Being our first get together, I was nervous about keeping everyone entertained. I'm delighted with how it turned out. Mostly hanging around the big campfire bantering, laughing and a whole lot of cooking. As people started feeling more comfortable they came with their Firebox stoves, setting up cook stations under the parachute sometimes offering tastes to those who happened to be around. We got to see how others did things and learned a lot as everyone was so helpful!

I always break up my ramen in the package prior to putting it in the pot. Easy to eat with a spoon versus a fork or chop sticks.

just a suggestion for baking in your firebox..... dry beans like kidney beans would make a good thermal layer for things like those biscuits and would be easy to transport, add a layer of beans then the biscuits to prevent burnt bottoms

This all looks amazing, but I bought the freestyle awhile back and I think every video but one has featured the nano or especially the G2. Not gonna lie, was wondering if I bought the wrong stove. I'm happy to see you use the freestyle. The box pot and especially the wood flame gas burner may be next on my list.
For a long time I was only using the freestyle in my videos. The only reason I've been using the others more lately is to try to catch them up. The freestyle is an awesome stove You didn't make a wrong choice 👍😎

We like to imagine we need a gas stove in a fully appointed kitchen in a fully appointed kitchen in the middle of a fully constructed and insulated house to produce anything worthwhile. But where, exactly, do we imagine all our favorite recipes were developed? Answer: Over an open fire, in a not-fully appointed kitchen, which was not situated within a fully constructed and insulated house. Nicely done!!

We did some fishing and a short ATV ride and played games. It would be great to see you at a future meet-up. As of right now, we want to do one next year.
