Amanitas in Central Minnesota

I found a patch of amanitas, peach colored fly agaric mushrooms. They are listed as toxic because if you eat a whole one or two, you'll throw up & experience stupor (depending how you prepare it). A couple bites is the right amount for a light caffeine & calming effects. I say it depends how you prepare it because the balance of ibotenic acid & muscimol can change through heat & acidity exposure (decarboxylation).
It really was special finding this patch. It even was right off of a popular path; anyone could have picked them if they were paying attention & wanted them!
