Youse boys have to understand that deep-dish is NOT what typical Chicagoans get on a regular basis. We have two other styles that are way more common: pan-style, which is a skinnier version of deep-dish, and most popular is a thin-crust "tavern-style", cut into squares instead of slices. The deep-dish is for special occasions. Misconceptions happen when ya stereotype too hard.
I understand the gripe, however the vast majority of the time, DOTD is chosen for the longest of the day and those two happen to be 2 of the 10 longest of the season. Also, some people don’t see the homers elsewhere and I feel I’d be shortchanging people by excluding the human goat

New York pizza is tied with Chicago deep dish IMHO, but none of them can hold a candle to Chicago taverna-style thin crust. Best pizza in the country.
