Nice looking herd of Kikos! I love that you can walk among the bucks and they don't fight. Last year we got a Kiko buck but he is rather lanky but his body is small. Not sure if that is because he is not quite 1 year. I have Boer does and plan to use the Kiko buck to breed them next season because my Boer buck seems to produce large babies and have had some trouble birthing with a couple does.
We got a pair of noble nomad twin doelings a few months back and a bred doe from them on the way. Also we live much closer to them so I was amazed to hear you had some from a breeder close by lol.
@@fishorpriceranch6172 we just got into kikos after bad experience with boer goats and she was not only the closest breeder but her stock is amazing and we'll probably get a buck from her next year. *side note she is like a living goat encyclopedia*
@@fishorpriceranch6172 true, true I'm learning things everyday and I'm hoping it will help me when I'm a vet but for now I'm a small time wannabe goat farmer.
I'm thinking about getting into raising goats for a living, but can't decide on Kiko or Spanish. Both breeds look very similar to me. Although separated by half a world apart, do they come from a common stock originally?
The does that you are looking at selling because of the need to trim hoofs too often, which is related to how they stand on their feet, are most likely selenium deficient. Try spending some time getting their mineral levels up and see if that doesn’t fix the problem. Selenium will help with strengthening up the tendons and ligaments. With goats it’s all about the minerals.
Philosophically, I don't have a problem eating my goats but guess I prefer to eat someone's else instead. BTW, how do you feel about more than 2 teats in the Kikos? Thanks
hey now, new +1 here. I enjoyed looking at your Kikos. We have gotten into the Kikos a few years ago. i think they are the best goats out there. of course we dont have that white stuff on the ground. Thanks for sharing and if you care too, please check us out.
Once they have stripped everything 6 ft and down you'll have to seed grass and legumes. I've ran close to 1000 goats through my farms the last 25 yrs. Most were kiko. Good luck.

Absolutely stunning Kiko goats!!! That group of bucks are big and beefy! You're raising them right. 🙂

Thank you. Still working on improving tho. I guess that's a constant thing, always bettering the herd

Yea the kikos take a bit to mature and get big.
I only keep calm bucks, much easier to handle!

Yeah I've been following her for years. I have bought from her every year for the last 4 years, her goats are addicting 😂

That's great! Yeah boers aren't very strong. When you been in the goat business a long time, you gather a wealth of information

Tip: my grandparents put those plastic Easter eggs in the nest to help with laying. Try it it works

They are different. The Kiko have dairy mixed in way back

We keep out good loose minerals 24/7. Her back feet just grow super fast
you have the type of goats i would like to raise,, long legged meat goats,, them boys are a handsome lot and the girls are beautiful!
Thanks. I really enjoy them. Won't own anything else
We are considering starting a small Kiko herd and we live in Missouri. Can I ask what farm in missouri did maestro come from please?
Oh congrats! You will love the kikos!
Yes he came from Jodey Fulcher with BF Ranch
How would kiko goats do in a state like Wyoming? Can they tolerate the wind and cold there?
I don't see why not. We get upwards of 60mph winds and as cold as -7°. People have them in all climates
Philosophically, I don't have a problem eating my goats but guess I prefer to eat someone's else instead. BTW, how do you feel about more than 2 teats in the Kikos? Thanks
I do not like the extra teats on goats. They are culled if they show up in my herd and the entire line is removed from my herd

Why some goats are friendly and some skittish? Is it genetics? Thank you.
Can be genetics or also how much socializing they get as babies
Did you say you were in Arizona? Didn't realize you ever saw that much snow down there
Yea we are in the White Mountains of Arizona. We can see a few feet in 1 storm
@@fishorpriceranch6172 ahh that's cool... Learn something new everyday I suppose
how are your goats so nice and social. mine dont let me get near them even when i feed
I spend a lot of time with them every day
@@fishorpriceranch6172 in what way? i try hanging out with them for an hour or so when i feed when i can out on the pasture
Just sitting in their presents. You can bring out treats and toss to them. They eventually see you as the way to get treats and come closer each time
@@fishorpriceranch6172 thanks!
Do you think Kikos will do well in an area that’s all woods and overgrowth, hardly any grass if any.
Yes! They are browsers and prefer trees and bushes over grass

What does the dogs have to do with goats confirmation, or egg
They don't have anything to do with the goats confirmation but they are a part of my farm, so they are in the video
That dog is a Spanish mastiff, right?
Karakachan
Do they milk well?
Yes they do

Just started thinking about raising some goats. Where do you live and do you have any for sale? Thanks.
I'm in Arizona. I will unfortunately only have bucklings available in march. No doelings this year so far
@@fishorpriceranch6172 thanks.
If you are interested in any bucks, let me know
@@fishorpriceranch6172 thanks, but let me see if I can find any closer to me.
Do you have any to sell at this point?
I do have some availability. You can call or text me at 928-970-6648
What’s the cost for a buck or doe?
Depends on quality and if papered or not. I sell mine $200-$1200. I paid as much as $1450 for a buck
? At what age can a doe be ready to be pregnant..
You typically wait til she is 18 months old before she is bred, or older
@@fishorpriceranch6172 thank you
How much for each
Sorry, all sold
