You are absolutely right. They perfected this style of sports watch in the 70s. It's all a disaster now. Unless you have deep pockets forget this niche!
I used to have the Orfina version of the Porsche Design watch (I had a 911, 944, and 928 from 1983) so I was excited to see this one… until you hit me with those size specs. Chunky.
You trying to crash that top time movement? Good rule of thumb, don't play with the crown when a chrono is running. Same goes for changing the time backwards. Every watch youtube channel I see.
I would suggest the addition of the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto and specifically the Sport Auto 40 which pays tribute to his number 40 car he raced and came in third in the 24 hours of Le Mans
Good video. As much a legend the Monaco is, it was never really a racers watch; never designed to be one nor did actual drivers wear them. The McQueen story is also often misrepresented in the media - McQueen only chose the Monaco because he was advised not to choose the Omega Speedmaster (which was his first choice) as he was going to wear "Heuer" badged overalls. If he wanted the proper racecar driver look, he really should have chosen the Autavia. Nevertheless, the Monaco is now legend in the watch space. It actually looks awesome on your large wrist. The Calibre 11 Monaco will always be my top choice.

Seiko is not widely publicized? are you kidding dude? haha.. Seiko is almost as publicized as Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Hamilton, Patek and Timex.. Surely you know little about watches dude..Seiko is known for making cheap but quality watches.

The Timex FTW. Great size, true style, cheap as chips, easy to buff out--it's not even close.
The orfina 7176s had dimensions of 41mm and 15.5 thick. So the modern PD design Chronograph 1 is actually slightly thinner.
Dan Henry 1972 is a good choice if someone isn't ready to spend almost 10k on Porsche Design.
I wish that Tissot was smaller. It's huge in person.

Straton and Depancel are both great. I had a Straton Daily Driver and currently own 2 Depancels (Elegance 3H in ivory and Series-P off-road in blue).
