“My employer is asking me to relocate to (region) to take on a more senior role, but they are not going to cover the relocation”. Works everytime
"I've been released from prison and I'm ready for a killer job"
Was "killer" the reason you were in prison?
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I’ve taken this job as far as I can and want to change fields
This was a good youtube short. It feels inspiring to see. Thank you.
This question is almost always the first question out of the interviewers' mouths. I know why they ask it (I've interviewed and hired several people myself), but it's just always so weird for them to really want you to come in and then ask something that's hinting at "Are you going to be a problem for us to hire you?".
It's especially bad if you're going through a headhunter who will sometimes *beg* you to listen to their position they just *know* you'll be perfect for and then have them start in with "So, why would you want to leave your current job?".
I swear some of the questions they ask are almost impossible to answer without leaving some angle of making you look bad
How do you explain leaving a job w/o another lined up bc they were overworking, underpaying by like 50k, doing two jobs, and being quiet fired for developing a disabling condition due to the work stress?
That would go under the “better work like balance” answer that was given. Throwing in the career advancement answer in addition to that would be good too given that you’re looking for a raise.
I wanted to facepalm less and nod more. Your company looks like the place.
Because my current job sucks really bad even though it pays ok, and I'm hoping that this one will suck less while paying about 30% better.
"You're looking for work life balance."
What? You won't be completely dedicated to us? NEXT.
"You're looking to work remotely."
Ahem, coming to our luxirious office to collaborate and facilitate creativity is a perk!
yes never say work life balance or flexibility working remote but the explanations are good.
"My previous boss was a jerk!"
(Nah, just kidding...don't say that, even if it's true. However unfairly, the recruiter will assume _you're_ the problem, not the boss.)
What should you say in this situation?
@@theangel5416 Good question. Honestly, I don't really know. Maybe you have to fib a little bit and say something like you're looking for more growth opportunities and challenges, etc.
The best scenario would be if the interviewer knows your boss and agrees that he is a jerk.
@@Milesco yes fib a little never say anything bad about your boss or company.
relocating to somewhere more close to home and wants to move on to another level within my proffession are my go to answers for the moment.
Is it really Ok to say you are looking for a better work-life balance? Couldn't that be a big red flag to many employers?
I see this with people who travel. Many employers understand the difficulties of being on the road 3-5 days a week.
Only if that doesn't align with their culture. A number of ads and interviewers will use "work-life balance" as a selling point.
Now, they might ask you a follow-up question to get more detail on why you believe your current position isn't offering a good balance to see if your concerns are reasonable. Saying, "I occasionally have to stay late a couple of times a month, as much as 15 or 30 minutes past 5:00 when I normally log off from my remote position" will make them think you're incredibly lazy.
Hi @A Life After Layoff, can you please do a video on wether or not to list gig work experience if it’s current, but your previous experience shows you have been in a traditional setting? For example, I have been doing Amazon Flex for 8 of the 12 months I’ve been out of work, but my previous experience was a leadership role.
Helpful. Thanks.
This is a very good pool of answers on my next one.
Thank you so much for tips!
The short is a blessing & right on time 😊. Thank you.
And how bad is .... I am relocating back to this area? Not the only reason I can come up with... but it's the most pressing and the most obvious.
Talking notes!!! 🙌🙌
I get paid in Newports and Now or Laters
I need more money
Once again super helpful. Thank you!
Well, how does one answer this question when they've only been at their current job for less than one year? One woman I interviewed openly admitted that everyone in another department hated her and refused to work with her.
how would you say,I would like to leave a toxic environment that is getting worse due to bad management decisions.
Most recent recruiter who cold called me had concerns about why I would leave my job....my thoughts. You called me, shouldn't you be selling me on why should look at your opportunity?
Better work life balance and better fit for my career should be case close reason.
never say work life balance they will think you are a slacker.
@@Tonyreed-o8k lol o well
Thank you!!
Thank you.
Thank you
I saw work life balance but what if they push you on explaining that
Good
Why have you got a gap to fill?
I don’t want to just read and watch this guy point. Down vote and I’ll see you in the next video that is hopefully well made.
Looking for more time off. “All day everyday, never have to get dressed”. Draw unemployment, get food stamps, get my GED finally, get some respect.
🤨
You’re hired 😂
Tech is the single most overrated career.
it's gives a good life
Yeah because Indians keep fucking it up
Crazy because it’s given me so much freedom
so don’t tell them you need more money? i mean isn’t that the most obvious? i have had ppl say they are very honest and tell them they need more money that’s why they’re leaving
That goes under the "career growth, more responsibility, advancement " category.
@@1988jbk that you mentioned doesn’t necessarily mean more money. depending on the company and culture they most likely will look at you as a pushover to try and get the most work for the least amount of money
Game playing. Must have the acceptable lie
Are you becoming a DJ?
Precisely! LOL
This is weird
Its the Tiktok Style 😂
I was waiting for a couple terrible answers to come up and see his face crinkle-up. Lol
I hate these tiktok shorts with a passion.
right, there was no need to elaborate a full 2 minutes answer to this question
Shorts are capped at 60 seconds...
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! because your company is not treating you the way you thought you should be treated
