I use an exactly similar one at the SimCoaching center I work in on daily basis. The button configuration on ours is a little different though with 3 rotary dials in the midsection of it. The right edge button has a guard on ours and the rest of the buttons are all lined up by the bottom, same LED screen and Lights but we don't have the clutch on ours. The QR is a Rapfix Racing similar to the one featured in the video but comes with two aluminium dents that bolts additional to the ball bearing eliminating any future play expected. The steering is ran on a Leo Bodnar AKM54 version 2 DD system. If I knew you wanted to review such a thing I would have gladly sent it your way Barry!
Hi Barry, I like to take this opportunity and thank you for your thorough reviews I do really enjoy all your review and what’s not. But I need to clarify this wheel with you since I’ve bought the same wheel 3 years ago and let me tell you that I’m totally not satisfied with it. The company with out names in England sold me the wheel with out connecting the cable for the down shift gear and I had to spend time to explain them after opening the wheel while their on phone and discovers this issue. And they are kind to send me the cable though. But that’s not the only issue after calibrating the wheel it just doesn’t feel right the up and down shifts doesn’t work correctly and their is no positive click when you shift so you must always look at the virtual and real wheel to see if I’d shift. You need to push on the gear shift as hard as possible and still your in doubt. I mean their is better wheels in the market than this one at it costs much less with more buttons and screen that display several cars dashboards which is Rexing wheel I hope one day you can try it and review it and you will really hopefully enjoy it. Have a good one Sir
Yeah Leo Bodnar is absolutely abusive with his prices , you know your products are way too expensive when a simucube 2 ultimate seems like a fkn bargain! What ended up happening with your wheel? Did you return it or what?
Nice review as usual. Dead simple to drill button holes and add a bunch more on the front or even BBI12 pos switch. Wire direct to the Bodnar BBI board.
Beautiful wheel. I really need to find a local spot with a Bodnar system. Definitely sounds like it’s worth the premium based on your reviews, but so much is subjective with these systems.
Another top review Barry. I have spent a fortune the last couple of weeks due to your reviews as I'm in the middle of building my rig. Funny, but I was looking specifically at your wheel reviews when this video went live earlier today, but sadly - this is out of my price range even though Leo Bodnar are just an hours drive from me!! Please keep the video's coming... awesome stuff. Any reviews of button boxes coming...?
I wonder if (and hope!) the price reflects the product quality, ie; designed for serious real-world use therefore incredibly sturdy compared to home-use Sim wheels/rims. Reminds me of the price difference between gamers GPU's and workstation GPU cards which are designed for much heavier, prolonged use (odd example, but hope it makes sense).
I wonder why these buttons are increasingly being used. i've seen them on several arce cars etc. They look so cheap. Why no Knitter switches anymore Also, what are your thoughts on steering extension. i've read it's not recommended because of the increased leverage on the motor bearings
Hi Barry! What are you think about VR in sim racing and simulator like you have? It's better or worse option compare to triple-screen monitor/three monitors?
Barry, can you tell me if racing an open wheel car, if using a wheel like this if there are any advantages vs using my typical Porsche 918 wheel. It’s for iracing, probably the DallaraIR18 car.
i believe the smaller diameter makes for quicker response (less radial distance) and the shape is simply since you dont need to grip the wheel at other positions (and maybe saves weight?). If you're drifting an OW, you're doing it wrong
What do you think? Is the front plate cnc cut from a blank carbon fiber plate or is it laminated in a mold? The notch on the bottom suggests it is laminated ... hm ...
Barry if you ever make a review of the Thrustmaster T150/TMX wheels here is one interesting mod for these wheels: www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/thrustmaster-t150-tmx-force-feedback-racing-wheels.334012/page-10#post-11914205 This modification makes the wheel much smoother and improves the force feedback fidelity a lot!
Depends on the car, depends on the track, depends on the set up of the car's suspension and aero properties, but one thing that these simulators will never be able to have is proper sustained G loads.
Great to see regular videos from you Barry!
You are on a roll, Barry. Sim racing Dad did it again!

An impressive wheel for sure and a great job on the review as well Barry, thanks so much.
You make some really nice videos. Very detailed especially the disassembly part

Great review Barry!
Once you had the wheel open, the screen was not reflective at all. I'd say the reflection is only from the cover. Nice review as always Barry!

Looks awesome !

Because the good ones are waterproof and mechanically more reliable. Problem is the cheap copies are rubbish and often fall apart on first solder.
Love the comedy and review as always but not the price thats the best joke!
Hi Barry! What are you think about VR in sim racing and simulator like you have? It's better or worse option compare to triple-screen monitor/three monitors?
I prefer my triples. VR is best for immersion, but needs to evolve a bit further before I would use it on a daily basis. But that's just me.
By 2025 all it'll be is VR, I can't wait. :)
Hi Barry, how did you get the dual clutch bite point set? did you have to use divvied and set each clutch individually ? cheers
The bite point just worked in iRacing. Hold both paddles down, rev the motor, dump the right paddle first then let the left paddle out.
Nice wheel , I’ll take 2 .. gulp. Maybe not. Good review !
Barry when did you get the 54 motor, you had the 52 right?
About a month ago. Yes the 52 previously.
Nice job on the videos, keep them coming !
Yes nice review... but the price of the thing.. I need a cup of tea to calm down...

What must I do, to get the Display and Shift Lights working in Rfactor2? Appreciate your Help ...
nice wheel !
Great review as always!
You mention that you're using a 54G servo, are you driving it with your SimSteering2 system or OSW?
SimSteering2
How do you like it compared to your 52G? Will you be making a comparison video?
Sim Racing Garage Can you share how you mounted your button box on the left?
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BCUM766/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What do you think? Is the front plate cnc cut from a blank carbon fiber plate or is it laminated in a mold? The notch on the bottom suggests it is laminated ... hm ...
Yes, I believe they use a “pre-impregnated carbon-fiber lay-up” process.
Sim Racing Garage Thanks for the reply. Very interesting!
Great Review! Could you tell the size of the rim pls? Especially the diameter
280mm
Sim Racing Garage thank you very much!
Can the lower paddles give analog input & be used for gradual gas and break input by those who don't have use of their legs?
No, both paddles are on a single axis.
There is no clutch paddles in the 2.0 cars
Thank you very much. The video is super well presented. Thanks again Sim Racing Garage

is there a link to this steering wher

Interesting
what is the link for this steering wheel
how much does it cost?
Csl elite pedals 😀
They want 3000$ for this ?
Those actuators was rocking your seat really hard with the FFB from that wheel, it seems exaggerated, is that how it is in a real car?
Depends on the car, depends on the track, depends on the set up of the car's suspension and aero properties, but one thing that these simulators will never be able to have is proper sustained G loads.
How big is the wheel?
280mm
Barry can you pick a prettier track to test on?
Why would you waste a second caring about how the track looks? There is a good reason he keeps test on the same track and same car.
Mate are you for real? Who gives a hot damn if a track is pretty or not?
They want 3000$ for this ?
