learned a lot about railroading watching tons of your videos .... thank you!
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for all you do. 👍
Always good to see a new video from you. Thanks Danny.
7:36 the horn is a Leslie RS3K. Rare catch among GE wide cabs. Nice catch!
Yes! I don't think I've ever seen or heard an RS#K on any CSX GE
I love those videos, Danny, especially around Orange Park. I grew up down there but haven't lived if Florida for decades. Another great video and commentary Danny. Thank you for your efforts.
Best video's on the net. 👍👍👍👍
Danny I have seen N-013 In your videos and live on the Folkston rail cam with the same power on it for 2 weeks now.Thats pretty cool.
Epic Video! I just watched the old one! Love your videos!
Great video as always. In Rondout, IL is a great spot for trainspoting, with Metra and Amtrak passenger service, and CP DPUs.
Excellent video, as always. Thanks!
Nice!!! I never knew any of CSX's locos had a Leslie RS3K!!!
There is Only 1. It's 559

Excellent video, love how you cut the Brookville water tower into the video. I would like to learn more about orange park.
Mr. Danny. That crazy horn on that CW44 was a S3K. Ussually these horns are on old BN units. I could tell in the video that ot was only a 3 chime.
Great video! I enjoy your commentary as well!
always a good video! Thanks for the info about those Orange Park cars... I live within 10 miles and will go take a look.
Nice work. I see two of your trains every day up here in Riverdale Park, MD,, the loaded Q140 and the empty Q141 juice trains
Great stuff Mr Harman, like it a lot.
@ 16:39 I took note CSX #44 was just recently repainted, last year I saw him in Ashland Ky. leading a grain train in YN2, bummer.
Hi Danny. Love your videos and so good. Here in England i don’t quite understand the engine lash up practice and how it works. Can you tell us more about it. Many thanks. 😀🙋♂️🇬🇧
You do great narration and provide interesting information.
Old Florida is best Florida to me. I cherish the loads I get going to small quiet towns in Florida.
Great shots, Danny.
Leslie RS3K. The one and only CSX with that horn. Congrats on that catch Danny!
You could travel to the UK and film freight trains over here. Only that you would find the track is often fenced up or brick up making difficult to get a good shot depending on the locations. Most freight trains also run during night time as the railroad is so busy during the day with other types of trains.
Looked like 455 had lots of limestone cars on it. I know limestone is pretty big business in that part of Florida.
Love watching and listening to your videos ! !sx
Thanks Lou!
At 7:12, you can see the illuminated S on the top right corner of the screen.
Good catch. Yes, that's the same one I talked about in "Circus Train - Last Run To Tampa"
Thanks, Danny. I always enjoy your videos. Jon, Railfan-439, Union Pacific RR, Pacific Coast Line, Santa Barbara Sub, MP-404.5, Oxnard CA.
Awesome video Danny! Really enjoyed it.
Another great clip!!!! Wow!
T471 is actually loaded at the La Belle Dock in Pennsylvania.
Awesome video Danny thanks for posting! -Austin
as always, great video! thanks danny
The train Q-455 you saw at 9:50-12:11 had 134 freight cars.
A very, very interesting video this was!
8:10 I've heard horns that sound like that on several occasions.
That unit with the fouled horn almost sounded like a BN unit back in the day lol nice video mr harmon
I know it’s been three years since this video was made-and between one and two since all the old signals were replaced by the new cantilevers and such-but what did CSX do with the old signals once removed? Junk them, save some as replacements in other areas, donate a few to museums?

I was going to say that train in Brooker was going to CY in Gnv, but with the Covered Hoppers, not sure.
Love your videos!!!
awesome video. sweet catches.
I remember the turn table at Wildwood. Now gone but still has some marks on the ground.
Great video as always, Danny!
Danny, great video, maybe in July if I go to Orlando, I can catch some action
Danny.. another as usual great video. Please if you would help me understand ..You said at the very beginning of this video that you were waiting on Q442.. where did you get that information that it was coming? In the same vein.. in all of your videos..you explain what trains are passing by.. how did you find that ID? Thank you in advance. Tom

559 has that amazing RS3K. Nice catch
great video danny. love your channel
Great video, like the way you are narrating in front of the camera.
Awesome video again Danny!
Great shots Danny! Love the face-on intros and narration. Also, the drone shot of the Brooker water tank was epic! Any thoughts of an update on buying a new scanner? The last series was great but some things have changed now, such as Radio Shack doesn't seem to sell them anymore. Thanks. Cheers, Dan
