I actually grinded my Chimchar into a Monferno before talking to Professor Rowan in Diamond, and there was special dialogue. He is initially shocked that it already evolved, then he decides that you DEFINITELY need to take it with you since you're obviously so good at bringing out its potential.
That is so cool

Kage just means shadow (i can't find the actual japanese root word, but kage, shika, sheik, and koga all revolve around shadow which shikamaru, shikaku, and shikadai from naruto series. Or sheik from Legend of Zelda.)
I'm not good with Japanese root words cuz i only know anime.
Actually the Chinese name for fire blast is 大字爆炎, which literally means "fire blast in the shape of the character 大", and the animation actually resembles 大, which means big.

The latest pokemon to evolve with a leaf stone is actually Leafeon in generation 8, although it isn't new, the only way to obtain it was evolving it near a mossy rock, and since there aren't any in Galar, it was changed to the Leaf Stone.
Same thing for Glaceon, but with the Ice Stone and Icy Rock
The latest Pokémon to evolve with an Ice Stone is actually Galarian Darumaka.

I'm glad they didn't make a parallel since there isn't really a need. in the oddish line the evolution is being parasitized by the rafleesia. Gloom is an infected oddish, much like paras. Vileplume is the final stage where the rafleesia parasite took over, in the same way that parasect is the mushroom that took over the paras host. The bellossom branch evolution makes sense since it is a gloom that evolved after overcoming the rafleesia parasite, thus becoming the 'true' final evolution of oddish.

Y'know, "Double Slap" should've been translated as "Multi Slap," "Combo Slap," etc.. The move's English name is pretty misleading for an attack that can hit up to five times
But...each time it hits, the opposing Pokemon get's slapped twice. Back...and forth.

I can imagine the reason for only having 63 Pokemon in Snap was a limitation with memory or space. The number 63 is a 6 bit number, (111111 in binary), and 64 is a 7 bit number (1000000) in binary. They probably didn't want to allocate more space.

That third Bellsprout evolution is actually called Tsubomitto, and evolved using a Poison Stone, an item that ended up being cut from the final game. It was supposed to be a branch evolution, similar to Bellossom being a branch evolution for Oddish.
Follow up fact: The internal data for Gold and Silver show that Sprout Tower has a bunch of unused floors (it was supposed to be 9 stories tall, rather than just 3), and people have speculated that Tsubomitto was supposed to play a prominent role in this expanded Sprout Tower.
*Here's a fun fact: The Sinnoh League in the anime was rigged*

I thought that the trainer whose name was changed from Dick to Richard was pretty hilarious, but still interesting. I mean, Game Freak could have changed his name to any random name and most people wouldn't have noticed, but they decided to name him Richard, which is where the nickname "Dick" comes from. In other words, they were consistent, so I applaud them for that.

As someone who still owns their original copy of Pokemon Platinum, I knew _exactly_ where you were going when you asked what the highest Lvl wild Pokemon encounter was.
Oh, and it's also possible to encounter Lvl 100 Magikarp and Gyarados in the Nature Reserve in Black 2 and White 2, as well as Lvl 1 Magikarp and Gyarados.
In Diamond and Pearl, The Regigigas you can encounter is level 70. In Platinum, this is changed to level 1 for some reason. this is likely the lowest level a legendary/mythical pokemon can be encountered at...I find this change hilarious...
And you can get a level 3 charizard in lets go

Actually in sword and shield, some Pokémon from gen 7 had their evolution method changed, for example Charjabug in sword and shield evolves with a thunderstone.

@@daltonlovescake2227 my stupid ass wanted a leafeon in sun and moon so i kept training in the forest not knowing i had to go near the stone so it took a while till it just happened to level up near the stone
I think they originally evolved with the moss/ice rock because it would explain why eevee couldn't evolve into leafeon in gen 3 and before even though the leaf stone existed during that time, because there were never any moss rocks at those times. Most, if not all other pokemon that were given evolutions in a future generation also have this feature.
For example, tangela and piloswine require knowing ancient power to evolve, and they only learn that move in gen 4 and onwards. Gligar and sneasel, among others, only evolved with items that didn't exist in gen 2 or 3. Magneton and nosepass similarly evolved in areas with a high electric current that didn't exist in gen 3 or before.
Glaceon was a bit different because the ice stone didn't exist until gen 7.

Actually, before Gen 8, to evolve Eevee into Leafeon, you would need to level it up near a moss rock, this was a bit tedious, but they changed it to evolve it via leaf stone instead. This is also true to how you evolve Eevee into Glaceon, requiring a ice stone to evolve rather than leveling up near an ice rock.
You can also find level 100 Magikarp and Gyarados in BW2 in the area you unlock with the permit
11:02 yh, and in Chinese, Fire Blast is called '大字爆炎' directly translating to 'big character explosion flame'. '大' (dai) is the Kanji character for big; Kanji being Chinese characters the Japanese incorporated into their writing system

I remember a manga where they gave piplup an everstone and didnt take it off until it had enough xp to evolve into empoleon, and they made it do a double evolution so that prinplup was only seen in 2 panels.

That was a manga called Diamond and Pearl Adventure.
They also did the same with Gold's Togetaro in Pokemon Adventures (Pokemon Special in JP), Lance gave Gold a Shiny Stone beforehand and when Togetaro finally made amends with Gold, he evolved to Togetic and then inmediately to Togekiss.

You need pokemon home, pokemon bank, one of the Unova games, and a separate ds/3ds to get a gen 4 pokemon into a gen 8 game.
But...the game was Platinum. So no...you couldn't evolve it in that game. So yes, it would be completely useless
@@LuckyOwI777 As Muffin said, you can technically transfer it to Gen 8, just gotta pay for Pokemon Bank and Home (which is incredibly dumb, you should be able to transfer pokemon to Home for free, and Bank should have a free option now that Home exists) and a lot of other stuff!

11:00 I always knew that the Fire Blast animation was a symbol for fire, since it was in Power Rangers Samurai, and that was a big part of my childhood.
The naming gets weirder when you consider Blue and Green are reversed; in Japanese he's Green and she's Blue which is reflected in some redesigns.
In the Alola games, if you evolve your starter immediately the change is reflected in the cutscenes. It's pretty funny to introduce your mother to a giant cat man, for example

Actually on the elemental stone part, the newest Pokémon to be evolved from the leaf stone is leafeon. They replaced the rocks with ice and leaf stone.

For number 12, in BW2, you can also encounter a lv. 1-100 Gyrados in the Nature Preserve (along with magikarp)
Actually as of Let's Go "double" moves like Double Slap and Double Kick now only hit twice. I guess Game Freak finally released their mistake.
If you ever decide to make another one of these, here's a fun fact: In the "Gotcha" music video, in one of the first scenes where all gym leaders and elite four members are present alongside each other of their respective type speciality, the only ones missing are Giovanni and Blue. I guess it's for pretty obvious reasons, but funny nonetheless.

In Emerald pokemon contests you can have an opponent competing with a pokemon named Pedos. I'm sure this is because in japanese or whatever this is just a cutish nickname for Sharpedo, but I'm very surprised nobody noticed this in the English version and took it out

10:25 not sure if this helps anything, but in the DPP chapter of the manga the reason Barry (aka Pearl) had an orange Poketch was because there were three kids, Dia and Lady being the other two, and they didn’t want to give them two blue ones because it might be confusing.
